  1. Well sad TracyThom. I started this thread as kind of a joke, and I prob looked at Sunday's thread, and really just looked at the first page. Let's keep cheering them on and hope that RRR continues to better himself as a manager. I think it will be easier for him to do so when he gets his full roster back (wink wink).
  2. Good stuff Obsessed, couldn't have said it better. I commented on a diff thread that YB haters at least have to be man enough to give him praise when he does something good and not just look to jump all over him when thngs go wrong. It's kind of sick the way some people look to just hate on him so much. I thought he had a good game today and hit the ball hard. He's going to screw up in the field at times and will go on cold streaks but I think he does bring some power to the lineup at times. As for Gomez, I agree that if he's back in the lineup there would be less hate. His defense is outstanding! I just don't know who bats 2nd until Hart comes back. Great game by Wolf! Awesome to see! Also, great to take at least 2 from Phil! Good stuff, great stuff.
  3. I too am pulling for him and I know he's not the best but he's our SS. There are a lot of people that are just looking to rip him for every little thing he does, that kind of sucks. If you are going to do that, I hope you are at least man enough to give him praise when it is deserved. I thought he played well tonight, and even when he didn't get a hit, hit the ball hard. I know some people want the bragging rights of "I told you so" but sometimes we need to cheer and give praise too!
  4. Just to make it clear, I was just talking about the freak outs by some of us because Nyger wasn't in the lineup at Wash, not about anything else. There were just some huge over reactions when the lineup came out for each day, that's all I was getting at. I know he has done some questionable things but we don't always know the whole story and he's also feeling out the team. I'm fine with it all right now and I'm optimistic that he will make the right decisions down the road.
  5. Haha, I was removed from everything over the last 4 days because of a move out of state. So when I heard that Tony Plush has been held back because of a thigh bruise that they weren't saying anything about, I thought, I can't wait to read the IGT's from the Nationals series. I think there are a lot of people out there that need to apologize to Ron for the aggressive statements they made towards him! Lesson number one on why you shouldn't jump all over a manager unless you know the whole story. There are a lot of times where a guy is not available for small reasons that the manager is protecting.
  6. I believe he will start slow like last year and then come around mid season. He's fine and he didn't pitch that bad last night.
  7. I'm not worried about Wolf overall but I am worried about him early on. I feel like it could take him awhile to get in a groove like last year. So this could result in some big ups and downs in the first few months. Here's to him having a big "up" night tonight! I'd reallly like to get this first one! Makes the other two games less stressful.
  8. Where does Brett Favre's pederastness fit in the flow chart?
  9. I would say that is not T. Plush. Especially becasue that was going on during the game. Ya it's funny how quickly some people jump off a solid player's band wagon when he's not around. You just can't criticize a player for not getting back out there when it comes to muscle and tissue injuries. He's doing everything he can to get back and be healthy! You can't play this game at a major league level if you are having to hold back because of injury.
  10. No two muscle injuries are going to feel the same nor heal the same on different people. You can't say hes milking this or being soft. He wants back in, hes not like that. What I have thought in the past is that mentally he's not the toughest. He seems to get down easily. I could see that affecting him right now but he's not acting soft. I want him healthy and he will be a bonus to a solid team. Right now we can get by with Nyger.
  11. Haha, great stuff from the in-game today! Love the Meat-tray. Love the competiveness from Marcum. Love the hustle and toughness of T Plush. Pumped Axe got two in a row! By the way how'd he look (if anyone was able to see him throw)? Man 3 of 4 against the Braves is pretty amazing! Sitting in a good spot right now and I just feel like they are starting to play lose now. They seem to have the swagger back that they lost for a few games. They are playing tough and I love it! Let's get the Cubbies!
  12. Ueck was great last night. My two favorites were.... "Ya, shoulder surgery hurts.....especially when you do it yourself......it's tough because everything in the mirror is backwards." "Brian Wilson's beard is blacker than black.......looks like he was laying face down in shoe polish."
  13. Few comments on posts That was not a hit and run in the bot of the 8th, you don't do that with two strikes. Guessing Morgan has a green light. If YB charges that ball his momentum is going forward and he does not have much of a play at 2nd. Don't think he could do much on that. Estrada pitched great for his abilities. I think he did more than we could expect. Jay Hey crushed a ball off him, that's going to happen to even really good pitchers. I think we should have maybe had a guy getting loose going in to that inning but he cruised the inning before so you really can't blame RRR for keeping him out there. Great win for the crew, I'm really happy with it. Good games for GoGo, YB, and Kotz, the three most hated Brewers so far! Hope you guys give them their props.
  14. Wow Gomez is just having a day so far! Keep it up. Good to see Prince smack the ball right now too!
  15. We should have a positive comment only day on BF net. That would be really funny. "despite YB throwing that in to the 3rd row, it seemed like it had good velocity on it"
  16. JJ, I agree. Most people here are positive or seem like good people but really like to break things down. I do agree at times things get played out and talked about way too much. But then again some if it is said tounge and cheek, which if not highlighted in blue, might not be recognized. For the most part I really do look for the positives in a player but I do have to discuss my frustations about them as well! Really interested to see how this game goes tonight. Hoping Carne Estrada aka C.H.I.P.S does well tonight!
  17. Ya I'm ok with YB in there (and I think he needs to be to keep CC fresh as long as possible). He had a multiple hit game last time (got to look at the positives). Who should we have batting 2nd when we play a lefty? I'm really not liking Gomez in there right now. I didn't think I'd be turned off to him this early but it's just been so ugly.
  18. Ya I don't think anyone is milking anything. In fact, I'd say ZG is trying to get back as soon as possible and the training staff is holding him back. Heck he tried to pitch with the cracked rib! As for Hart, those muscle, tendon injuries are tricky. For him to play at a major league level he needs to have 100% confidence in his body. If he doesn't he will start letting up and that will result in terrible play. I think he's just really worried about making it worse and then being out even longer. I really hope he takes his time and gets completely healthy before trying to come back. I'd rather have him miss April and part of May then April through June or something crazy. All that being said, after he got hurt, my first thought was, I hope this doesn't screw him up mentally for when he comes back! He seems to get down in the dumps pretty fast at times.
  19. Ya I really think that's key Invader, keep these guys on their toes. I want RRR to find out what works for him, not what he was told to do with the lineup.
  20. Boy Yo really stepped up today. I mean that was very impressive. I think he sent a message to the rest of the team that he can put the team on his back when needed and I think it will give everyone a boost in confidence. I think it also sent a challenge to the other pitchers to follow that up. I really think our pitchers will be able to get us through these rough patches when our offense is slumping. I'm not worried one bit about our bats, they will come around, especially when we get guys back. Just got to get through this first month and then start ramping it up. Great win and a great, gutsy performance by Yo!
  21. lineup looked a lot better with Counsell and Tony Plush in there! I do remember CC saying he can't handle major playing time. That being said I'd like to ride that line of having him play and then day off and see how he holds up. I think YB can be ok in there and will add some pop at times so I'm ok with them both playing. I just would like to see CC in there as much as he can handle. As for GoGo I so want to cheer for this kid but I have lost most of my faith (I wasn't expecting a miracle but at least some progress). I'm really happy that we have Nyger.
  22. I bet Hart keeps a few 6'ers in the back of his IROC and then all the cool guys hang out around his car in the parking lot! ha. Ya, several clubs went to the dry clubhouse after the Adenhart deal.
  23. This is the type of pitching performance I think we can plan on seeing a fair amount from at least our top 3 but maybe even Narv dog too! I really think they will take the team on their shoulders a lot this year. I hope I'm right because it would be fun to watch!
  24. But I guess either way even if he gets to 2nd safe they still get the out at first so I guess either way he should have stopped. Just think he was there before he could even think about stopping. Like I said, his speed killed him.
