Regular season you keep in Wolf, with a better pitcher you keep in the pitcher. Wolf isn't the guy I worry about going to the bullpen early, especially with how hard it has been to win on the road.
This has nothing to do with what happened this inning, but Fielder has looked so great defensively this post season. That alone should make him some cash.
The Cardinals do not have a bad bullpen, wish people would stop saying that. They struggled early in the year and fixed the problems, their bullpen was pretty good most of the year.
We didn't start any lineup more than 18 times this season. The one we started most included McGehee and Gomez. That is probably why. We used 75 different lineups and 105 different batting orders on the year so hard to find the one that led to 96 wins.
Cardinals bullpen is about 10,000 times better than people give them credit for so not really surprised we aren't hitting them hard. They struggled a ton early in the season but over the full season the key guys pitched well.
It was the bottom of the order in a game that we could easily tie and force extra innings in. I don't have a huge problem using someone other than krod or axford there but only because of who was due up.
Nelson Cruz first person to ever hit 2 extra inning HRs in a postseason series. We sure could use him now! Glad Detroit is losing, just don't like that team at all.
