  1. If people were getting yelled at for Packer updates then this is worthy of a lifetime ban. Our softball team lost a close game 4-3 today though we out drank them after the game.
  2. Wouldn’t be surprised if it did. Might be adrenaline dulling the pain just a little right now. Will have to see during the half-inning change. I thought it glanced off his wrist and hit the knob of the bat. It definitely hit the knob of the bat. To be honest I think he swung at it in which case the HBP shouldn't count but I'd have to see the replay again.
  3. Personally I use Hader as the closer in this game. He doesn't come in unless the tying run reaches base or the 9th inning so he only has to go 1.
  4. He probably will but they will prefer not to use him. With Guerra and Woodruff pitching so well it gives them a lot more length in the bullpen. I think the hope is probably that they can use Hader for just 1 IP this game.
  5. I would have also PH there but I get it at least. Topper the arsenals, release points, pitch pace etc are completely different. This is how Alex Wood pitches and he is highly effective doing it. It isn't just as simple as Aguilar sucks, there is way more to it than that. If you watch Wood pitch a good bit he gets swings on that pitch a TON.
  6. I wasn't very anti Smoltz before this series but he is just ridiculous at this point. The Brewers have not run their bullpen any differently than the Dodgers have this game. In fact they really haven't done anything different except for game 1 where they used 1 additional arm to get through the early part.
  7. There is a reason that the absolute best hitters in baseball still get out roughly 60% of the time. It just isn't easy. What does that fact have to do with my comment? If Aguilar had ABs like that he would get out roughly 100% of the time. He wouldn't though, the pitcher made a good pitch, that doesn't always happen.
  8. There is a reason that the absolute best hitters in baseball still get out roughly 60% of the time. It just isn't easy.
  9. Believe what you gotta believe. I'll just believe the actual facts instead of the narrative made up in my head.
  10. In addition to previous post, the current series score is 15-14 in favor of the Brewers. There is no team outclassing the other one in this series, it is just a really close hard fought series.
  11. We lost a 13 inning game yesterday, that isn't being outclassed. Today we are losing because when they got guys on the ball dribbled between 2 IFs. Nothing about this series says the Dodgers outclassed us.
  12. I visit quite a few fan forums due to fantasy baseball and I've never been to one that doesn't think their manager is an idiot for how they run the bullpen. It is just something every fanbase complains about.
  13. There is no way you IBB him there, you don't want to put the go ahead run on.. Last night the IBB would have been correct.
  14. I know, if a Bear was chasing him I guarantee he would be running faster Especially if it was Khalil Mack
  15. I think if Kershaw gets in trouble this inning they yank him.
  16. Tough only scoring 1 there but Kershaw is already looking gassed.
  17. Players who tense up and fall apart in hard situations don't generally make it to the major leagues. They get weeded out way earlier than that. I'm guessing Miley was just a decoy and is starting game 6? I thought it was beyond strange they were using him here on short rest. Sure hope Davies is ready because I think he is going to have to pitch 3 or 4 innings.
  18. That was a pretty easy choice. Assuming average players everywhere you expect to score at least 1 run 61.5% of the time with a runner and 2nd and no outs. That goes up to 66% with runner at 3rd and 1 out. So assuming the bunt is successful you gain 4.5%. Now you take into account that Pina is a very slow runner and that margin goes down. Take into account that Arcia doesn't bunt very often and the successful odds are way under 100%. Then add in a high K guy coming up to bat against a high K pitcher which lowers the odds even more. There is almost no way him bunting in that situation is a net positive. If it were say Broxton on 2nd and Cain was up next it makes total sense.
  19. I'd say clutch players are probably the ones that do better against top end pitching and don't just live off of mistakes. Clutch situations come up way more often against elite pitchers than the scrubs. Still pretty hard to quantify it.
  20. +1. Tomorrow. Call up McClung He's only 37 so it isn't as ridiculous as it sounds.
