  1. 3 true outcomes because they only involve the guy at-bat - no outside influences. The Muscle tends not to hit grounders or flyouts - he does one of the 3, so he's been nicknamed 3TO
  2. 3TO is three true outcomes - walk, strikeout, homerun
  3. Wait, WHAT?! They came back from commercial late on the radio and Prince was at second when they came back.
  4. "Heavy Metal Drummer" - Wilco "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly" - Blues Traveler "The Best is Yet To Come" - Tony Bennett and Diana Ross "Jenny Says" - Cowboy Mouth "Whiskey Lullaby" - Brad Paisley "Joking" - Indigo Girls "Shining Through" - Fredo Starr & Jill Scott "Bad Boy for Life" - P.Diddy "Jokerman" - Bob Dylan "Naked" - The BoDeans "I Wish it Would Rain" - The Temptations "Rock This !%%!!" - Ben Folds "Angels Working Overtime" - Deana Carter "Te Necesito" - Shakira (in Spanish) "Ants Marching" - DMB "Sunset Road" - Bela Fleck "Waiting for You Girl" - Cracker/Leftover Salmon "The Score" - The Fugees "Can You Picture That?" - Dr Teeth from the Muppet Show 25th Anniversary Cd "Jamming" - Bob Marley "I'll Cover You" - RENT Soundtrack "Eso Es Vivir" - La Secta "The Salt Lick" - Gaelic Storm
  5. Wanted to check the exact stats on AB/HR/RBI/H so I went to his Brewers page. His middle name is OLES! Also, this is the first paragraph of his Wikipedia page Russell Oles Branyan (born December 19, 1975 in Warner Robins, Georgia) is a Major League Baseball player for the Milwaukee Brewers. He throws right-handed, bats left-handed, and primarily plays at third base, but is also capable of playing first base and the outfield. He does not typically hit for a high batting average and draws a large amount of strikeouts. However, he compensates by drawing more walks and hitting more home runs than the average player. In fact, he has tremendous power and could hit over 30 homers in a full season, but his inconsistencies have cost him starting jobs. Branyan has been given the nickname 3TO, which stands for three true outcomes, by some groups of fans for his propensity to either draw a walk, strikeout, or hit a home run. He's also regularly referred to as Russell "The Muscle" Branyan.
  6. Of course, it says it's about Saturday's game but links to Sunday's box score.
  7. Absolutely agreed. I was at the game and was just saying in my curmudgeonly way that Ned was going to pull him one guy to late when there Ned came out of the dugout! I was shocked and grudgingly happy.
  8. That post just illustrates why I dislike Tom H so much. How can the info on 60 mil just be thrown into a blog post like it's no big deal? That's big info and he failed to share it. In addition, the whole thing comes off as a big pat on his own self-important back. "Woe is me, my job is so difficult."
  9. There's a kid in the Bruins (NHL) minor league system named Wacey Rabbit. Makes me giggle.
  10. I would DEFINITELY take the subway. I'm just saying - realize it won't be a walk in the park. I repeat, DO NOT DRIVE!
  11. I was in 234 Saturday night and the Twins fans around us were all really nice. I admit to being a little shocked. I had two kids next to me, who I would have sworn were about 18, though they each had beers a few times throughout the night. They were knowledgeable, they were talking pitch speeds and selection, they clapped when Suppan got the double, saying "You have to applaud that." They were laughing at the end of the game when a guy came up to PH for them and they were like "who's he?" They just shook their heads with Branyan's HR. I was very impressed.
  12. I've mentioned this in another thread, but I CANNOT believe the shear volume of "Visit Minnesota" ads there are. I also hate the Usinger's one Uecker does where he introduces each sausage and their starting position. There's an inexplicable laugh/giggle after he says "my pal, Frank Furter."
  13. The best tip I ever got is to realize that the subway will be JAMMED heading to Yankee Stadium and you need to plan accordingly. Double whatever amount of time you were planning on leaving yourself to get there.
  14. The only other time in recent memory that I've laughed that hard/cheered that much/hi-fived that many people was when we came back and beat St. Louis in the 9th in early May.
  15. I've now had phone interviews, and then in face interviews for 4 jobs in the past 5 or so months and I haven't gotten any of them. I don't think I'm an awful interviewee. It's emotionally draining to go through all that up and down. I'm so sick of it. I'm also sick of my job. I'm screwed.
  16. Dang you Jim Edmonds! edit: just in case language
  17. Per Jim, he was released today Thanks. It's nice to hear the tornado updates as I sit surrounded by windows, but I keep missing important parts of the game!
  18. They broke out for a weather update, so I didn't hear the whole conversation, but was a move made with Weaver? Bob and Jim basically made it seem like he got his shot and the Brewers said "Nuh uh." Edit: Not clear
  19. Uecker said basically the same thing on the radio broadcast. I think the exact words were "There's nobody I like to see get hit more than Valverde." And he went on to talk about him strutting and throwing up his arms and how no one in the majors likes to watch him.

  21. I've actually been there are few times and in and of itself, I have no problems with the park. It's well done and does a decent job of integrating new amenities with an older "look." It's comfortable and clean and has lots of good sight lines. That being said, it feels absolutely cavernous. If you're on the third base side, lower level, the field/seats opposite of you in right center seem AGES away. I don't have a disdain for it, I just am not a fan. There's a difference.I feel like it takes a lot of skill out of the game having that crazy short porch. I understand that to casual fans, homers are exciting, but I think a true baseball fan gets annoyed by the "unreality" of it.
  22. Sorry for the lots'o'posts, but I'm listening to the game on 620 and there was an "inside" commerical that said "Is that WTMJ in your pocket?" (with a woman OOOHing in the background) "Or are you just more informed than the next guy?" Awful.
