  1. Not yet. He will be allowed to play the last 4 games of his suspension in the minors so that as soon as it's over he can join the team in stride
  2. Ueck just said Kendall is just 2 runs away from scoring 900 career runs. He said he'll be on the list of guys who were primarily catchers to do so, but I didn't catch what # he'd be. Still, cool for Kendall.
  3. I had to get up from my desk for a bit. What were those drunken idiots booing about already? The score is 3-0. I'm the minority in this, but as a hardcore fan, I don't like attending Opening Day. OD is for everyone else. They get drunk and act stupid and generally make it annoying for all the people that want to be there for the stuff on the field, not to see and be seen. I love OD's like this where we're home the whole weekend. I'm going on Sunday, I didn't stand in the cold or pay an arm and a leg for the tickets and I should be able to enjoy the game without as much of the stupidity.
  4. Phillies and Orioles have the team name on home and away.
  5. I'd have to do some research, but off the top of my head, we are either the only team or one of a very few teams that don't have the city name on the front of the road jersey.
  6. Forgot the pic, sorry. Glad we figured out the confusion.
  7. Stupid inability to get reasonably priced tickets getting in the way of the home opener...
  8. Just laughed out loud at work and got a whole lot of strange looks. Good stuff!
  9. I'm not condoning it by any stretch of the imagination, since I think the amount of coverage the retirement received was ridiculous on a grand scale, but you have to know that if they didn't cover it, they'd be lambasted for not having done so. I think it's a Catch-22 - at least for the TV stations. Talk radio, maybe not so much. I'm not sure how people have anything more to say about the situation and I for one have been dying for something new - I was so happy for March Madness and now Opening Day. Remember too that the TV stations are businesses, as much as people tend to forget. They need the viewers and the advertising dollars. If say Channel 4 is covering the Favre "story" but 6, 12 and 58 aren't, those three could be losing out on viewers. If one does it, they all have to or risk being the one "out" of the story.
  10. 59 of Bush's 105 pitches ( I think that's the #s, got loud and hard to hear the radio) were out of the strikezone. OUCH
  11. It's just the frustration. Our #3 pitcher just shouldn't have been this bad on his first outing. Plus, the leaving in of Bush too long is like a bad hangover from last season. There is long held bitterness over Yost's pitcher management and this just brings it right up. If we were starting fresh, maybe the anger wouldn't be so bad.
  12. Gwynn and Fielder are for sure. Haven't noticed anybody else, maybe Hart. Last year for the Negro Leagues game, Prince's sock made it to about mid-shin. I don't know if they weren't wide enough, or what, but they were the saddest attempt at high pants/socks that I've seen in awhile. When I met Corey at Brewer Blast last year I asked him to wear the socks more often and he laughed!
  13. I hate this long leash everyone has at the beginning of the season. Is there anyone out there that doesn't know Bush has problems giving up the big inning? I don't understand leaving him in after that - it's stupid to have him bat and stupid to leave him in to give up a homer and another walk. It's just so silly to me.
  14. And he's still pitching at this point because.....?
  15. Really? How many? Who? I know Bushy wears them, but the past two games and the two preseason games at MP, no one but Kapler and Bush rocked them.
  16. Once we got to three balls and knowing he "had" to throw the ball down the middle, I was thinking the same thing.
  17. ARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All three of their runs have been gifts!
  18. I miss the Dave Bush that used to just meltdown in ONE inning
  19. I wasn't doubting Bush (yet) but I'm just saying a leadoff walk is ALWAYS going to bite you.
