  1. Certain movie scenes definitely....I am a bit of a cryer....my wife laughs. I will admit I cried when CC threw the last pitch to get us in the playoffs last year. Basically my entire life has been spent wanting that team to make it to the playoffs and finally it happened. I cried...and then geeked it up really good by taking a bottle of champaign in the back yard and proceeding to "make it rain" on myself and the Mrs...that was fun! Watching people overcome extreme circumstances always gets me....i.e. Special Olympic events and the such.
  2. Because he calls a great game and really works the pitchers well.....yada....yada....yada. I am so sick of hearing that out of Brian and Bill. The guy is flat out terrible. He isn't throwing guys out and twice in the past 10 days has allowed pass balls that have directly lead to runs (Minnesota game and I think the other was against the Cubs). I have no idea why they continue to run this guy out there day in and day out but it is extremely frustrating. After the Crew loaded the bases in the second yesterday Kendall came to the plate and I looked at my wife and said "Here's the end of the rally!" I would have rather had Yo up there.
  3. Colby, I live roughly 5 minutes (walk time) from the field at CSN and would be more than happy to provide some reports when I can make it over. There is a lot of talk about him locally and I am pretty excited to see him play first hand.
  4. If you get really bored you could always try and start large bodies of water on fire....just a thoughthttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif.
  5. At some point did Doug Melvin really refer to fan message boards as "internet geeks". That doesn't sound like something he would say....Hardicourt yes, but I think I would fall off my chair if I heard Melvin say that. Particularily if he followed it with an "and that!"
  6. I guess the only question I have (and I am not doubting any information at all) is if the deal is in place what is holding it up. If what Bobskube reported is true that Peavy will accept a trade to Milwaukee and the deal is in place, what would they be waiting for? Could it be one of those situations where they are giving San Diego a list of 2-3 players they could pick from ala Michael Brantley/Sabathia trade? Again, this is going off of the assumption we are dealing with Peavey here, which has never been confirmed or denied so I guess it is all still up in the air. Never the less this is very exciting. I wonder if Agent 39 has heard any rumblings from the organization or any of his clients playing in the Milwaukee organization. But to go back to an earlier post from bobskube I guess the agents aren't always in the know before these things happen. Back to F5 the site for the rest of my day! Thanks to all who have posted what they know.
  7. Nice job boys....very exciting.
  8. Peavey was removed after one inning tonight against the Phillies. Now granted he gave up 4 runs in the first, but that seems kind of odd. Your ace will get knocked around from time to time, but you sure don't kill your bullpen by removing him after a 4 spot in the first unless he is hurt or well.........not YOUR ace anymore.
  9. Not to take this thread in a different direction and I am by no means questioning his credibility because I know he has scooped this site numerous times in the past, but what is bobskub's relationship to the Crew. Does he have a source inside the front office? If he (or anyone else for that matter) can't say I completely understand, I have just often wondered.
  10. Guys, Give me some quick thoughts if you would on the following possible trade: I give Michael Young Bobby Abreu I get Chase Utley This is a very deep full keeper league. Let me know
  11. Dang it RayKing, you had me believing that my favorite 24 personality might still be a good guy.....but after last nights episode all of those hopes and dreams were dashed. I even tried to convince my wife before we started watching and I lost a $10 bet to her. Now of course it isn't over yet, but it sure isn't looking to good for ole Tony A to be on the right side of the fence on this one! What did everyone else think of last nights show?
  12. I don't know Bobble.....Trenni looked real solid on the MLB pregame show last night. Trust me I am a big E.A. fan but I have to give Trenni props she was looking "NICE" yesterday. I echo many of the other statements about her past. I always thought she was an attractive girl who did a really nice job at what she does. But man she was looking really good last night. Add in her knowledge of the greatest game on earth and the fact that she goes to games on her off days....and that is quite a package. Oh yeah and she is a Muskego Warrior as well....so she has that going for her, which is nice!
  13. Yeah that kind of stinks as I was really hoping Tony was on the good side of things.....and with this show he may still be in somekind of weird twisted way. I will give them credit this is by far the best season since season 3 in my opinion. I really don't know where any of this is going, but am anxious to find out. I am pretty confident Jack will live, but will it be with that treatment from Kim...or is she gone now. Who is Tony working for? Is Chloe out of the picture or will she play a part? Who is lawyer girl that they showed in the previews talking to Jon Voight? Lots of questions.
  14. Ahhh yes because it is such a terrible thing to do an interview on the most popular sports radio talk show around the country. What possible bad outcome could come of Ryan Braun making appearances on his radio show or on his television program?
  15. Dang Corey Hart sure looked hot hitting that home run!
  16. Guys I need advice on another trade. Sorry but I took over a team in a deep full keeper league that hasn't done squat in a while and I am trying to rebuild it. The team really struggles offensively but has pretty decent and deep pitching. I traded Johan Santana for Ryan Howard and Brandon Morrow to help the team with HR, R, and RBI's and I think Morrow will be a pretty solid pitcher for years to come. Anyways, I have Ichiro as well and I know he gives you great BA, SB and Hits, but I still need to improve in the power categories so I was thinking of this trade...would you guys do it I Give Ichiro Chen-Ming Wang I Get Joey Votto Javier Vazquez Am I crazy....I really like Votto this year and going forward.
  17. The game looks really good and will be in stores on 3/3. I am really excited because Gamel, Salome and Escobar should all be on there thanks to their September call ups last year. I wonder if the 40 man roster will be authentic. Will Mark Rogers have his character on there even though he hasn't seen any MLB time? The games looks great and I know I will be getting mine on 3/3!
  18. Guys give me some input on a couple of trades I am mulling over in a keeper league I am in. I get David Ortiz Corey Hart John Danks I give Johan Santana or I get Ryan Braun Nick Markakis David Price I give Johan Santana Ichiro Suzuki
  19. Squirrel...that is awesome man I am so happy you are doing well.
  20. I would defintely be down for a BF.net keeper league. Let me know if you need people.
  21. That is awesome man...congrats!
  22. I completely agree that with the notion of not making a move just for the sake of making a move, however the one thing I do not understand is some of the double talk that is going on. How does an organization have enough money to offer one pitcher who throws once every five days $20+ million per year, but on the other hand not have the capibility to increase payroll in any other situation? I know CC is probably the best pitcher in the game and I loved what he did for us last year, but does that make any sense. So we could increase payroll by nearly 25% for one player, but as soon as he signed elsewhere payroll has to remain constant or less than what it was last year? There is still 6 weeks remaining before pitchers and catchers report so I am not panicking, but something has to be done for our rotation. The idea of Yo/Parra/Bush/Suppan/McClung as our top 5 is terrifying and where is the depth behind that?
  23. The original Mystere at TI is always a good moderately priced option if you have never seen a "Circ" show. O at Bellagio is very good. and Danny Gans puts on a great performance. Those would be the three I would recommend. Also I think Luxor has a "Circ" show that has a Beetles theme if you are in to them. Not positive it is Luxor....maybe Mandalay Bay. If by chance you or anyone else on the board comes to Vegas for Golfing at all.....PM me as I run reservation wholesale company in town and can set any Brewerfan.net member up with some sweet deals!
  24. Could Fielder yield Santana and Kendry Morales?
