  1. RayKings, Powell and Uke discussed this last week and after digging into the rule book it was decided that Manny does not qualify as a rookie based on service time and time spent on the DL last year.
  2. I know everyone wants to kill Yost and trust me I can't stand him as much as the next guy, but Melvin is done getting a free ride with me. I gave him the benefit of the doubt for a while, but he is the one who went out and assembled this diaster of a bullpen. He is the one who let's Yost continue to be employed. He's the one who went out and wasted money on Gagne and Cameron. Seriously, over the past 2-3 years what positive roster moves has he made? As far as I am concerned both he and Yost can be shown the door after this year. Turn the reigns over to Jack before we lose him to another team. If he can evaluate talent like he does through the draft I would imagine he can do it with free agency and trades as well.
  3. How can you throw blame out at a pitcher in this situation. He has gotten 3 outs in this inning. Get real already
  4. Sbrylski06, you could sign me up for those two trades. Essentially you are trading Rickie's potential for Brian Roberts and Erik Bedard....that would be both unbelievable and awesome. Hall amounts to little or no use at this point and Gillespie doesn't really fit into any long range plan with this teams as far as I can see. Lucroy seems like a nice young player, but he is an A ball catcher that is 3-4 years away from even a sniff of the big leagues.
  5. I don't understand how someone can be so pessimistic in the 4th inning. Its 3-3 now dude. Prepare to eat your words! Dude relax have you ever heard of a joke!
  6. Well unless Ryan Braun hits three homeruns this looks like a loss. It's like that scene from Waterboy where the Fonz looks at Bobby Bouchee and says, "Bobby you have to do it, none of these other guys are any good. Now go out there and make something happen!"
  7. If I am the Brewer's starter tomorrow, Mr. Baker is getting one in his ear hole for that slide into Weeks. That was horrendous.
  8. That's awesome Toby, and now you will have plenty of time to update that Power 50 as you won't be getting nearly as much sleep! Just kidding, our little guy (first one) is now 16 months and you won't believe how fast they grow. Have fun with it and cherish the times....even the tough ones! Congrats!
  9. Maas and the guys who really study the minor leaguers......is Gamel this good of a hitter. I know he was posted solid numbers on the way up, but this is upsurd. The Southern league is a pretty notorious pitcher's league if I am not mistaken and he is making it look like a joke. I know there are models to relate what a hitter is doing in the minors and project that to a major league equivelant....what do Mat's numbers look like?
  10. Memo to Prince, have fun at the arbitration hearing next year after this garbage year you are having. Something tells me you won't be touching the $10 million that Howard got....and if you do I sure the hell hope it won't be in a Brewer's uniform. Maybe you should stop focusing on being mad and feeling disrespected and focus a little more on baseball.....if you haven't noticed you pretty much have sucked this year.
  11. Yeah especially when you have two lefties in the pen. Shouse could have gone....Jackson
  12. Why in gods name would you not walk Lopez to load the bases and give yourself a force at every base. Ned that is baseball 101....did this guy even play the game. You load the bases put the MI at double play depth and bring the corners in. Not to mention that he has a reliever in there working on his 4th inning in two days. Ned why do you continue to set up your pitchers to fail......YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE IDIOT.
  13. That 2-seamer to Dukes to strike him out was an absolutely filty pitch.
  14. Ahhh yes, fundamental baseball. The Brewer's are capable. Good job Billy, Seth and Rickie!
  15. Man....."Country" is throwing the ball real well tonight. He is blistering the strike zone.
  16. Tuesday, I understand that but you are kind of making my point for me. We do have high valued pieces, but unfortunately having pieces alone does not make a team a winning team. Defense and pitching wins, period. We may have one of the worst defensive teams ever assembled. I have seen high school and definitely college teams play more solid defense than this team does. The addition of Cameron was supposed to solidify our defense...it hasn't done a damn thing. Cameron can't play first, third, and centerfield at the same time. I was just saying that if you kept this team in tact over the next five years as it is today (even with a healthy Gallardo) I don't think this team is capable of seriously competing for even a division title. The only thing that would change that is if Parra continues to develop into a true number 1a/2 type starter which I think he can but you can never be sure. Now figure in the chances of keeping Sheets around after this year being pretty slim and where do you make up for that loss without blowing up the core of this team. I don't see how we make up for that loss without trading Prince. I asked here recently what kind of line does Fielder have to put up to make up for his inability to field. Honestly I think the guy has to hit 40-45 homeruns each year to do so. He is an absolute butcher at firstbase. Not trying to take this thread in a different direction, I just keep hearing the same thing around here how this team is going to turn it around, and I just don't buy it. This is not a good "Baseball" Team. They are talented and athletic....there is no questioning that, but that alone does not make them a good "Baseball" team.
  17. Guys I don't mean to be a downer and I will continue to watch the boys play each and every night in hopes that somehow they turn it around. But in watch the first month and 2/3 of this team, they are not turning around anything. You need solid starting pitching and good defense to contend. You can have all the offense in the world and it doesn't matter....see Colorado Rockies in the late 90's and early 2000's. This team's defense is not good at all....period, and their pitching outside of Sheets and Parra recently has been horrible. How can anyone say they are going to turn it around? I am to a point where I almost want them to fail a little so changes are made. This team as constructed will never win. There isn't enough pitching coming up to make up for the loss of Sheets. Guys like Suppan, Bush, etc, etc are just garbage.
  18. Ahhh.....here's a simple rule to follow. If you are playing low stakes BJ in a casino with a 6 deck shoe your chances of winning are very low as is, unless you are counting, and if you are counting chances are you are not playing $1-$5 Blackjack.
  19. I have said it before and I will say it again, this team will never win a thing until the defense and pitching is dramatically improved. You can not go on prolonged winning streaks when you have a defense that makes this many errors and you run clowns like Dave Bush out there every five days.
  20. My guess would be Gagne to the DL
  21. I honestly don't ever want to see Dave Bush pitch another game in my life. I don't care who pitches.....just not DAVE BUSH!
  22. Bill Hall just made what could be the play of the game! Instead of throwing the ball to Prince he decided to go the sure way and get the out at second! Atta boy Billy!
  23. Yeah I think Ned will be gone tomorrow, and I hope Maddux and Skaalan go with him. With both Melvin and Mark in attendance over the weekend I can't imagine they are happy with what they see.
  24. The game is airing for me on NESN DTV channel 623. Anyone else watching just laugh at Weeks on the 3-1 pitch. A 75 mph fastball mid-thigh that just absolutely split the middle of the plate.....and Weeks looked at it. Rickie what the hell were you looking for?
  25. Please email the booth regarding this next time Bill or Brian talk about how many runs Rickie scores. Think of how many he could score if he was on base more than Chad Moeller
