  1. Parra's first inning was a little deceiving. Of the four hits two were infield singles and one was a blooper down the right field line. They happened, sure, but it is not like they are crushing the ball off of him.
  2. JJHardy, that is hilarious. Weeks opened up for me in the exact same fashion. First pitch bomb to right center field!
  3. DonMoney I couldn't agree more. There was a post prior to pitchers/catchers reporting regarding Parra (I think it was a prospect ranking thread) where I made an argument for this kid to be ranked higher than he is by most scouts. All this kid has done when healthy is put up great numbers at each level. He has great stuff and is left handed to boot. I understand that their are others who are being paid more, we have depth, etc. etc. but I just don't see how you can say we are in a win now mode without this kid and Carlos V. in the rotation. There is no way anyone can tell me that running out Bush and Capuano (and not to mention Vargas) gives this team a better chance at winning games than Manny and Carlos do. I realize there is no chance, but when Yo is healthy come mid-april, I would love to see a rotation of Sheets, Yo, Parra, Carlos and Soup. That is the rotation that gives us the best chance at the playoffs. At the same time I am not sure where Manny is in terms of inning projection this year....but if they are trying to limit him 160-180 I could definitely understand him being stashed in the bullpen for a month or two. Sending him down to AAA makes little or no sense to me at all though. He will still tack the innings on his arm and I don't think he has much more to prove at that level.
  4. "I'd go as far as to say Weeks looks fat." What??? Rickie looks like he always looks. The guy has a large mid/lower section and large quads. I don't think he looks any different than he always looks.
  5. Guys can anyone tell me when 24 is going to come back. I checked the website (about a week ago) and there are no updates or anything. No that Prison Break is over until the fall, I need 24 to fill that empty void left in my life!
  6. I honestly can't believe this hasn't been posted anywhere yet (if this needs to be moved until it is finalized please do) but the Brewers are on the verge of signing Brewerfan.net's very own cult-like icon Russell Braynan to a minor league deal! All I can say is when this happen there will be many smiling faces in this community! (edit: added to title... signing official/reply#58 --1992. added tags -TC)
  7. I would just like to put it out there that I think Manny Parra is being extremely underrated in these polls. I am sure his injury history has something to do with that, but if this kid can stay healthy I really think he will be special. Barring injury I will predict right now that by year's end Manny Parra will be the best pitcher on the Milwaukee Brewers staff. Left handed pitchers that can run it up to 94-95 and have three other solid pitches don't come around to much. I love Ben and Yo, don't get me wrong, but I really believe Manny has the most potential of any pitcher in the organization. I really hope is injury issues are behind him and he can go on to live up to his great potential!
  8. Not sure who asked the question earlier, but yes this will indeed be based off of your 2007 tax filings....so in essance your 2007 reported income.
  9. Will be down for the games at Maryvalle on 3/23 and 3/24. Can't wait....I love spring training baseball in person. One of the coolest baseball experiences for fans IMO.
  10. That guy is nuts. I just got an Autographed game worn Hall Jersey for $200 in an United Way Auction through Metavante. The starting bid was $200, so I threw in a bid and no one came over the top!
  11. Just to add to what others have been saying, TSO is awesome. My wife and I will be going again on 11/18 out here in Vegas and this will make our 5th consecutive year. The show is just great. The story during the first half of the show just puts you in the Christmas spirit and like others have mentioned the music is unbelievably good. The girl on the violin is out of this world. I would recommend this show to everyone.
