  1. "Is it really that big of a deal? I'm sure it will come on sometime soon...it's not like they did it on purpose." yes it is...i work mucho hours...this is my time...and i never ever make mistakes
  2. Add me to the growing list that thinks this is a great idea.
  3. I agree with the characterization of Ryan in the above quote. He has made a commitment to the Brewers, he has handled himself with class and his quote, "there is not too much I can't buy with $45,000,000" was priceless. It shows me he GETS IT! I think he understands that he is getting a great living playing the best game in the world. Call me old-fashioned but stats do not in and of themselves make a Great player. They are important, but only if character goes with them.
  4. I don't think he would be in the running right now for Cy Young though I think he is close enough that should he stay consistant he may very well be. What I hope for more though is that he is in the running to be re-signed by the Brewers. Cory Hart, Ben Sheets and Prince (third because of the Boras factor) would be my priority order. All of them are award winning type players imo. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. This drove me nuts...from what I saw he may have been safe but I will never know because there was no re-play. Absolutley unbelievable considering Hall argued a bit. That in and of itself should have prompted the production crew to show as many angles as possible. What's worse is when I switched to WGN afterwards the coverage was so much better....hate that. And if I have to see one more person in the stands that has absolutley nothing to do with the game I am going to puke. If you must show the goofballs in the stands then do so right after a commercial for a brief moment AND THEN LEAVE IT ALONE!!! Thank you, I feel better now.
  6. I like him...44...damn I am getting predictable.
  7. i think he is...he just hasn't made any adjustment and everyone has hin figured out
  8. how long til bush gives up the cycle...
  9. I agree, in order to be a champion you must beat teams on the road and teams above 500. Some seem to think that because we have had a tough schedule and games on the road that the record is forgivable. Nay I say, a thousand times nay. If you want to get to October you have to win against teams above 500 and you have to win on the road.
  10. I emailed fsn north...that should fix it.
  11. Is anyone else experiencing really poor sound quality?
  12. Apples to oranges. I don't have a problem with the evolution of the game--the closer, platoon players, etc. But everyone on the field should bat and field, whether they have a glove or not. That is baseball. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. Nope, that would be baseball.
  14. That would be the MLB Players Union.
  15. AMEN!!! If you can't play then don't. Prince gets criticized for his less than stellar fielding but by God he plays. It is another of the strategic nuances that make the NL real baseball and the AL something else. Not that I am biased in any way. Baseball is not just about who can hit the most home runs. It is about small ball, numbers, strategy AND the long ball. It is a thinking man's game. The DH dumbs it down. (removed bold type --1992)
  16. While I don't believe we are anywhere near crisis mode, I do believe it crucial that things get on a different track. IMO we should not be writing off the Cubs or the Cards as if they are going to collapse and give us our opportunity. The above injuries will probably not happen and both teams are better managed than we are (I am not one who is calling for Ned's head). My concern is what is taking place now is a continuation of what took place last year especially with the Cubs down the stretch. The Cubs lost there share of games at the end but the Brewer's managed to lose games at the same time. We are playing like a 500 ball club and that is what we are. Pitching and hitting problems are happening enough to ask hard questions of this team's players and managers. I have not seen any posts criticizing Maddox, and yet we have Turnbow and Gangne both struggling as well as starters Bush and Suppan etc. What about the bullpen coach? Or the hitting coach? What about the players themselves, are they dedicated to winning ball? What about their contracts and the lack of incentive clauses to motivate them Mr. GM? My long-winded point here is that something is missing in a vastly talented team. In management as well as player personel we have people who have been trained by the best, succeeded and excelled at all levels. So why are we where we are? How about some real soul searching answers rather than Ned sucks or the Cubs or Cards will fail. He doesn't (all the time) and they probably won't.
  17. Ryan overslid, the contact by the 3 basemens leg was minimal at best. Brawny needs to have better control...still a nice jump though.
  18. Every year she has raced she has finished in the top ten except her first year. She finished 12th in the standings. (And led all rookies in points)The woman has skills. She is not the best Indy car racer but she is better than a whole bunch of the men. The hype is not just because she is a woman. It is because she is a woman and she is beating men at their own game on a regular basis. As far as it being silly how long she has gone without winning a race there are many men racing who will never win a race. "They changed the rule this year to be like horse racing, where everyones car and driver have to weight the same. She kicked and screamed about this because she admitted that it gave her a huge advantage, which of course did her no good before." And now she has won with the new rule so out goes that argument. Face it people the woman can drive.
  19. I don't reccomend this job or lifestyle for anyone, just what I do. But this thread has moved quite a ways from baseball so take what I said for what it is worth. I love the game and I love small ball. I also love the HR. No matter what happens, be it $$$'s or steroids or managers falling asleep at stop lights, my love of the game is why I watch every chance I get. Little league games are great too if the parents don't beat up the umps.
  20. Oops, I did get carried away with the "many times more" statement. That was an exaggeration
