  1. I am guessing that the post implies that this was the year to go for it...having seen Gallardo go down with an injury, the Brewers will need to focus the efforts on 2009.....With a healthy sheets and Gallardo. Not necessarily my views, just trying to interpret the post.
  2. I don't think the season is over...The Brewers are 4 games over .500 and have essentially done that without out Yo (three starts that the team went 1-2) The offense really has not done much, so i think this team is capable of contending this year without Yowhen the Offense kicks into gear...Would yo have helped, yes, no doubt.....But the season is not over, the Brewers just have to overcome another obstacle.
  3. I would be suprised if Gallardo pitches the 6th inning. I think he is ok, but I think they will take the cautious route.
  4. 68120 has been on the list as restricted as long as I have had MLBTv...so at least 4 years....When I first signed up for MLB.tv, they had Brewers Games restricted on my CPU and I had to prove that I lived in area code 68154.... Archaic rules and I hope they change....In my opnion, there is no reason that Iowa and Nebraska should ever have any game blacked out...The Royals are a natural for Omaha, but if you surveyed the people in Nebraska, the Royals would be a distant third or fourth as favorite team behind, Chicago Cubs, St Louis Cardinals and probably the Yankees.
  5. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=s&utm_campaign=en&utm_source=en-ha-na-us-sk-gm&utm_medium=ha&utm_term=maps I live in Zip Code 68154....8.9 miles away is Zip code 68120 Here are the restrictions for the two different zip codes about 70 blocks apart. U.S. postal code "68154" is subject to blackout for the following MLB teams: Kansas City Royals U.S. postal code "68120" is subject to blackout for the following MLB teams: Minnesota Twins Chicago White Sox St. Louis Cardinals Kansas City Royals Chicago Cubs Milwaukee Brewers
  6. When I lived in Estherville, IA.... U.S. postal code "51334" is subject to blackout for the following MLB teams: Minnesota Twins Chicago White Sox St. Louis Cardinals Kansas City Royals Chicago Cubs Milwaukee Brewers To me that was ridiculous...You were only able to get the Twins games on radio and on Cable TV...No teams had any games on broadcast TV since we had the Sioux Falls, SD TV stations. Also, I live in omaha and one zip code and one zip code only in Omaha has a blackout restriction on Milwaukee. 68120....it is the only zip code in the state of Nebraska that blacks out Milwaukee and I am glad I do not live in that Zip Code.
  7. I was going to guess it was Chuck Crim and living in Nebraska, I would have only read about this in the box score, so my recollection was foggy at best...Those were the days before the internet and easy access to JS online, Milwaukee Brewer.com and most importantly Brewerfan.net to get my daily dose of Brewer information.
  8. Didn't Trebelhorn do that once in a game in the AL...you have to give up your DH the rest of the game, but I vaguely remember him moving a pitcher to another position. I might be dreaming but for some reason, I think it may have happened.
  9. I was away for 30 minutes....Did I miss anything?
  10. We probably should have taken a collection up to gt the four million dollar difference that Francisco Cordero got from Cincinatti.....
  11. Might as well make it interesting....
  12. Keep throwing up Zeroes, Ben....I think the first team to score might just win this game.
  13. Fruity Pebbles, Grape Nuts, Shredded Wheat, Peanut Butter Captain Crunch, and Rice Krispies. I buy all the Store Brand versions of these items...as most of the store brands are Made by Ralston....who use to make name brand cereals like Chex. Hy-Vee, here in Nebraska, has a store brand Wheaties version, for the poster that asked why there isn't a generic version of it.
  14. From Sportsbook.com Milwaukee's over under is 85 Chicago Cubs is 87.5 Cincinatti is 77.5 Pittsburgh is 70.5 Houston is 76.5 St Louis is 75
  15. I use Hy-Vee BBQ Sauce...it is a store brand, but it puts many BBQ sauces to shame as good as it is. I have tried them all and always come back to the Hy-Vee Hickory BBQ sauce. Hy-Vee is a chain out of Des Moines, IA and they are coming to Madison, WI in the next year or so...
  16. I have a request that this thread be pinned at the top of the Off topic board so it will be easy to find this spring and summer... There are some great ideas on here and I am going to try them this summer. One of the tips I have for grilling is to have a good digital thermometer....I have been told my an executive chef that you should never grill steaks by color, but by internal temperature. Since I have started using the thermometer, I have not overcooked a steak.
  17. I know Melvin really likes Bush and has compared him to Chris Carpenter in the past when discussing his peripheral numbers.
  18. I would be more shocked if Alex didn't use steroids than if he did. Canseco, in my mind, is one of the few ballplayers that has been telling the truth.
