  1. I am very happy with the 3-3 homestand.....now the Crew needs to improve on this performance on the next road trip.
  2. Each time I watch McClung, I am gaining more and more confidence that he can become a quality starter in the big leagues...
  3. I like the Brewers chances to make the playoffs this year...With as poorly as the team has played this year, they are still on pace to win 86 games.... Winning the Division is not out of the question...The Cubs will have a tough stretch at some point this season and the Brewers need to keep getting good pitching and they will get right back into it.
  4. I think you are forgetting that is a small sample size situation....
  5. Thinking Pitchers hit better against your team is similar to thinking that Field Goal Kickers never seem to miss against your favorite football team...Nobody remembers the missed FG or in this case the ground out to shortstop.
  6. Another milestone for Junior...Congrats.
  7. Well in your example, you can turn off the signal to stop the use by the neighbor...perfectly fine...Baseball could do this as well, They can quit playing games or quit allowing fans to follow baseball by not allowing them to come to the park and taking it off of TV and Radio. That would shut off the use of their statistics.... Baseball does not have to provide the service of Baseball to anyone, just as you don't have to provide internet to those that are not paying, but for baseball to do this, they have to quit playing the game since it would be impossible to play it without people observing the game and keeping stats. (pared back long quote -1992)

  9. The fact that the statistics can be attained by observing the games...makes me think that the MLB has no leg to stand on... if you and I were going to have a contest to see which player in a game had the most balls hit to him during a game...We could simply observe the game and decide who the winner was...if this case were given to MLB, then MLB would deserve a slice of that side wager while we attended the game.... The statistics are public information and people can use them as they please in my opinion...Early fantasy games were done, by compiling statistics form box scores and stats from newspapers...computers made it easier and websites simply made it user friendly...They are not selling MLB statistics, they are selling ease of use and ease of play....The statistics are already available for free in many ways.

  11. I would like to keep Hardy...He is solid on defense at shortstop....and offensively they both have holes in their games, but hall generally frustrates me more than Hardy. I really would like to see improvements from both the 3B and SS position, offensively and feel that the 3B platoon that we have now is perfect for the time being, but Hall, if he is going to be disgruntled can be easily replaced by Dillon as he would only get about 200 AB from a platoon where he only faces lefties, anyway. I see Melvin trading both players in the future....probably Hall, first
  12. Probably the only trade that would work is if you match another team that has a disgruntled player that needs a change of scenery...Sometimes those trades work out for both teams and other times they don't...but it is probably the only way that the Brewers get decent value for Billy.
  13. Right now...keep winning series and we can start worrying about teams in August.
  14. I tend to agree that the NL Central is not as bad as everyone first believed it to be. I think Houston is better than advertised, St louis is much better and the Cubs are definitely the team to beat... I also think the Crew will get back into the mix in the division race and I will not be suprised if the Wildcard comes from the Central
  15. If Ryan can continue to improve, he will be great. Right now, though, I would say he is very good.
  16. I think McClung can be serviceable...but Yost needs to have a quick hook with him as he did not yesterday... McClung has not been stretched out and when he got into trouble in the fifth, He should have had Dillard ready to pitch 2 or 3 innings....With a guy like McClung, 5 inning is bonus, but if he gets into trouble in the third or fourth, Yost needs to get Dillard up and relieve him. The one thing that drives me nuts about Yost is that he leaves starters in the game until the game is out of reach...Occasionally, they get through that extra inning, but too often, he ends up bringing in a reliever anyway that inning, just now the game is out of reach. I think back to the Villanueva start against Houston...Villanueva showed some struggles the inning before the 3 back to back homers....yet Yost, keeps him in there until it is too late...In a situation like that, I think Villy should pitch until a guy gets on base or second and have a pitcher ready to go.
  17. I had a friend that would make names up while using obscure players on Sony Playstation or Sega or Nintendo, what ever it was we used to play... Two that I liked that would be Bermanesque Tom "Meet me in my" Chambers Brad "not the Ketchup, but the" Muster
  18. I liked John "Tonight let it be" Lowenstein.
  19. The MLB all star game is the best all star game, but that is not saying much. Living in Nebraska as a kid, I used to watch the All star game to catch a glimpse of a Brewer in uniform as they were never on TV in nebraska in the mid 80's. I vividly remember waiting and waiting to see Dan Plesac and when he finally got in the game, he threw one Pitch (I think it was one Pitch) and gave up a base hit and was pulled from the game.
  20. As bad as the Brewers have played this year...They still are only 6 games behind the Cubs without seeing them in Miller Park this year. I would love to see the Brewers about 6 games above .500 right now, but considering how poorly they have played, the team could be in much worse shape in the standings.
  21. I liked having Kendall in the 9 hole, but it sure frustrated me to see Kendall and Weeks get on only to have Cameron strikeout to end an inning....I do think that having Braun second and Fielder third would have improved the lineup...albeit only a slight improvement.
  22. I am ready for The Brewers to give Weaver three starts to see what he can do...If he goes 0-3...well, it is what we would have gotten from Bush...Maybe, just maybe, he will realize this might be his last chance and pitch with a chip on his shoulder and give us some quality innings.,
  23. I am going to say yes.... The Brewers have played absolutely awful thus far this year and are only 4 games back and one game under .500. I think the Wild card is going to come from the Central and will be the Brewers.
  24. I would really like to see Sheets a Brewer for the next four years, but not if it the signing ends up crippling the franchise....The Teddy Higuera signing in the late 80's had lingering effects on the Brewers for years.
  25. I believe there was a lawsuit pending that caused the name change....Lucifer, himself was disgusted being associated with a franchise without a winning record and demanded the name change. I do believe that Satan is regretting this move at this point, though.
