  1. How many game did you watch of Tobias Harris to come to that conclusion? I was always impressed when I saw him, and thought he played w/ a lot of composure and skill, and could of scored a lot more points if he didn't have a guy like Scotty Hopson on his team. I didn't get to see too much of Alec Burks play w/ Colorado, but from what I've read and seen I don't think that Burks is that much better of a prospect. I think in all of the athletic testing Harris was equal to or better than Burks, and he is a year younger and bigger than Burks. I guess we'll just have to wait and see who becomes the better player.
  2. Stephen Jackson is a much better basketball player than Corey Maggette. Say all you want about him, but Jackson plays his butt off, and wants to win bad. Corey Maggette was one of my least favorite Bucks ever, he plays like a broken robot. He was a fan favorite in Charlotte, and I expect the same in Milwaukee. I've been a huge Beno Udrih fan the last couple of years, and think he is the perfect compliment to Jennings as a backup pg, and will also fill some SG minutes. I'm also intriuged by former top 5 pick Shawn Livingston, who has finally been healthy and put in some decent minutes over the past 2 seasons. As for the draft, I was surprised by the Harris pick, but I really liked his game at UT last season. I watched a bunch of his games and always thought he played very smart and was easily the best player on a decent Tennessee team. I believe he will fit in well as a SF/PF, and hope he will be one of the gems of this draft. I don't mind the Leuer pick, but I'm not thrilled by it. That being said, I thought going into his senior year he had a chance to be a mid first round pick, and I don't think he made quite the jump I thought he would make. I see a ton of promise in his game physically, but I'm not sure if he has what it takes mentally to be a good NBA player. Overall, I think yesterday made the Bucks a better team, but I still think they need to get rid of Dooling and Brockman, and pick up another SG/SF and backup center.
  3. Ersan is rumored to want a buyout of his contract, so if that's true, I'd be happy w/ that trade. If not, I also love Ersan's game, especially two seasons ago, and hope that he stays a Buck.
  4. Houston has picks 14 and 23, and I think the player would be either Jordan Hill or Patrick Patterson.
  5. So if Friday night gets rained out, and they have a doubleheader on Saturday, does your Friday ticket work for one of the games on Saturday?
  6. If Mcgehee and Green keep playing like they have been, I think Green will be up and getting starts vs. RHP's very soon. I'm very excited about his resurgance, and hope its not just a hot streak.
  7. I'm pretty sure they'll find a way to get Fielder on the all-star team. He's 2nd in the nl in both HR's and RBI, and is 3rd in OPS.
  8. If there's no DH, it should be fun watching the Braun, Holiday and Berkman outfield. I'd imagine we'll get our first taste of Braun in CF.
  9. I read recently on MLbtraderumors.com that they are considering trying to extend Hardy before the end of the year, so I doubt they are looking to trade him. Although I'd love to see him back w/ the Brewers. Edit - Nevermind, it was the Orioles beat writer saying he would extend him. http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles/blog/2011/06/orioles_news_notes_and_opinion_4.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  10. Posada has had over an 800 OPS the last 2 seasons, and his BABIP this year is about 100 points lower than his career average. He did play catcher a bunch the last 2 seasons, so maybe he'd be willing to still play once or twice a week? Or is it an injury issue?
  11. For a first year manager, I think he is doing a great job and making a lot of good adjustments. It's great to have a manager that the players seem to all like and respect. I could see him being the manager in Milwaukee for a long time.
  12. It looks like Hideki Matsui is or will be soon available from the A's, since he is hitting so poorly. There are also rumors that Jorge Posada may be getting released. He might be a nice pickup, if he would be ok w/ taking Nieves's role as the backup C. I highly doubt we pick up either guy, but I think they would greatly improve our bench, while bringing a whole new level of veteran championship experience.
  13. I think thats a bad analogy. The MLS may not be great yet, but it would draw a lot more fans than a d league team, and it is the top level of soccer in the United States.
  14. I have a feeling that Melvin considers Mark Kotsay his Jim Thome. However, I'd love to see some pop off the bench, maybe a guy like Josh Willingham if the A's are out of the race. I do also love Jim Thome.
  15. I don't really understand the need for Josh Wilson, it's not like Craig Counsell was getting overused. I would have much rather seen Mat Gamel or Eric Farris on our bench, or even Brendan Katin.
  16. I do wish he would've gotten a shot over Mike Rivera. The must really think that he can't hit mlb pitching.
  17. How is Erik Komatsu's defense in CF? He has been an OBP machine last year at Brevard County(.413 OBP), and so far this year at Hunstville(.438 OBP). If he keeps hitting, and is a good defensive CF, I could see him in Nashville for the second half of the season, and becoming our CF and top of the order hitter next season.
  18. If you were talking to me, I'm sorry if it came across that way, but I was not trying to "lecture" anyone, I just want to know how people value Fielder compared to Braun. If Prince changed his mind and wanted to negotiate, what kind of contract would people be ok with? Would you be ok if it was the same as Brauns?
  19. What kind of a contract would you offer him?
  20. I do agree that Braun gets way more love than Fielder from Brewer nation, and thats mostly because he commited long term and isn't w/ Scott Boras. If Prince surprises us, and ends up signing a 6 year 120-130 million deal w/ the Brewers, I think he will be just as loved as Braun. I think some are underestimating the impact of losing Fielder next season. I find it hard to believe that most people have no interest in going long term w/ Prince. He's only 26 years old and has shown the ability to play everyday while being one of the best hitters in baseball, and improving tremendously at first base.
  21. Do you actually really wonder if this is what happened? In my opinion, that is ridiculous, and probably very very far from the truth. I wish Angel luck w/ Seattle, hopefully he can overcome his anxitey issues, and become the MLB player I thought he would become, even though I'm sorry it won't be as a Brewer.
  22. How much and how long of a contract would you be willing to give Prince Fielder? I would be willing to give him a 7 year deal worth around 150. His contract would expire around the age of 34. I think he brings a ton of revenue to the Brewers, and it would be nice to have Prince and Braun locked in the middle of our lineup for the next 7 years.
  23. Well besides 5+ seasons w/ almost 200 Hr's and a .923 OPS, being the youngest player ever to 50 home runs in a season, leading them to their first playoff birth since 1982, being a 2 time all star, and winning the home run derby, I guess not much. Fielder has been an outstanding player who has been great to watch, and I think many more people will realize that than you think. I still am hoping that he stays in Milwaukee, but if not I will still be a lifelong fan of the guy on and off the field.
  24. I'm assuming someone from AAA will get called up after tonights game? Otherwise it doesn't make any sense to play 1 player short for a game.
  25. I'm sure he's seen enough of him to determine if he's worth a flyer or not. So my guess is if we aren't interested, Roenicke thinks he is doesn't have much of a chance of ever being a good player. Based on his minor league numbers I would love to see a young guy like Wood take the spot of either Almonte or Nieves.
