  1. Scorpions get everywhere so that isn't really all that weird. I am still wondering how one got into a sealed light fixture or how one got frozen in an ice cube in my ice maker. I have had them crawl up out of the drain in my sink. They are literally everywhere here in Arizona and even though I get the house sprayed they still get in. I literally shake anything and everything that I pick off the ground before using it.
  2. Matt "Salad Tongs" Wise would disagree also Hunter Pence running through a glass door is also one of my favorites.
  3. Satellite internet is still very hit and miss (mostly miss) on the speed and connection. It is great if all you are using it for is surfing the web and getting emails. If you are doing anything like working from home good luck with that as your connection will be dropped a lot it will also feel like you are on dial up when doing conference calls and forget video because that is not going to work all that well. If you want to stream movies or shows satellite internet is also going to be a huge let down as you are going to be luck to get 480p from it. Also if you like to play video games online this will also not work as you will have a high ping and latency is going to be an issue. Elon Musk's starlink I believe it is called also has the same issues though once the technology gets worked more this should improve though plugging into a line will still be the fastest and most reliable way to get onto the internet.
  4. I have doubts 10% of all MLB players could put down a successful bunt 30% of the time.
  5. Everyone learns differently and I doubt test results will decline all that much. They will probably rise because how are you going to keep someone from looking something up during an online test? Some classes you may get more out of being there than online but some like a history class or even a non lab based science class I doubt there would be much of a difference. There are some classes where you get a benefit of it being online and others where you need the interaction.
  6. I am not saying it is Aliens but....... Aliens! https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/23/us/politics/pentagon-ufo-harry-reid-navy.html
  7. I think Cueto or Samardzija are more realistic targets.
  8. A year old but I am liking this song:
  9. I would say that accurately portrays about 99.99% of the people on social media along with about 98% of the politicians out there.
  10. First win of the year finally can't believe it took until July 25th to get the first win!
  11. Jamal Adams to Seahawks https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/jets-agree-to-trade-safety-jamal-adams-to-seahawks-in-blockbuster-deal-involving-multiple-first-round-picks/
  12. Two of the worst hitters for the Brewers last year have the most hits so far this year.
  13. The away teams broadcast group are not at the home teams stadium. So I doubt you would hear much on the radio versus TV it is probably quieter on radio.
  14. Did Arcia change his swing? It looks more flatter than last years.
  15. 2021 salary cap proposal to be $175m. 2020 salary cap is $198.2m. Not good for players who didn't get paid this year. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-proposes-2021-nfl-salary-cap-floor-at-175-million-due-to-covid-19-pandemic/
  16. Well this is a dumb name even if it is temporary. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/washington-to-call-itself-the-washington-football-team-in-the-interim-and-change-uniform-per-report/
  17. No NFL preseason: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nflpa-tells-players-therell-be-no-preseason-training-camp-rosters-reduced-to-80-players/
  18. The Jets and Giants won't have fans at home games this year.
  19. Burnes and Peralta were just rumored for games 2 and 3 and the rest haven't been decided on yet. Probably see something today or tomorrow on what they are going to do.
  20. Looks like Burnes and Peralta will be games 2 and 3 starters to open the season. Burnes would only start if Anderson is not able to pitch. Lindblom won't be available for the Cubs series but should be good after. Lauer will be ready around the 2nd or 1st week of August. He is currently behind by about 1 week due to quarantine. So might be earlier for Lauer though I think the 2nd week of August is when he will make his first start for the Brewers.
  21. The center lanes are travel lanes. The left lane is a passing lane and only should be occupied if you are passing or if traffic has slowed down. The right lane is for slower vehicle traffic and exiting and entering traffic. The right lane should only be used that way unless traffic is moving slowly. If there are only two lanes the right lane becomes the travel lane. I am probably wrong about this but this is what I was taught in drivers ed
  22. No games in Toronto this year.
  23. The average spending for schools is something around $13,000 per student some sources have it as high as $16,000 per student but I will go with the old 2017 information where it was at $13,000 per student other sources are not all that reliable for the $16,000 figure. So instead of the government spending this money maybe they should just give it to the parents as a stipend to pay for the schooling that they want. If they want their kids to attend a private school they can use it for that. A better idea would be to pool your money together and hire a teacher which for a teacher would actually be more lucrative for them. For example lets say 10 families with 1 child each decide to pool their money together and hire a teacher that teacher now has a salary of $130,000 instead of the average of about $40,000 I believe it is. You could also change the tax code so that some of that salary would go to expenses and be written off. Unions could also create a co-op where their members could pool in their money using it how they see fit maybe the salaries for each individual teacher goes down but they can join a pool of workers and get health insurance and a retirement plan that is managed. I believe this would be a win for the students, teachers, parents and education in general. The teachers could get their smaller class sizes which with social distancing if it is still a thing in the future will help. But this makes way too much sense so I doubt it would even get pass the mentioning here to any form of government.
