  1. Only issue I can think of is field conditions. I don't think 30 min is enough time for the field crew to come in and fix any divots, water the infield, put new chalk down, and any other maintenance that would need to be done to the field. After about a week or so the field would be in an unplayable condition. There would be little league fields in better condition than Chase Field after about a week or two of this. I think you need at least an hour between games maybe two hours to repair the field maybe not every day but you would have to do the maintenance at some point. Maybe have a day or two off to have the fields repaired.
  2. Should only be in the low 100's in May. If they avoid the afternoon hours it will be fine weather wise. Now if it is June then 10-4pm local time is out of the question. The latest a game should start would be 8am assuming a 3 hour game. The final innings would played in the heat but as long as they are done by noon it shouldn't be too much of a concern. The hottest times are normally from noon-5pm.
  3. Every business is essential. If it provides a service and people go to it for goods or services it is essential. Unfortunately small business owners can't just close up shop and then hope some magical unicorn comes around and pays their rent/mortgage and then buys them food and other necessities. Yes they can. That magical unicorn is called the SBA. Ummm since when has the SBA allowed for funds to be used for necessities like food and mortgage payments?

  5. Russia is just trying to kill off the US oil industry mostly the offshore and fracking industry in the US, but like a bear it will go into hibernation and will be back once the price of oil goes back up.
  6. The drafts are about as fun as watching paint dry even in the current environment.
  7. This is just dumb. You can't bring an economy back to life once it is dead it is dead. You can revive an economy but you can not bring it back to life. Dead is dead no matter what you are looking at. You basically have to start all over again with a new economy once it has died. Somalia and other countries around the world prove this point as the economy in Somalia has been tried to be brought back to life but it has failed over and over again. It is simply disingenuous to say an economy can be brought back to life it is like comparing COVID-19 to the flu. Just like life has to be born again the economy has to be born again once it dies. I don't think he intended that first sentence to be taken literally. Then it is a useless and dumb quote.

  9. The pay maybe temporary. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/samson-zero-chance-minor-leaguers-will-continue-to-get-paid-all-season/ As for jobs in the Phoenix market nearly every single grocery store is hiring and I believe Amazon is looking for warehouse workers along with Honeywell looking for factory workers.
  10. Why would preferred stocks have safer dividends? They are non-voting shares. Do companies ever pay dividends to preferred shares but not common? The difference is that if a company liquidates, you'd get a portion of the leftovers (although less than the value of your investment) Preferred gets paid before common and preferred usually has a fixed dividend and is usually higher a lot higher than common stock. Some other differences below. A company must pay out dividends to preferred shareholders before common shareholders receive any dividends. If a company fails and its assets get distributed to investors, preferred shareholders must receive a fixed amount of money before common shareholders can get any of their investment back.
  11. Golf courses and hiking trails are open in Arizona even though we went on lockdown today and those are staying open it looks like.
  12. China's numbers are completely wrong and inaccurate. Their deat numbers only include patients that died from the virus and if they had any other symptoms beforehand like the flu or a respiratory issue those are not counted in their numbers also. Basically just throw away China's, Russia's and Iran's numbers as they are all inaccurate. I believe all three countries have stopped testing for the virus.

  21. The last I looked the death numbers per 100k people for the US is the same as South Korea at .2. Italy was at 9.4, Spain at 4.9, Iran 2.2, Switzerland 1.4, France 1.3, Netherlands 1.2, UK .5, South Korea .2, US .2 and Germany .1. Deaths per 100k population is a better read on the situation than the total number infected. The US is doing fine right now if the death rate increases to something closer to Iran then I am going to be more concerned with this.

  23. I believe most people are not adhering to the warnings of this virus because of the media. They have cried wolf so many times between 9/11 and now that people just blow them off as being overly dramatic.
  24. Hey I predicted something successfully. I am like genius now! I fully expect Newton to sign with the Patriots and then become this uber god MVP QB and then some team signs him next year to a stupid mega contract looking at you Raiders. Then he falls apart and is worse than Tim Couch.
  25. Manufacturing is definitely essential even if they are not making essential things for the virus. The plants can be retooled for one process to another. Engine parts are still needed, brakes, gears, clothing, etc. these things are still needed and are essential. We havent gone full on autonomous yet so these jobs are still essential.
