  1. Wolf his value really hasn't changed to steal a line from Green "they are who we thought they are" basically both Marcum and Wolf are who they are those two games are not going to change anyone's opinion about them. Marcum's value and Wolf's value really haven't changed over the two games. Wolf didn't gain more velocity on his fastball and neither did Marcum so they are basically the same pitcher. Now if they somehow gained velocity on their fastballs then yeah their value could change. With Marcum and Wolf it is all about location and fooling the batter so if they are not hitting their locations then they are going to be hit and hit hard. Nothing really has changed from that game to any of their previous games. The value that is added from their starts in the playoffs is just so small it doesn't really matter. The value that they create is that the GM that gets these players who do well in the playoffs can tell the fans that they got a pitcher who will do well in the playoffs just look at the last playoffs for evidence kind of stuff.
  2. Why? The manager is nothing more than a figure head in baseball. You might get one win out of a manager all year that is 1 win out of 162 games. I just don't get why fans get so upset about the manager in baseball it is not like they are calling plays like in football. A baseball manager is so insignificant just look at Dusty Baker and see what he has done with teams. Baker is not a good manager but somehow he has made it to the World Series and has managed other clubs to the playoffs. The reason being is because he really didn't have any impact on the team it was the talent that got them there. Managers are so overrated in baseball.
  3. One game will not have any impact on a players trade value. Why do people still believe that what a player does for one game sets their value? If Marcum would have thrown a 27 strike out perfect game on Tuesday his value wouldn't have increased because of that one game. If Marcum would have only lasted one inning on Tuesday his value wouldn't have decreased at all either. The same is true about Wolf. I just do not get this notion that this one game makes or breaks a players value. Marcum's value is going to be high this off season not because of what he did this season but because there is a shortage in good starting pitching this off season. Short of Jackson and Wilson there is no one on the market that are better. I would put Marcum ahead of Jackson and just behind Wilson as the best pitchers available this coming off season. With there being so many teams needing starting pitching this coming off season Marcum's value is not going to change all that much no matter what he does in the playoffs.
  4. Weeks looks lost at the plate. He needs to be sat or moved down.
  5. Rickie needs to be taken out of the 5 hole. He is hitting worse than McGehee right now uggg.
  6. The most memorable game I have been to was September 28th 2008. I still get chills from that game with Braun hitting that home run.
  7. Left when the gates opened at 4:30 probably missed you by 3 minutes - are you back tomorrow? Unfortunately no. I have a lot of work to catch up on now at the office since I took the day off yesterday.
  8. at sliders right now any1 else here? lets go brewers! lots of brewer fans here.
  9. I wonder if the Brewers could pick up Broxton in free agency on a 1-year incentive based deal. He could be a cheap option to replace either Krod, Hawkins, or Saito. This would be a really risky move though and I am not sure if the Brewers should do it. If healthy though Broxton would be a great asset to the bullpen as he can then be put in as the 8th inning pitcher. I would rather gamble with Broxton coming back and coming back strong than going with either Hawkins or Saito.
  10. What if he has as similar season again next year and helps the team return to the playoffs, then leaves in FA and nets the team compensation draft picks?Compensation picks may not exist in that FA year. Plus I would rather build for 2013-2018 than just for 2012. I believe the Brewers have another window of an opportunity again from that period.
  11. For me they won't. I prefer Marcum to be traded this off season as he gives the Brewers the most value in a trade.
  12. You could do that with Google Earth.
  13. I believe that Yount just has more ties with Milwaukee than Molitor does which is why I would guess that Yount gets more love.
  14. That is a very poor analogy as the two are not even comparable. For one the market for Prince was very low and it was very low for any 1B/DH type of a player in the trade market as the teams that needed a player like Prince were not going to be contending even with him so that made his trade value even less. There were also enough free agent players to fill a role that Prince would do at a lower cost and not cost a few good prospects. Now compare that to Marcum where you have the Yankees, Mariners, White Sox, Red Sox, Mets, Twins, and the Rangers all looking for starting pitching this off season and you have a perfect storm where there is going to be more demand than there will be supply of good pitchers. The Nationals and the Orioles could also be wild cards in this frenzy. The two situations really are not comparable at all the only thing they have similarities with each other is that each have only one year left and that is it the comparisons end right there. If the Yankees falter against Detroit they will be going after starting pitching hard this off season and since there really is only one good pitcher in free agency and that is CJ Wilson who is more than likely will be resigned by the Rangers that leaves the trade market to find a good #2 or #3 pitcher. I don't see the Yankees going after Jackson and if they do they still need another option for their #3 or #2 in their rotation. I am not sure the Yankees will continue to have the rotation they have right now and I believe the Yankees see Jackson as more of a Burnett type of a pitcher and I don't see them going down that road again. Now the Red Sox also have a hole in their rotation and you can bet they want to move Beckett and Lackey down to the #4 and 5 spot that leaves a spot at the #3 for someone to fill. Marcum would be the perfect fit for the Red Sox. That is just two teams who could use Marcum I am not even going to touch on the Twins, White Sox, Mets, Rangers, Nationals, Orioles, Tigers, and the Mariners. The list of teams that need starting pitching is long and the holes in the rotations of those teams are also just as bad as the Red Sox and the Yankees. I just can not see how Marcum's value is not higher than it ever will be this coming off season.
  15. Youk being the DH is probably more likely than anything else. There are some decent 3B options out there for next year that the Red Sox could go after like Ramirez. I think the Red Sox will try to get a trade done for an OF or put Lars Anderson out there.
  16. I will be at Game 3 undecided if I will attend game 4. But I am going to be in the LF bleachers for game 3 in section 143.
  17. No I wouldn't as Hart is to old and costs a lot the only good prospect coming my way would be Peralta. Both Green and Gamel have huge question marks. I would want something better than Green and Gamel along with Peralta for Heyward. Both Green and Gamel look to be average to below average respectively at their positions they would be at. Also unless Gamel can play the OF and he really hasn't shown he can yet I would have nowhere to play him as Freeman is 10 times better than Gamel. Green is interesting but at best he will be just above average at 3B. Really the only good player coming back that I would be able to use in Atlanta would be Peralta as Green and Gamel really are not top of the line prospects or players. I would not trade Heyward for anything less than at least three top prospects and I don't see the Brewers having that talent to give up.
  18. The Heyward rumors are the same ones that were around like last year with Justin Upton. He is available but you are going to have to give up your #1,2,3,4, and #5 prospects to get him. My proposal wouldn't even get an answer just a laugh as that wouldn't even be enough for Atlanta to move just Heyward let alone having another young pitching prospect in the mix.
  19. Not going to happen even with the year Heyward had. Would have to be something like Peralta/Hart/Gamel/Green for Heyward/Beachy.
  20. Francona as the Cubs manager for 2012 you can almost book it especially if Epstein is not going to be in Boston.
