  1. He is the same as all of the other managers in MLB. No real difference really. I don't see why everyone fusses so much over the managers.
  2. Yeah that quote is not spot on at all. The trend was made by the music industry itself when the industry sees a hot thing it jumps on it and you get copies of the same music all over the place. If anything the internet has helped more bands and people become recognized more so than anything else. Even with the internet downloading plenty of bands are still popular and there are still a whole lot of music being sold. I would say the illegal downloading has actually helped the increase of sales of concerts and merchandise for bands/artists. I don't think the music or entertainment industry have really been hit all that hard with the internet and all of the downloading that happens. Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, etc.. would probably be more popular if the internet was around then and the downloading wouldn't have had any real big negative effect on those bands at all.
  3. While I love Bell and would love for the Brewers to get him I don't see Boras advising him to take the money now even with the new changes coming to the draft with slotting. I believe Boras is going to do the same thing he told Teixeira and that is to go to college so he can get more money in the draft. Bell is going to be a top 5 pick talent player and he will get that money or more. Bell may just wait go to Texas and then come out and into the draft when he is 21 and be the #1 or #2 pick and get more money than he would now. Basically it is going to take #1 pick money to get Bell to sign and I am not sure the Brewers are willing to spend that much on Bell. I agree with X on his CJ Cron pick. If he is available at 15 the Brewers need to take him. The Brewers have absolutely no one in the minors right now with a bat like Cron's. There is no power hitting anything in the farm system for the Brewers right now. The Brewers really need to pick the best player available it doesn't matter if it is a fielder or a pitcher. Hopefully the Brewers just go with the best player available at 12 and 15.
  4. I haven't fished for Red Snappers or did any salt water fishing. Doing a search for tips on Red Snappers I have found some consistent advice in terms of bait which are sardines and cigar minnows. Hope that helps. Also what kind of artificial lures are you using? You might want to try a jig or some spoons probably a large spoon depending on the size of the fish. If I remember correctly Red Snappers can be rather large. From what I have read briefly about Red Snappers is that they are bottom feeders so you are going to need to be able to get towards the bottom. So for artificial I would use anything that will be able to sink towards the bottom and then bring it back up. Also make sure you are using the correct type of line. I know some fish are sensitive to the line that you are using. Might have to use a lighter line that has the same color to the water that you are fishing at. I hope this helps a little. I really haven't done much salt water fishing at all.
  5. I would like to see the DH added to the NL, international draft excluding players that are older than 29-years old, and the last game of the season is on August 31st with the playoffs starting the first weekend of September.
  6. Already have one Reyes topic. http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?t=24135/Jose-Reyes?page=1
  7. Yuck Sizemore. He is not a CF anymore he can not stay healthy he is really a corner OF now which kills his value. I would rather just stick with Gomez and Morgan for CF than sign Sizemore who will more than likely be injured.
  8. Gooden is about as good as Beasley which is not saying much. Plus Gooden is that veteran guy that the Wolves are looking for or are supposedly looking for. The Lakers are also looking to get rid of Bynum and since he has been injured the last two years he doesn't have all that much trade value. The Bucks would have to clear salary cap space in order to take Bynum on thats why Maggette would have to go with but I feel that Jennings would be more than enough to offset the Lakers having to take Maggette who could easily replace Artest if they get rid of Artest also.
  9. Probably the worst trade ever but, the Bucks send Gooden, first round pick this year and the Bucks first round pick next year for Beasley and Minnesota's first round pick this year. Then the Bucks trade Jennings and Maggette to the Lakers for Bynum and their 2012 first round pick. Bynum would slide over to the PF spot. The Bucks could then take either Brandon Knight or Kemba Walker with the #2 pick in this draft. Like I said probably the worst trade ever but the only teams I can see that would have some interest in Jennings would be the Lakers, Clippers, or the Mavericks. I wonder if the Bucks would get real explosive and just trade both Bogut and Jennings.
  10. 1 is from not signing their first round pick last year which is the #15 pick.
  11. Colby you think Alex Dickerson could be available for the Brewers to take during the second round? I haven't heard much about him lately has his stock really fallen that far since the beginning of the spring? Or are scouts just concerned that he is a 1B/DH type of a player?
  12. Weeks 2011 O-Swing% 23.7% http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=1849&position=2B#platediscipline For comparison Albert Pujols O-Swing% 22.4%http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=1177&position=1B#platediscipline
  13. I am sorry but this is just false especially for Weeks and Fielder.
  14. [quote name=Ennder wrote:[/b] No he doesn't. The only players who swing at more out of zone pitches than Braun are useless hitters like Betancourt and Gomez, no good Brewer hitters swing at more junk than Braun.Well so far this season Prince has swung at more out of the zone pitches than Braun has but over their careers Prince swings at less.
  15. Pujols must be a bad hitter because he swings at as many pitches out of the zone that Weeks does. DFA Weeks and Pujols!
  16. You forgot about Braun who swings at more out of the zone pitches than Weeks does.
  17. RIP Macho Man you were one of my favorite wrestlers. http://www.tmz.com/2011/05/20/randy-savage-car-accident-macho-man-dead-dies-died-killed-wwe-wrestler-florida/
  18. There is no way Lindor gets past the Mets.
  19. Offensively yes but defensively I don't think so. I would have a hard time calling Young equal to Betancourt defensively at SS.
  20. There definitely isn't any super star like talent but there is some talent in this draft class. Most of the talent are roster filler guys but that is still valuable a bunch of Mbah A Moute's are available in this draft. So there is still some value in this draft it is just not all that high. The international guys are not even all that good in this draft either. With the draft being this weak the trade I proposed may actually work with Minnesota though I am not sure how strong next years draft really is going to be. It looks to be rather weak as this years draft.
  21. The Bucks really need someone who can shoot either it be from off the bench or starting so Alec Burks makes some sense with the #10 pick. Burks though needs to work on his shooting but he is very athletic and can drive to the basket. But I think the Bucks could work out a trade with Minnesota. But there is a problem with your trade Minnesota would have to trade over two players in order to fit Maggette into the salary cap. A more realist trade would be Beasley and the #2 for the Bucks #10 pick, 2nd round pick, and Gooden that would fit with the cap. I think the Bucks would have to add in their 1st round for next year instead of the 2nd round pick this year for that to work and if the Bucks trade down they should take Brandon Knight with the #2 pick. Derrick Williams might be the better pick at that spot for the Bucks. I wouldn't be surprised if Detroit or Toronto make a trade with Minnesota for the #2 pick.
