  1. No, it was on Casey's heel of the glove when he had it. If it was in the pocket sure you could blame Casey there but that is mostly Wilson's fault on that one.
  2. The best move would be having Davis in LF and Gamel in RF with Braun moving to 1B.
  3. With the troubles that Braun has been having with injuries the past few years I am beginning to become concerned over him staying healthy in the OF. I wonder if moving Braun to 1B might be a wise move in the next few years.
  4. And when was the last time he was healthy?
  5. If the Cubs want to contend in 2012 trading ARam away will not hurt them in contending in 2012. ARam is the least of the Cubs concerns pitching and an aging player at nearly every position besides 2B, SS, and Catcher is not good. Tyler Colvin is nice but other than him only Castro is another decent young player on the Cubs team. I don't see Barney being anything special either. There is also the concerns with the Cubs rotation as there really isn't that many good pitchers in it. Garza is nice but after him there are just a bunch of #3's and #5 and #6 type pitchers. The Cubs are not going to be contending in 2012 if they trade ARam away or if they keep ARam with the holes that the team currently has.
  6. A really good pitcher. I wouldn't be surprised if the Rays traded Shields for Rasmus but that would be more of a trade they would make during the off season than right now. The Padres would make a fit though they do have Maybin in CF right now I am not sure if they are ready to give up on him yet but if there was a trade I would say Bell would be coming to the Cardinals then. The Nationals also have had interest in Rasmus but I am not sure there is anyone on the Nationals other than prospects that the Cardinals would receive in return for Rasmus from them. If the Cardinals trade Rasmus for Bell that will be one of the dumbest trades and should get their GM fired the next day type of a move. I don't like the Cardinals but I don't see them moving Rasmus right now maybe in the off season for someone like Shields I could see that happening but not right now.
  7. I have been to the Rave a few times and the one time that I did do the VIP thing it sucked. It is first come first serve and the view isn't all that great. The other times I have been on the floor and that is perfect.
  8. I wonder with the NBA lockout if there will even be a 2011/2012 season at all. It doesn't look all that promising that there will be a full NBA season.
  9. Already being discussed here.
  10. I just recently moved to Phoenix and was thinking about catching a game or two here when the Brewers are in town.
  11. Brett Lawrie is batting .354 with a 1.092 OPS and 15 HR's in 223 AB's with Las Vegas in AAA ball, and he has started every game at 3B.The Brewers didn't see him as a 3B since they had tried him out at OF and 2B mostly. Also with Gamel and Green at 3B in AAA where would Lawrie play? The answer is in the OF or 2B. I am not sure Lawrie would be good in the OF but that is where the Brewers would have played him in AAA.
  12. The system would be extremely strong right now if it had all the prospects Melvin traded away this past offseason. Lawrie and Odorizzi are potential superstars. There is a time to trade prospects and a time to keep those prospects. With Weeks being signed long term I don't see Lawrie having a position with the Brewers. The teams that Prince could have been traded to didn't really want Prince as they already had players at that position. If Prince were to be traded it would have been two seasons ago that is when his value would have been the highest and the fans would have killed Melvin for doing that. Trading away Odorizzi and Lawrie was a good move by Melvin it brought in two very good pitchers in Marcum and Greinke.
  13. Wasted resources acquiring Linebrink and Lopez? None of the players Melvin gave up are nothing special for either of those players. With the Linebrink trade it is a trade that every GM makes almost every year. Offering Linebrink arbitration and getting the picks that actually turned out better than the players Melvin traded away. When Melvin traded Lopez he traded a no named never going to be anything but a AAAA player. That is not wasting resources as the Brewers have plenty of those guys and players like that are not in short order. The Linebrink trade had some long term benefits you may want to ignore those long term benefits but there was a long term benefit there. A lot of the problems the Brewers have in the minor system can be attributed to Jack Z. You can not praise him for the success of the system and then blame Melvin for the failures of the system.
  14. Bullpen help is probably the biggest need. The good thing is that there are some good bullpen options available. Francisco Rodriguez is probably the most realistic person the Brewers could get. Bench depth is the only other problem but there are options in the minors. I don't see 3B as that big of a problem as Gamel/Green could fill in if McGehee stays this bad. As for SS there are some options in the trade market but I'm not sure the Brewers should trade the pieces needed to get a good SS.
  15. I would rather the Brewers target Beltran than Rivera.
  16. K-Rod would look nice in the bullpen right now.
  17. You know, I've never seen a guy swing and miss, but there must have been one instance of a whiff some time in the past years, no? I googled it but couldn't find anything.Mike Piazza swung and whiffed a few times in the home run derby contest.
  18. Because it is only for half a season and Hardy isn't Reyes or a big name player who is going to get a huge return in a trade. The Orioles will probably get one or two B type prospects for Hardy but nothing more than that. Hardy if he is smart will test free agency as that is where he will get more value in return than resigning with the Orioles.
  19. There is zero chance that the Orioles get to extend Hardy. I don't see those negotiations going anywhere. I also don't see the Orioles getting a lot in return for Hardy as he is injury prone he will probably hit the DL one more time this year and go on a month long slump.
  20. Yankees often add pieces they don't really need. It would not be far fetched to see them trade for Hardy to spell Jeter a few times per week and I could even see them toying with having Hardy spell A-Rod at 3rd every now and then. The Yankees have done some stupid things but this will not be one of them as their offense is perfectly fine and I don't see them adding or changing anything to their offense. Pitching is their biggest concern right now. Seattle would be a prime landing spot for Hardy - especially given the Jack Z connection, don't know why you'd discount them so easily since they are also in need of offense and their current SS is Brendan Ryan. Rays are also in desperate need for help at SS. Why would Seattle trade for Hardy and give up guys when they could just sign him in the off season and not give up any player in their current season? The Rays do not really need a SS as the two players they have right now are fine. The Rays will probably look at adding a piece to their bullpen rather than a SS. Oakland is not going to be in contention to be able to do a trade as they are going to be sellers rather than buyers. Teams normally do not work out a trade and then get an extension at the trade deadline maybe in a video game but not in reality. The Pirates are also not going to trade for Hardy as they are not really contenders. There are ZERO obstacles for the Brewers to trade for Hardy other than the Orioles demands for prospects.
  21. If the NL loses the game partially because of poor fielding by Prince and the Crew go on to make the Series that would be a real kick in the nuts to lose the advantage. The defense at 1B is not going to be a problem especially with Berkman, Braun, and Holliday as the three outfielders. That has to be the worst OF defensively ever in MLB. I wonder if the NL manager can have Berkman play DH instead of the OF. That OF defense is going to be ugly.
  22. Jeter is not going to be moved off of SS and he won't be the DH. Jeter isn't very good but he isn't going anywhere.
  23. There are a number of teams in the AL that could use an upgrade at SS too that could take a run at Hardy - not to mention, all the latest rumors have the O's trying to extend Hardy rather than trade him. What teams in the AL need a SS that are in contention right now? The Yankees don't need a SS, the Red Sox don't need a SS, the Tigers don't need a SS, the Rangers don't need a SS, the Indians don't need a SS, and the Rays do not need a SS. So which team in the AL exactly needs a SS?
  24. There are only three teams that look like they will need a SS with a fourth team maybe out of it (Cardinals) that are in need of a SS. The Brewers, Cardinals, Giants, and Reds are the four teams that I can see that need a SS. I don't see Reyes going to any of the four teams. That leaves Furcal and Hardy as the top picks with Hardy being the highest on the list. It will all depend on how much of a demand these teams make for Hardy. I think the Reds can go with Janish and Renteria as I don't see them parting with the pitching prospects the Orioles would want. The Giants may get involved but would they be willing to give up one of their top prospects for a half a year of Hardy? The Cardinals if they are still in it probably make the most sense for a Hardy destination to be truthful. I think they will dump a prospect or two to see how far they can go with Pujols before he hits free agency and the unknown for the Cardinals. The Cardinals really need pitching more so than anything else they really do not have a number one or a number two in their rotation right now. Most of the Cardinals rotation is a bunch of #3's, 5's and 6th starters. That leaves the Brewers and I am not sure Melvin will trade any of the pitching prospects he has left. I am not sure that the Brewers are even a fit for a match with the Orioles prospect wise to make a trade happen.
