1. If you go from a pitchers friendly ballparks in the NL West to a more batter friendly ballpark in the NL Central then yes. You would see Loney's slugging percentage increase over than what he is currently doing in the NL West. I don't see how his numbers wouldn't increase taking into account the type of ballparks he would be playing in compared to the ones he is currently playing in the NL West.
2. When you are up 20-0 you don't have to throw your best stuff. I bet all of them or nearly all of them were strikes that caught a big portion of the plate.
3. And that is only two years small sample size. Loney is only 25 years old calling him a candidate for being non-tender is just lunacy. If Loney would play the majority of his games in the NL Central I believe his numbers would increase especially his power numbers. Loney to me is very comparable to Derrek Lee. I wouldn't be surprised if Loney were in the NL Central his numbers would look a lot like Derrek Lee's numbers.
4. A non-tender candidate that has a career line like this? And this is playing the NL West that has only two parks that are hitter friendly the other three are pitcher friendly. Since when is a near .300 hitter a non-tender candidate? PLITSGABRH2B3BHRRBIBBSOSBCSAVGOBPSLGOPSCareer4771680210497881745272153223188.296.354.449.803
5. I wonder if the Brewers could trade Prince for Loney plus a couple of prospects from the Dodgers. Manny is probably not going to be brought back by the Dodgers next year and they are going to need someone to hit behind Kemp and Ethier. Prince would make sense for the Dodgers though that divorce could make that financial decision very sticky. I'm not sure who the Brewers could get with Loney being in the mix or who the Dodgers would be willing to give up in their farm system. I believe this was Loney's first arby year this year. I wonder if the Brewers could lock up Loney for something like 5 years at $45-50m which wouldn't be a bad deal. Loney definitely isn't as good offensively as Prince but I think his defense could definitely make up for it where the Brewers wouldn't be losing out value wise. If the right pitching prospect would be added to the deal I think the Brewers could actually pull even on this trade. Not my favorite trade but one I would consider. I definitely think the Brewers could lock up Loney to a deal that would be rather team friendly. I'm just not sure if the value of Loney plus a prospect or two would be a good haul for Prince.
6. Ellsbury would be a bad player to trade for the Brewers already have a glut of OF in the minors Cain, Schafer, Gindl, Gamel, and Lawrie. All of those players could or are OF at this time. Ellsbury makes very little sense organization wise.
7. Millwood maybe a decent pitcher to pick up at the deadline he will only be owed about $9m. I'm not sure what the Orioles would want in return though. Millwood would be a 1-year rental and he shouldn't cost all that much. I don't see any #1 type pitchers who will be on the trade market this summer maybe Lee if the Mariners are out of it but I doubt the Mariners will give Lee up without asking for a lot of prospects in return.
8. If you are talking about the Hardy trade during last off season and the number 5 starter Melvin was talking about was Sanchez and the Giants wanted both Hart and Hardy for Sanchez. Which would make absolutely no sense for the Brewers to trade both Hart and Hardy last off season for Sanchez. That would be overpaying for Sanchez Hardy alone coming off the year he had would have been overpaying. As for trading Fielder I wouldn't want Ellsbury as the center piece that I am sure of. Cain, Schafer, and Gomez are already options and I don't see a huge gap between those three and Ellsbury that I would want to trade Fielder for Ellsbury +. There is not that many suitors out there for Prince in a trade it basically comes down to Boston as the main front runner and they look to be looking at Gonzalez more so than Fielder. I see people on here saying that Gamel or someone else would be playing 1B if Fielder is gone I actually see someone else being moved to 1B instead and that person would be Braun. Braun has had some issues with his back and ribs area along with the Brewers having a lot of prospects in the OF moving Braun from LF to 1B makes a lot of sense. I wouldn't be surprised if Prince is not retained if the Brewers moved Braun from LF to 1B and placed Gamel or Lawrie in one of the corner OF spots.
9. Sort of. I don't think they sell the one I have I was looking for the one I bought on their website and couldn't find it but it is basically like that one.
10. I just went to radioshack and picked up one for about $30. It picks up all the channels decently except when the microwave gets turned on then all channels get lost but that is another problem. I set my grandmother's up last summer and none of the TV's she has in her house have the amplified antenna just an old rabbit ears antenna and she picks up all of the channels listed: Call Sign Channel Network WTMJ-DT 4.1 NBC WITI-DT 6.1 FOX WMKE-CA 7 BOX WMVS-DT 10.1 PBS WISN-DT 12.1 ABC WVTV-DT 18.1 CW WCGV-DT 24.1 MNT WVCY-DT 30.1 REL WMVT-DT 36.1 PBS WBWT-LP 38 AZA WBWT-LD 38.1 AZA WMLW-CA 41 IND WBME-DT 49.1 IND WPXE-DT 55.1 ION WDJT-DT 58.1 CBS WYTU-LP 63 TEL I'm not sure of the model for the Antenna that I am using right now all I know is I get all of them and then some that come in and go.
11. I live in Franklin so I am close to the area you live in. For my TV in my room I just use an indoor amplified antenna that I got from Radio Shack and I get all of the local channels. About 40 of them I believe.
12. You guys are way to serious.
13. More to do with the pitchers not hitting their spots than anything really. Just going off of memory of the base hits and the home runs that have come on with 2 outs have been mistake pitches or pitches that have gotten to much of the plate.
14. Bob is just not cutting it lately he has been messing up the score in the last couple of games. I think it is time for the Brewers to DFA Uecker. He is just getting way to old and I believe his age is showing right now with him making mistakes with the score. The Brewers should either trade or DFA Uecker. Does Uecker have any options left at this time?
15. My bad I forgot about his option that vests.
16. I don't see the Brewers making a deal for Oswalt. I don't see the Brewers giving up what would be needed to land Oswalt which would be something like Lawrie and Arnett plus a couple of lower prospects. The Astros are going to be looking to refill their very depleted minor league system if they decide to deal Oswalt and if Oswalt is dealt you can bet that Berkman will be more than likely traded also along with Lee if the Astros could find anyone to take Lee that is. All three of those players the Astros would be looking to get back at least 1 A type prospect and 1 type B prospect. I don't see the Brewers parting with the starting pitching in the minors that they would have to part with in order to get Oswalt. I would think if anything the Brewers would trade for someone who would be a slight upgrade someone like Arroyo, Harang, Ordonez, Webb, Pierzynski (I know I am dreaming right?), and some others who maybe available. Harang or Arroyo are probably going to be the target for Melvin. If Hart and Edmonds flop and the Tigers are out of it maybe Magglio or DeJesus would make sense. I'm not sure what the Tigers would want in return for Magglio but it shouldn't be all that much for a 1/2 year rental maybe someone like Green plus a couple other prospects would work. Not sure what the Tigers would need in a return for Magglio.
17. Bush doesn't look worse than last year only giving up 4 runs to the Cardinals is not that bad. I don't see where Bush is worse than he was last year at this point.
18. Does Arizona really play in a pitcher friendly park? I know the dimensions are in the pitchers favor but the ball carries very well in Arizona. Found this for 2009. I'm not sure you can say that the NL West is mainly a pitchers haven you do have San Diego, San Francisco, and Los Angeles but Arizona and Colorado are neutral to hitter friendly. 19. Same thing happened to me. I love Sothern Comfort over Crown Royal. Jameson, Johnnie Walker, and Jack Daniels are better whiskey's though if you are looking for the hard stuff.
20. Dye being one of those players being faded out.
21. Escobar's play last year deep in the hole in ss and he then gunned someone out that was a great play. Kapler's dive into the seats against the Dodgers. Jenkins diving catch in RF against the Yankees I believe Jeter was batting. I wish I could find that play online somewhere because that was an awesome catch by Jenkins. There are others that were great also just ones that I can remember for Brewers. If anything you can just look up Griffey's early years and you are bound to find some great plays.
22. I'll never go into an In Game Thread when Suppan is pitching again. I love Southern Comfort though it is not the best.
23. Brantley is the real player you should be upset about losing than LaPorta.
24. Gomez doesn't walk enough to be the lead off hitter. If Gomez could improve his plate discipline then definitely put him in the lead off spot and put Weeks at the #2 or #5 spot. But until Gomez learns how to take some pitches and work the count he won't be a good lead off hitter. I like the lineup for the most part except for Edmonds batting 5th otherwise the lineup is rather fine the way it is right now.
25. But he has the greatest website ever though!
