  1. Yes they should and salary relief.
  2. The goggles are rather expensive and I doubt you will find any under $100. If you have a 360 or a PS3 and if there are any prestige edition COD: MW2 left you could get that game and the NV Goggles that come with them for about $150 I believe. 360 version of it. If you don't want to go that route gander mountain has these for $269.99 That is the cheapest I could find any of the night vision goggles. Might want to try some military surplus stores though they may have some for around $200-300. Fixed the link for the gander mountain ones.
  3. The only two players I really wanted the Bucks to get in the 2008 draft were Gordon and Mayo both of whom I think will be good to great SG Gordon more so than Mayo though.
  4. Suppan's contract is not that bad since if the Braves traded Lowe straight up for Suppan they would have a lot of salary relief which would allow them to extend Vazquez another year or two. The Braves would be saving about $28m over the next three years ('10,'11, and '12 )by trading Lowe for Suppan. If the Braves are really looking to cut salary then they would be stupid not to do this kind of a deal. That $28m could easily translate into a FA or extending Vazquez a couple of years. On the other hand the Brewers would be dumb to accept this trade. It would make their financial situation even worse than what it is currently.
  5. Not tanking to get Lebron or Wade just tanking because they put the worst team together in the history of sports. (OK that is a really big overstatement but it is nearly true) I have no idea what the Knicks are trying to do with their team. It is obvious that they are going for broke and are relying on Lebron or Wade to come on the market which I doubt they will. This is the problem with the Knicks they are banking their whole future on if Lebron or Wade become available as free agents. At least the Bucks are not the Knicks and putting all of their eggs in one basket like the Knicks are.
  6. At least the Bucks are not the Knicks that is all I have to say. That team is a joke and they are obviously just not even competing this year just to have a chance to sign either Lebron or Wade after the season.
  7. No. Wang only has 2 more years left the same amount as Prince has left.
  8. Wow how unclassy of the people who voted for the NL Gold Gloves how could they not give Baseball Jesus the NL 1B Gold Glove award.
  9. He wouldn't be ready for the start of the year supposedly. But Wang would be ready by May or June I believe. With that said I believe Wang is still someone the Brewers should go after. It shouldn't cost all that much to get Wang signed I would rather sign Wang over Mulder to be honest even though Mulder will be available to go at spring training and the Brewers would have to wait until May or June to see what Wang could do. Wang is just a better pitcher than Mulder and I would rather just have Wang being depth in AAA and if he recovers by June or July he would be more effective than Mulder would be.
  10. Because it is. When I am talking about it being Harts last year I am talking about the next coming season as it being Harts final year with the Brewers. Since we are in the off season now I'm just calling this the start of the 2010 season so I am referring to the next upcoming season when I say it is his last year. Hart is someone the Brewers can walk away from. The Brewers have Gamel, Cain, Schafer, Gerut, and a whole bunch of free agents who could fill in the void that was lost in trading Hart or non tendering him. Hart will be making at least $4m next season at a minimum but will probably get something around $5 or $6m.
  11. If I was Hughes I would be demanding a trade if the Yankees bring in another veteran pitcher to take his spot in the rotation. Joba should be a reliever that is where he is best used at the Red Sox figured this out with Papelbon I don't know why the Yankees still insist he is a starter. Joba has more value to the Yankees as a reliever than he does as a starter but that is just my opinion.
  12. The Brewers already have a lot of utility players and infield positional players on the roster. DeRosa would be redundant since McGehee is very comparable to DeRosa.
  13. I would rather sign Nady over Byrd. Byrd is going to cost a lot more compared to Nady. Plus the Brewers have Gerut who can slide over to CF if Gomez is not producing. I wouldn't mind trading Hart for McCarthy as I believe Hart maybe non tendered by the Brewers if they can not find a trade.
  14. Just saw it on ESPN this morning that Kareem has a rare form of leukemia. This is sad to hear that one of the greatest basketball players of all time has this disease I hope everything goes well for him and his family. ESPN Link.
  15. Hart is an odd case it is his last year on the Brewers so he could be non tendered also. I think Melvin is going to try and trade Hart because he is playing a position that the Brewers could easily replace at a lower cost with either Gamel or a free agent and then have a platoon in RF. Hart just looks to me as an odd man out. I wouldn't be surprised if Hart gets traded or is non tendered.
  16. Have you looked at Washburn's GB/FB rate? It worse than Looper's and Suppan's and look what they did last year. Having a bad GB/FB rate in the NL Central wouldn't be a good idea. The FB's that were outs in Seattle and even Detroit will be HR's in nearly every park in the NL Central. As for Clay it would take Gamel, Lawrie, Scarpetta/Odorizzi, and a PTBNL. You are not going to be getting Clay on anything less than that.
  17. I like Xavier Nady if Hart gets traded. A Nady and Gerut platoon in RF would be nice.
  18. Yuck. Washburn is washed up and so is Davis. That trade for Buchholtz wouldn't be enough Wooten has very little value and Parra is rebuilding his value and Gamel is the only player the Red Sox would actually be interested in. The rotation would be horrible you just basically switched out Suppan with Washburn and Looper with Davis. Washburn is the left handed version of Suppan and Davis is just Davis.
  19. The same reason behind the signing of Suppan here a few years ago. A pitcher that can pitch every five days who has veteran leadership also the showing the fans we are trying to win signing that a lot of the fans are yelling for.
  20. The Dodgers are unlikely to get involved and have been rumored to not being able to resign Wolf. Also the Angels have Vlad who they need to resign and they have already resigned Abreu. I don't see the Angels being much of a big player in a Lackey deal. Remember the Dodgers owner is going through a rather sticky divorce so that is going to have an effect on what they do. The Yankees have Hughes and Chamberlain who can be put in the 4-5 spot in their rotation. Pettite will be coming back for another year. The Yankees will also be extending Rivera for another 5-years this off season and that is not going to be cheap. The Yankees will probably go after Holliday or Bay instead of Matsui and Damon so any money saved there will be gone with one of those two. I believe it will be down to Washington, Milwaukee, and Detroit for Lackey. Washington was willing to give Teixeira a huge contract last year so I wouldn't be surprised if they offer Lackey a huge contract also.
  21. Too much right now. Gamel, pitcher, positional player, and a PTBNL should get it done right now.
  22. Weeks should really be a #2 or #5 hitter more so a #2 but I like Gamel in the #2 spot over Weeks though. If Gomez had a better OBP I would put him up at the lead off spot and move Weeks down to the #5 hole and have McGehee in the 6th spot. 1. Gomez (CF) 2. Gamel (RF) 3. Braun (LF) 4. Fielder (1B) 5. Weeks (2B) 6. McGehee (3B) 7. Salome/Lucroy/Rivera/FA © 8. Escobar (SS) 9. Pitcher But obviously Gomez doesn't have the OBP skills needed to be at the top of the order and the Brewers look reluctant to move Gamel to the OF. Athletically Gamel could play the OF and he could transition there about as well as Braun and Hart did take that as a good or a bad compliment for Gamel. Gamel should really be the teams #2 hitter behind someone like Gomez or Escobar. I would rather see Weeks in the 5th or 6th spot in the lineup but he could also be a good #2 hitter behind Gomez or Escobar.
  23. No UZR for catchers over at fangraphs so you are going to have to use fielding percentage and the eye test to judge this one.
  24. If I remember the trade correctly Happ wasn't even in the discussion as in the Phillies were not going to let him go.
  25. If the Phillies were not willing to give up Happ for Lee why would they give him up for Gamel?
