  1. Camby would be a throw in since he is usually injured almost every year. This also clears cap space for the Nuggets to sign someone. The 8th pick would be enough and plus what they get back in cap space would be enough for the Nuggets. They will be getting Camby back with Randolph.
  2. I was playing around with the NBA Trade Machine and I know this deal would never go through but it is interesting. 4 team trade the Bucks send Michael Redd and Bobby Simmons to the Cavaliers, the Cavaliers send Ben Wallace and Damon Jones to the Knicks, the Knicks send Jared Jeffries and Zach Randolph to the Nuggets, and the Nuggets send Carmelo Anthony and Marcus Camby to the Bucks. The trade would be a dream except for the Bucks getting Camby. I know the Cavs were interested in Redd when he was a free agent. Maybe they will try and go for Redd in the off season to help out Lebron. Would be an interesting trade though I'm not sure Carmelo would like to come to Milwaukee and I'm not sure that this would be a good trade for the Knicks or the Nuggets but it is a great trade for the Bucks and Cavs. Maybe the Bucks send the #8 pick to the Nuggets also.
  3. I'm trying to forget the late 90's and early 2000 years. Nothing good ever came of those years for the Brewers. Well maybe the Sexson deal but that was about it. D'Amico was suppose to be our ace and the future of our team that didn't pan out to well but draft picks hardly ever do pan out very good. Wasn't Jenkins also someone Taylor drafted? Or was that in the Bando time?
  4. I guess that means we are either trading out of this pick or taking Augustin if available.
  5. Didn't Belliard eat his way out of team. I remember the first year he was with the Brewers he did awesome and was touted as one of the best 2B prospects. When he came back from the off season he went from Rickie Weeks type of a player weight wise to Prince Fielder weight wise. That was the biggest disappointment from Belliard. Dean Taylor wasn't as bad as some people say he was but he isn't better than Melvin. I'm not sure Taylor could have done any better with last years team or could have helped this team this year either. Players still don't want to come to Milwaukee and why would you when you can play in Boston or New York and be on ESPN nearly every night. The philosophy that Taylor tried to do is what really killed the Brewers.
  6. Either Gordon or Mayo would be an improvement over Redd.

I wouldn't want either batting in the #5 spot ever. If the Brewers move Weeks down in the batting order it gets even worse. Weeks in the 5th spot would be equally as bad as putting Hall or Hardy in the 5th spot. Putting Cameron in the 5th spot would also be a bad idea. Right now Hart is where he should be. Hart has to be in the 5th spot it is the best spot for him to be hitting in right now. If you put Hart in the #1 spot you lose the production in the 5th spot. Now you have replaced a minor hole and made a major hole in the lineup. You just made the team worse than it was by moving Hart to the lead off spot. Putting Hart at lead off would be a huge mistake.
  8. I like that pick but that doesn't really help us on the scoring side of the ball. I guess you could move Yi to the SF spot. I'm not sure Yi is athletic enough to be a SF. I would rather draft Mayo but if we are not in the top 5 I don't see a problem with drafting Lopez.
  9. If the Bucks get a top 5 pick who do they pick? Assuming they get a #3, 4, or 5 pick who do they take at those spots? If the Bucks get the #3 pick do you take Mayo with the #3 pick or do you take Gordon? The only obvious pick that I see if the Bucks get the #1 or #2 pick is to take Beasley or Rose. Or do the Bucks trade out of the top 5 assuming they get a top 5 pick? I would rather the Bucks trade Redd or Williams for a later first round pick.
  10. Arod is not going to kick start the Yankees into winning. They will be above .500 when Arod comes back but I don't see him and him alone making the Yankees that much better and winning a lot of games. The Yankees have a lot of pitching problems a lot of it is due to their starting pitching. Mussina is almost done, Hughes is injured again (injury prone?), Kennedy is struggling, Wang the only bright spot in the Yankees rotation, and I don't even know who their 5th guy is. Lots of problems for the Yankees and Arod coming back is not going to help those problems. The Tigers are actually as good as the Brewers are. Their starting pitching is one of the worst in MLB. Their rotation actually looks rather similar to the Brewers rotation. Verlander their best pitcher = Sheets, Rogers = Suppan, Bonderman = Bush, Galarraga = Villanueva, Robertson = Parra and Willis = Capuano. Yes some of the pitchers I named are better than their counterparts. Verlander and Sheets are about equal even though Sheets is having a better year right now than Verlander. I believe the Tigers are in more trouble than the Brewers are. The Cubs rotation isn't that great it is comparable to what we had with Gallardo. Without Gallardo the Cubs rotation is better. But the Brewers have an easier mountain to climb than the Tigers or even the Yankees have to climb. The Tigers I don't even think will make the playoffs now unless they somehow land a deal where they get some starting pitching help. The Yankees could make the playoffs but it depends on how well the Rays play the rest of the year I don't think that there will be 2 teams from the AL East in the playoffs though. I just don't see where all the doom and gloom for the Brewers is coming from. We have gotten off to a bad start but it is only May yet. We still have 4 months of games to play yet.
  11. To be fair anytime a pitchers throws a hanging curve it gets crushed the majority of the time. Beckett did that to Hardy and the ball was gone and I believe Braun also had a hanger that he hit for a home run. Also when a power pitcher leaves a fastball over the middle of the plate the majority of the time they are not going to over power the hitter. So bad things are likely to follow no matter if you are throwing in the upper 90's or in the mid to upper 80's.
  12. Probably just a status report with Kremblas and the rest of the coaches at Nashville.
  13. I don't think we have any pieces to trade for LaRoche. The Dodgers have a lot of players who they have that can ply the OF with Kemp and Ethier. The only other spot Hall could take would be 2B if the Dodgers believe this is Kent's last year. I'm not sure we have anything the Dodgers would be interested in to trade LaRoche for.
  14. If you are going to improve the defense you are going to have to move Gamel to either 1B or a corner OF spot. Hall is above and beyond Gamel defensively at 3B. It would be like having Braun at 3B but probably a lot worse than what Braun did at 3B.
  15. Trade Sheets for Ian Kennedy, Phil Hughes, and Chris Britton. Would probably have to throw in another player for this trade to work though.
  16. Not calling up Branyan and allowing Dillon to play 1B in the first game was a mistake. I don't see why Dillon and Gwynn are on the team. Both add nothing to the team. Counsell and Kapler both do the same things that Gwynn and Dillon do. I really don't see the need to have Gwynn and Dillon on the team.
  17. This road trip is kind of like the one we had last year when we went to Detroit and then to Minnesota. Of course the no hit game against Detroit and they we took the next two from Detroit and won 2 out of 3 and then took the next series against Minnesota. Weren't the Twins on fire at the time we were playing them in Minnesota?
  18. I would rather like to see Branyan come up and send Gwynn down and bring up another bullpen arm.
  19. 1) Depends who is available. Do we go after Sabathia in the off season? I doubt we would be able to sign him even if we had the money to do so. It doesn't look like Sabathia would come to Milwaukee he will probably sign with the Angels, Dodgers, or the Yankees. Sabathia would be the #1 option for Hank to go after since they missed on Santana. If the Yankees don't get Sabathia look for Hank to explode especially if he goes to Boston or the Mets. The only other two pitchers who are free agents in this upcoming off season that are deserving of a big contract IMHO are Ben Sheets and Brad Penny. I would take Sheets over Penny. Let someone else over pay for Penny. Other than Sheets and Penny you have Francisco Rodriguez but I doubt the Angels will just let him walk away. 2) Of course the Cubs will go into the tank once they start playing some more road games. The Cubs are currently 8-9 on the road. Their road series losses have come to teams of the Phillies, Reds, and Washington. The Cubs are also 2-4 against the Brewers and that is with all the games being played at Wrigley. Edmonds will also help the Cubs lose some games on the road he is not a good pick up at all. 3) I love Manny but he does get on my nerves from time to time. I am getting sick of the Manny being Manny phrase though.
  20. If we are going to trade away Laporta or Gamel for a closer I would rather have Houston Street.
  21. If Prince needs a day off and there is a RHP going for the opposing team putting Branyan at 1B wouldn't be as big of a drop off in production as would happen if you put Dillon in. Thats why Branyan makes a good backup 1B. Branyan probably at most would get 5 starts at 1B. He would get more starts at 3B though.
  22. Giving Prince a day off in Boston would be a good thing since you could put him in as the DH for a game or two. Giving Prince a day off here and there would be a good thing especially when he is struggling at the plate. Putting Branyan in on a day where Prince is struggling at the plate when a RHP is up wouldn't be much of a drop off in production as having Dillon filling in for Prince against a day off when either facing a RHP or a LHP. I would rather see Branyan getting starts over Dillon since the production lost either by replacing Hall or Fielder is greater than what you would get if Dillon starts on that day.
  23. If Branyan is called up could he play 1B also? This could give Prince a day off in Boston without taking him out of the lineup. I can see Branyan coming up and giving Hall a couple of days off here and there and also giving Prince a few days off also. To me Branyan is more likely to be called up than anyone else mentioned here.
  24. Having the pitcher bat 8th has actually worked if you look at the stats. Having Hart hit leadoff is a bad idea. If you put Hart in the leadoff spot and Weeks in the 7th spot you lose production out of the 5th spot and lose protection for Prince. I love Hall but he is not a good #5 hitter he is best left at the 6th spot in the lineup. Hardy won't give Fielder any protection at all since he doesn't have as good of power as Hall or Hart. Now if you move Weeks down you have a big gaping hole in the 5th spot that you can't fill with the current players on the team. Also if you put the pitcher batting 9th when Kendall is catching you are now basically putting Counsell in front of the pitcher. Kendall will be useless at the 8th spot. The lineup right now the way it is is the best it can be.
  25. Off topic but has there ever been a left handed closer? Plesac is the only one that comes to my mind.
