  1. The defense wasn't the problem last night or today. The walks is what was the problem the last two games. I believe it was about 20 walks in the last 2 games. Thats 10 walks a game that is a lot of walks and a lot of run potential. You give any team in the MLB 10 walks a game and they will score a ton of runs.
  2. The Bucks need to rebuild heavily. Not a single player on the team except for Bogut or Yi you could really build on that is currently on the team. It is time to part ways with Redd and Williams. One or both need to go. It will be interesting to see where the Bucks draft in the first round this year and who they will draft. My guess will be either a PG or a SF type of a player.
  3. Now that we have gotten a new coach the next step the Bucks need to take is trading away Redd, Williams, Villanueva, and Simmons. Maybe trade Redd away for a first round draft pick.
  4. I only catch Mike and Mike in the morning on ESPN2 when I get up before I go to work and listen to them in the car. I like Outside the Lines though and the Sunday morning Sports Center because of the guy that does OTL is hosting SC.

Also look at least years pitches per inning. 17.1 is a rather high number for a reliever to have. That means he was either left in to long especially for what he was being used for last year as a setup man. Everyone agrees that Villanueva got worn down near the end of the year last year. Why doesn't Turnbow get the same treatment? If you look at how many games Turnbow lost for the Brewers last year it wasn't any worse than anyone else in the bullpen did last year. Its just everyone remembering only the bad that Turnbow did last year. Every time Turnbow did something good last year it was oh just wait until his next outing he will blow up then. Turnbow is adequate for the bullpen that we have. You can't have every single pitcher in the bullpen being the best. Look at my comment from before. Even the Yankees have two very bad relievers in their pen with Farnsworth and Hawkins. Turnbow is still a serviceable relief pitcher if he is used correctly.
  6. Turnbow last year was over worked even though the number of appearances doesn't show that. Even with the stats that I will show you won't even show you how over worked he was. Because the stats do not include pitches thrown in the bullpen. SEASON TEAM W% #PIT TBF #P/PA #P/IP 2007 Mil .444 1165 292 3.99 17.1 Now this was the first time Turnbow even threw over 1100 pitches in his career. Yeah I think that will kill your arm over a season. Also when you look at Turnbow's stats from last year you will find something rather interesting. He does worse against #6 and #7 hitters than he does against #3 to #5 hitters. Also when you look at his other stats you will see that Turnbow is best when given 1 or 2 days off. When he pitches back to back games last year he had these stats. Rest (as reliever) ERA W L SV SVO G GS CG IP H R ER HR BB SO AVG 0 8.72 2 4 0 1 27 0 0 21.2 22 21 21 4 16 26 .253 1 1.05 0 0 1 2 26 0 0 25.2 8 3 3 0 11 33 .099 2 0.00 0 0 0 0 7 0 0 6.2 2 0 0 0 5 8 .095 Check out the big difference when he is given one day off. Turnbow can be good or bad depending on his control of his breaking ball pitches. When he doesn't have control of his breaking ball Yost should be yanking him. The problem is Ned is not doing that. Other than that Turnbow is an average reliever which is perfectly fine. You can't have all above average or perfect relievers in your bullpen its nearly impossible. Just look at the Yankees they have Hawkins and Farnsworth in their bullpen. Both of them are worse than Turnbow.
  7. Looked like it was a missed hit and run or it was a double steal. But since Rivera was swinging at the pitch I'm going with a hit and run.
  8. The first one where he was caught wasn't a steal it was a hit and run that didn't work.
  9. I only watch or listen to Mike and Mike in the morning. I used to watch NFL Edge when it was on that was an actual sports show and they showed what went on in the game and why it was successful and what the next team they are going to play would have to stop. That was one of the best NFL shows more so than NFL Live which is just a Cowboys, Colts, Patriots show or whoever is making the most noise that week. Baseball tonight has gone down ever since they switched it from an hour long show to a 30 min and then to 15 min. Plus adding Kruk and the other losers that they replaced with some of the people on the Baseball Tonight crew. The Best Dam Sports Show also killed things. Yes it was funny and the people on the show had their opinions but after awhile it just became a what can we do next to bring in the most viewers sort of thing. The majority of the shows that ESPN and Fox have are so watered down with opinions that they really don't make sense to anyone who is a true sports fan. I just hope ESPN doesn't touch the Mike and Mike in the morning since it is one of the better radio shows on ESPN that I get to listen to.
  10. Where is David Price on that list? How can you have Igawa on that list but not have Price from the Rays on the list? A six foot six power left hander not on the list?
  11. I got my 20 pack and the preferred parking tickets also on Saturday. I'm betting the 9-packs were shipped out later than the 20-packs and season ticket packages.
  12. I believe you had to goto the dinner that they had to get the autographed baseball. I believe that is what it said for the season ticket packages.
  13. When Weeks hurt his wrist again last year I believe the Brewers brought him back way to early. Which hurt him and he should have had at least a 2-4 weeks in the minors before they brought him back anyways.
  14. When the Cubs are introduced at the games when they play at Miller Park? (unambiguified thread title --1992)
  15. The team that has a winning record over the Reds will win the division this year. I see the Reds and to a lesser extent the Astros being the teams that the Brewers and Cubs could stumble on and make the race really close. The Reds and Astros are teams to look out for. Even though I don't believe in the Astros really with their pitching rotation the way it is right now. The Reds scare me more than the Cubs do. The Reds have a mixture of young and veteran guys who can get the job done not to mention they have a nice one two punch with Harang and Arroyo.
  16. Pence sure does run into a lot of things. First it was the wall and now a sliding glass door. Whats next? If you don't know what I'm referencing to the wall part it is when Weeks hit a 2 run shot to tie the game in Houston and Pence ran into the wall at full speed.
  17. I like the rocket he hit to tie the game against the Astros.
  18. I only watch or listen to Mike and Mike in the morning now everything else on ESPN is garbage.
  19. Obviously a joke. If you can't see it then I don't know what to say.
  20. I miss the bleacher seats at County Stadium. I really don't like the ones at Miller Park they just don't feel right to me. Everything else about Miller Park I love but I do wish Bernie Brewer would slide down into a beer mug again. Does anyone accidentally call Miller Park County Stadium every once in awhile? I know I do almost 10 to 20 times a year. I guess I just haven't let go of County Stadium yet. It is where I grew up watching Brewer games at. On the bright side though if I want to go down memory lane all I have to do is pop in the Major League movie.
  21. Plus he isn't a cancer in the clubhouse.
  22. I'm going to have to say it was Jason Kendall. Not much is going to be expected of him and I'm guessing not that many people are going to agree with me. But here is the reason why Kendall will be the most valuable pickup this year he will improve the back end of the lineup. The first five in the lineup is pretty much set in stone. What Kendall brings to the Brewers is a player who can hit 8th and take the counts deep. That is what the Brewers were really missing in 07 also they had a catcher who would swing away at the first strike and make a very unproductive out the majority of the time. To me swinging and getting out on the first pitch is worse than whiffing on three straight pitches. At least with the whiffing on three straight pitches you are increasing the pitchers pitch count. This is where Kendall is extremely valuable to the Brewers. In the late innings when you have a reliever in and they are laboring and need to get out of the inning Kendall will stick around and work the count. This right here is more valuable than any signing the Brewers did this off season. Kendall filled the gaping whole in our offense that we were missing.
  23. I think DM's theory in getting Cameron is that he will work the count more, and give the Brewers more quality ABs than guys like Mench or Jenkins. This is why the Kendall signing is even bigger than what it looks like. Kendall adds more offense because he takes more pitches than what Estrada did. It makes a lot of sense what DM has done this off season he solidified the back end of the lineup with guys who will work the count. Hopefully this will give us the success that we are all looking for.
