  1. I would agree with you if we were doing a rebuild a few years ago when there was no limit on how much you could spend in the draft and international free agency. However, with the rule changes teams have to be more creative in how they acquire young controllable talent and that includes signing short team FA's and moving them at the deadline.
  2. The team needs to have a true defensive CF if they want to see guys like Garza and Peralta regain any of their value.
  3. DJ Peterson and Gareth Morgan are two of the only prospects that intrigue me in the Mariners system.
  4. It's an extremely small sample size but Cecchini has hit RHP pretty well in his MLB career. .276/.382/.483/.865 I'd actually be willing to trade someone like Troy Stokes for a shot at getting him for 6 years. I imagine the Red Sox would be looking for prospects young enough that they wouldn't have to put them on the 40 man roster.
  5. The WWE Network has really gotten a boost with the new territories added to the vault. I can't get enough of Mid South Wrestling.
  6. I can't imagine Davis bringing back another prospect with the type of upside that Bundy has. Then again I have never really thought much of Davis to begin with.
  7. I agree with you. Trading Lucroy should bring back a similar return to what the Royals got for Zack Greinke.
  8. Yes please
  9. I wouldn't trade Lucroy unless they got two of the players from Pool 1 in return. Especially if you're going to avoid Gallo and Mazaro then you should have that option. It would be nice to have a 3rd pick be from pool #2 and I'd be willing to include a reliever like Smith to make that happen.
  10. So you can flip him at the deadline for some nice prospects? That's really the only reason why you sign any free agent in a rebuilding phase.
  11. Boston could be a potential match for Adam Lind. They're supposedly trying to dump Hanley Ramirez on another team and are kicking the tires on Chris Davis. However, they also want to add a front line starting pitcher which is where Adam Lind would come into play. Lind would only cost them a few prospects and his salary wouldn't prevent them from going after the pitcher that they want.
  12. Reymin Guduan makes me drool. Some team is going to take a chance on a lefty who can hit 100.
  13. The Rays are really the perfect match on paper. They have the need and the prospects to get a deal done. It's just a matter of how competitive they think they can be?
  14. 1B Max Kepler RHP Jose Barrios or LHP Tyler Jay 2B Jorge Polanco RHP Nick Burdi for C Jon Lucroy LHP Will Smith RHP KRod Cash I'd give them anything they wanted to get Barrios in the deal.
  15. 1. Orlando Arcia 2. Brett Phillips 3. Trent Clark 4. Jorge Lopez 5. Josh Hader 6. Gilbert Lara 7. Kodi Medeiros 8. Monte Harrison 9. Devin Williams 10. Zach Davies 11. Tyrone Taylor 12. Clint Coulter 13. Adrian Houser 14. Michael Reed 15. Cody Ponce 16. Demi Orimoloye 17. Tyler Wagner 18. Marcos Diplan 19. Jake Gatewood 20. Wei-Chung Wang 21. Miguel Diaz 22. Nate Kirby 23. Taylor Williams 24. Victor Roache 25. Joantgel Segovia
  16. Where is Hader listed as the #84 prospect in baseball? I checked Fangraphs Top 200, and he wasn't there. Baseball America didn't have him either. Both those were pre 2015, so maybe I'm missing an updated list. MLB Pipeline, which is updated, doesn't have him in the Top 100. In fact, he's listed as Milwaukee's 14th best prospect - so he'd be way off that list. I believe he's a top 100 prospects according to Sickels. He was actually ranked 67th on the midseason update. http://www.minorleagueball.com/2015/3/16/8215045/top-175-mlb-prospects-for-2015-john-sickels http://www.minorleagueball.com/2015/7/12/8940113/top-75-mlb-prospects-mid-season-update
  17. I would lean towards A.J. Pierzynski with the intention of trading Lucroy and hopefully Pierzynski again at the trade deadline.
  18. Does anyone have an up to date scouting report on Jorge Lopez? What is he usually sitting and topping out at? I know he was praised for his CB coming out of HS so the 50 grade from MLB.com seems low. Has his change up taken a step forward this season? Is his stuff good enough that he could be a #2 or is a #3 more of his realistic projection?
  19. I would try to shop Khris Davis for a 3rd basemen this offseason. I don't know if the club will have any takers but he seems like the perfect piece to dangle with Domingo Santana ready to play.
  20. Trading Lucroy is going to be such a franchise changing trade that I'm not so sure I would target a catcher as the headliner. After checking out MLB's top catching prospects I've concluded that only 3 of them could possibly be moved for Lucroy and unfortunately the Rays who never make these type of moves are one of those teams. That leaves the Cubs with Contreras and the A's with Nottingham as the teams that might match up for a trade. There's also Boston who could part with Swihart but his MLB clock has already begun. Rays LHP Blake Snell / RHP Brent Honeywell C Justin O'Connor / C Chris Betts 1B Casey Gillaspie / 3B Richie Shaffer Low level A arm to dream on or a AA pitcher with good stuff ala Hellweg, Pena, Houser A's 1B Matt Olson / 3B Matt Chapman C Jacob Nottingham LHP Sean Manaea Low level A arm like Dakota Chalmers / Casey Meisner or some AA guy with good stuff The Cubs have the extra catcher as well as the 1st basemen to deal in Dan Vogelbach but they don't have the pitching to get the job done unless you believe Carl Edwards has what it takes to stick in the rotation. He has the stuff to be a front line starter but that walk rate is atrocious. Because of how limited our trading partners are, I think targeting for top end pitching is the way to go when we move Lucroy. Maybe trading Lind will bring back a nice low level catcher to dream on? It seems like going with a band aid these next couple years is the way to go at that position.
  21. I highly doubt the Mets are going to move one of their top 4 starting pitchers which is why Wheeler makes sense. You just push for one of the top 4 starters so it forces the Mets to make the package around Wheeler better.
  22. I'm hoping for something similar to this^^^ Fulmer, Nimmo and Cecchini were all mentioned as prospects they were willing to trade.
  23. Parra will be traded. If you think otherwise you're either naive or blind with hatred.
  24. He also mentioned Rafael Montero as a part of the package then brought up how teams have been asking about Zack Wheeler. I'd only take Lagares as a throw in but the other 3 parts are fine. Milwaukee would need another solid piece like Wheeler or Fulmer to make me do the deal.
