  1. Wow, there's no such thing as mistakes in Ned's "book", especially those committed by him. Ned sure is good at talking out of anything and admitting nothing at the same time, he should've been a politician instead, he has a "talent" for it unlike his current job.
  2. Watched the US vs Italy women's volleyball Q-finals, it was an exciting game. The Americans were down 2 sets to 1, and came out blazing the next 2 sets to an impressive come-from-behind victory. The Italian coach had to burn his timeouts in quick succession trying to halt the US momentum, but the Americans were unstoppable aided by their great serving and blocking. US will play Cuba in the semis, should be an exciting game too.
  3. Come on Brewers, let's tie the game please.
  4. 130 pitches in a blowout, Ned is insane.
  5. Go to the bullpen please, Ned. No point having CC pitch the 9th.
  6. Michael Phelps is absolutely amazing. 8 Golds in one Olympics and I've lost count on how many world records he has broken along the way. The Chinese call him the American Superfish, I guess that's a compliment.
  7. Tiny Singapore won a silver in women's team ping pong. It's the tiny country's second ever olympic medal, their first medal was 48 years ago. Being in Singapore, think I'd like ping pong to be in the olympics too http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. Wow, 114 pitches with a 7-1 lead... why is CC still in the game? Go to the bullpen already!
  9. The ultimate goal is to win the World Series, I recall Mark Attanasio mentioning that a few times to the media and totally agree. Don't want to be like the Cubs, getting swept in the first series of postseason. I hope the Brewers are much more competitive than them in the playoffs and not contented with just getting there.
  10. Really happy to see Yo with the team and throwing off the mound soon. , Hopefully Yo is able to pitch in some capacity in October if the Brewers do make the playoffs. It would be really nice for him to experience mlb postseason too.
  11. My favorite places so far (in no particular order) Vienna, Austria - Simply spectacular. A great city to walk around as there's plenty to see. Really enjoyed visiting the museums, catherals and palaces. The monateries and the wine in the nearby towns are great too. Orlando - To me one of the best places in the world to bring a family for a holiday, the kids and I won't get bored there. Milwaukee - I enjoyed my 3.5 years stay there. I missed driving to the old county stadium to watch the Brewers play, haven't visited Miller Park yet though. New Zealand - Breathtaking scenery and natural beauty, it was an enjoyable holiday doing a driving trip there. Krabi, Thailand - a beach resort town. I like Thai food and Thai massage, the massage and meals there are very good. The boat tours to the surrounding islands are nice. They bring you to the are great locations to dive or snorkel, and to the islands with beautiful beaches, one of the islands is Phi Phi island where the movie "The Beach" was filmed. Beijing, China - Many historical places and very old buildings to visit in Beijing and the surrounding towns. The traditional chinese massages were excellent and the local food is quite different yet very good. Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia - Beautiful place and nice weather, it was an enjoyable 1.5 years stay there. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - KL is about 200 miles from Singapore, each year my wife and I like to go there for weekend gateways. It's a nice place for me to relax and have a good massage, my wife enjoys shopping there too.
  12. Yeah, Rivera is good offensively. But he also did a good job working with the pitchers, calling the game and framing the pitches, don't you think?
  13. I can't help but hope against hope that CC will stay with the Brewers after this season. I think he could be a great investment for the Brewers.
  14. Our backup catcher Mike Rivera is pretty good, hope he plays more so that Kendall is not overworked.
  15. Great Win. Excellent job by Rivera, Kapler and Parra. Go Brewers!
  16. Thought I give myself a beer username since I'm a Brewers fan. The local beer in Singapore is Tiger Beer, hence tigerbrew. It's been over 4 years now. http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll129/tigerbrew/TB3.jpg
  17. I guess when Bon Jovi sang the song Lay Your Hands on Me, he wasn't referring to the likes of Prince Fielder. I do admire Parra for showing so much self-restraint and coolness. He didn't retaliate or even mouth off at Prince despite being harassed, shoved and yelled at by that lunatic. Just sat there silently and calmly, rational and at peace, he really turned the other cheek.
  18. The reason Prince didn't get to hurt Parra was because he was restrainted immediately by other team-mates before he could do so. What Prince did to Parra was absolutely wrong, unwarranted and unacceptable. How is Parra a jerk? For getting his jacket and looking Prince in the eye when Prince was giving him a boatload of verbal abuse? I did not see Parra say a word at Prince or retaliate during the whole altercation, it was very one-sided and it was all coming from Prince. I find that Prince is the one that is being a jerk and Prince is the one that needs to be put in his place, he is not the manager of team.
  19. You can watch the whole thing here , I don't see the jacket hitting Prince at all. From what I saw, Prince was doing the talking and Parra wasn't happy with what he's hearing so he snatched up his jacket to leave. Prince took offence with the way Parra picked up his jacket and exploded violently at him. Prince is behaving like a bully and a raving lunatic, it was a personal attack that has nothing to do with his so called "passion, intensity and fire for the game".
  20. Physically attacking your team-mate = having passion, intensity and fire for the game of baseball? Prince has very strange logic. I suspect Prince is trying to make excuse of his violent action with the "passion, intensity and fire for the game" spin. I think Prince should've apologise to Parra right away for the shoving and for acting like a raving lunatic. Apologising for "the way it went down" is not an apology. You don't see Parra shoving Prince for the errors he had commited in games he pitch. How is physically abusing your team-mate = competiting hard? Apparently Yost shares the same strange logic as Prince and condones and excusing Prince's violent actions. Amazingly, Yost even rebukes fans for not condoning Prince's violent actions. I am a peaceful Brewers fan, I am not a violent European football hooligan. I want to see the Brewers beat opposing teams on the field of play, I don't want to see Brewers players physically beating each other up. Am I wrong to think that you can compete hard and win without being violent? Many champions have won without resorting to violence.
  21. Lawrie signs with the Brewers right after winning World Junior Triple Crown, Excellent! Man, he will be an exciting prospect to follow.
  22. I think the USA today news article about yesterday's dugout fight is pretty interesting. Link. Brewers' frustration boils over into dugout scuffle By Paul White, USA TODAY Milwaukee Brewers manager Ned Yost doesn't like the idea of the neighbors getting nosy, but it's tough to pull the drapes over the front of a dugout. First baseman Prince Fielder started swinging at teammate - and Monday's starting pitcher -Manny Parra at the beginning of the seventh inning of the Brewers' 6-3 loss at Cincinnati. Parra, who had a no-hitter going into the fifth inning, was being replaced by a pinch-hitter after falling behind 6-1. He and Fielder were walking side-by-side in the dugout when the first baseman shoved and began swinging at Parra. "It's within the family," Yost said after the game, refusing like everyone else in the Milwaukee clubhouse to discuss details of the incident. "It's a little bit rude, when your neighbors are fighting next door, for you to go over and ask what happened. … It's nobody's business." When four teammates have to tackle a 270-pound first baseman in the front of the dugout with TV cameras rolling … well, Ned, it's like the neighbors taking their issues to the front lawn. It attracts a crowd and more than a few questions. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported that Fielder apparently was upset that Parra was heading for the clubhouse rather than remaining on the bench. It's not a no-physical-harm scrap among teammates that is the issue right now for the Brewers. It's more that they've lost seven of their last nine games and are hanging onto the National League wild card spot by a half-game. They're also five games behind the NL Central leading Cubs, the team that won four games in a row at Milwaukee early in the Brewers' rough stretch. Losing to the Cubs was one thing - Milwaukee still has six September games against Chicago - but now the Brewers are in a stretch of playing 19 of 22 games against teams with losing records. It's no time to fall apart. Fielder hardly seems like the one to be frustrated. He's on an 11-for-28 streak at the plate with five home runs during an eight-game hitting streak. But there are plenty of other candidates. Shortstop J.J. Hardy, who was the team's hottest hitter as the Brewers went 26-12 from late May to early July, doesn't have a hit in his last 26 at-bats. All-Star outfielder Corey Hart is in a 4-for-20 stretch and catcher Jason Kendall is struggling more at 4-for-41. Ryan Braun, even after a homer and a double Monday, has five hits in his last 24 at-bats. Yost says the dugout fracas is the kind of thing that can spur a team. Maybe, but he got into one around this time last season with Johnny Estrada, a catcher on the team at the time. That was Aug. 2, 2007, as Milwaukee lost for the seventh time in nine games. That tailspin would extend to 6-16.
  23. 1. Braun 2. Yo 3. CC 4. Hardy 5. Hart 6. CV 7. Parra 8. Kendall 9. Torres 10. Kapler
