    There is some heresy, saying that Kendall may have been anything other than the devil. His defense was definitely better than the Z man. I'd like to think that he wouldn't have called for a fastball to Votto with bases loaded and a full count, but who knows.

    You realize that that could be completely wrong. Its pretty far-fetched that Bush and Suppan have pitched like crap and that Prince is scuffling because Macha doesn't light some fire. Seriously.

    I wonder if Soup thinks he's going to pitch after he leaves here. Surely he must be riding out this contract, but then you'd think he and Mark A could work out some ending.

    Sigh... I wouldn't be surprised if they pound out a couple wins in Cincy. I'll guess 15 runs in 2 games. Then again Yo is starting and that usually means no offense.

    I think that SS was a minor league all star, mostly for his defense and Fielder hit that right at him.

    -Ken Macha is fired. While I don't necessarily need the over-the-top personality in a manager, I believe this team does. A young ballclub like this needs a little fire and ice in my opinion and Macha is not that. I've never really liked Macha and the fact that he doesn't like to go with his young guys. the first thing that needs to be done is to fire Macha- and soon. Macha had no business being brought back... If the goal is long term success of the team, they should bring Macha back, especially considering how many young guys are bound to be playing in the future. I'd guess he is more willing to go with a young guy than any other manager I am aware of. The popular suggestions I hear, Torre, Baker and Piniella seem to have less willingness to play younger players than Macha. Doesn't this whole thing stem from anger over playing McGehee? The "fire" thing is empty. Tim whatever his name is whines about that on the radio. He also screams about how they should have signed Lackey. I hear that one fairly often although sometimes people actually check on how the guy is doing. Witrado actually explained to him how it wasn't possible and was stupid and all he could say was "do something." I think its completely pathetic to tune into a postgame and have Squeaky Fifer suggest Torre who looks to be near death most of the time. Sveum answers everything in a monotone and he is the guy with the weird pitching decisions who also loves his veterans. Go read some old Mets blogs and forums - they HATED Randolph.

    What logic leads you to believe that Macha wants Suppan back in the rotation? Given the devotion to the guy before Macha got here and how quick he was pulled from the rotation, I'd guess that Macha is the reason he's not in the rotation.

    That's debatable. When? By whom? And fan is not short for fanatic. This isn't the 19th century.

    Ned Yost was awful. Reading all the stuff about Macha here reminds me of the JSonline forums. Younger players will likely get less time with the next manager. I suppose then everyone will say he's bad and want him gone. The bullpen has been used irresponsibly? I think he's been doing great.

    He played a fair amount of 2b too. I believe he's the emergency catcher. He got 148 plate appearances in '09. There seem to be people who think he should be locked in as a starter the way Yost would do it, but that doesn't mean he played sporadically, plus he would be blocked by Hall. No, fan is no longer an abbreviation for fanatic. That's its etymology, not its definition.
