  1. I'm pretty sure I'll be there. If sgtcluels is nice I'll let him come with.
  2. That restaurant is just outside of Phoenix, for all of you going down for Spring Training...
  3. Season ticket holder price is $10 per ticket, but they're still printed with the $14 face value.
  4. doesn't this thread go against everything the Trading Post stands for? Try Stubhub.
  5. i always expect a cover letter. But I work in education....we like writing.
  6. I got my rejection email to one address, but the other addressed i used doesn't have anything yet.
  7. I also agree that this board should only be used to "help others out." There are plenty of other outlets where you can sell your tickets over face value, where there are precautions in place to protect buyers and sellers. If someone backs out of a deal on brewerfan, you're out of luck. That won't happen on StubHub or eBay
  8. I've been a co-chair or communication lead on our professional search & screen committees at UWM for a few years now. When hiring season ramps up, I tend to shift my normal job responsibilities so I can devote at least 30-50% of my day to HR-related work. Screening resumes, communicating with applicants, scheduling interviews, publicizing the job....it takes A LOT of work, especially when you have to follow state procedures (as hawing knows). Right now we're hiring for 2 professional staff positions, and I anticipate that we'll get between 80-100 resumes for each one. Then the 6-person Search & Screen needs to read every single resume and complete an accompanying rubric. It's very time consuming. But, in the end, every single applicant gets at least one email from me, no later than 3 weeks after they have applied. I'm just lucky my job allows me to devote that much time to the process.
  9. Look out, from the way your wife is talking I may be making the drive again this summer. She told me that "Gamble" guy is supposed to be fun to watch. hehe.
  10. I always had luck getting autographs at visiting parks when players come out of the locker room through the "tunnel" onto the field. Especially if you can identify them before they have their back to you (and you have to read the name on their jersey).
  11. i'm a hawing fan, partly because of the woman factor, and partly because she's just so darn nice. BrianTheAutomator obviously gets points. I like pitchleague's Arizona reports. sgtcluels, for his computer nerdiness.
  12. i don't want to think about shoveling. I am avoiding being at my house, so the avoidance is working quite well.
  13. I remember they did the free preview after the all-star break last year. I assume if you ordered at that point it would be cheaper, but I didn't look into it.
  14. April 11 and May 9 are officially sold out (except for single seats) according to an email I received late this afternoon. Just think of the markup scalpers are going to get from cubs fans - it was probably totally worth it for them to buy a bunch of season ticket packages just to have this opportunity. I was just happy I could score a few tickets for my friends eventually - 2 on May 8, 4 to a September game, and a pair to a Cardinals game.
  15. I would happily take the job, even if it made me a token female. Sign me up.
  16. I got the "technical difficulties" message. I'm trying to get some Cubs game seats for my friends....wonder how many of these tickets will end up scalped to cubs fans?
  17. couldn't you also subscribe to an RSS feed of a forum you wanted to stay updated on?
  18. usually there are a handful of games on the radio....but if you get the mlb.com radio package you should have all the spring training games, I believe. I think last year FSN showed 2 games. Don't know if those would be announced yet...
  19. I guess I got so excited I started making things up. Still will be awesome.
  20. I was already planning on going to the game....but I didn't realize it was dollar beers and hot dogs! And the bobble is pretty cool. The 2-day long opening day fest is going to be great.
  21. RyDogg, you're just using a regular HD antennae, right? Were you seeing the pixel-type interruptions? I had that problem a lot when I was just using the antennae. Signals can be finicky.
  22. as Point Beer mentioned, I use turbotax.com. It's the same thing as using the boxed software but it's free, offers different levels depending on your needs, and stores your returns from year to year. love it.
  23. It would probably be to your best advantage to talk to your professor, TA, or classmates if you don't understand something. Just a suggestion http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  24. taco dip! with guacamole and salsa as alternatives. mmmm.... and peanut butter cookies.
