  1. They can look at ID if the voter voluntarily provides it (which is helpful in loud rooms for people with unique names), they just can't ask for ID. But they were probably just being safe.
  2. Wow...I had no idea. I'm guessing that it's less than 3 years old (I purchased XM about 3 years ago). If I remember correctly, Radio Milwaukee started about 12 - 18 months ago.
  3. The conversation view in gmail is great - if a bunch of people are replying to an email with the same subject line, all the messages are nested under one subject. Also, you only "archive" in gmail, never delete, and the search function is fantastic - i can easily find an email I sent three years ago. As others have said, the integrated IM is also great - I use that at work so I don't have other programs open. You can also use the search function to search through old chats. I read my email in both the web format and through Mail on my MacBook. Both work well.
  4. I just don't like the idea of a FM radio station without on-air personalities. I have satellite radio and internet radio for that.
  5. My newest report is that I just might be an idiot. If I look at what the boxes are actually numbered in the thread pages, odds are white and evens are gray. I was dumb, and considered the lead post (gray) to be #1 (therefore odd) and the first reply (which is actually #1) to be an number two (and therefore even). sorry if I sent you on a wild goose hunt casey.
  6. Just got my renewal package today, even though it was postmarked October 30 and I live in Milwaukee. Anyway....I don't think I'm renewing this year. I'll hold off for a week or so, but...I seemed to have so much more money this time last year.
  7. i've had gmail for over 4 years, and i love it. Not having to delete anything, ever, without maintaining folders is fantastic
  8. If you're already registered at your current address you need absolutely nothing to vote in the state of Wisconsin. Asking a registered voter to provide ID to vote is actually illegal.
  9. Art Bar is giving out free shots tonight every time a state is called for the democrats. Can you say alcohol poisoning?
  10. I'm seeing the colors correctly.....on the forum pages. On the thread pages, it's switched.
  11. I still haven't gotten my renewal. I'm getting antsy.
  12. OAR is a fairly popular "jam band" with the college crowd. Think Dave Matthews Band on a much smaller scale. I enjoy their shows. They always pack out Summerfest, sometimes 2 or 3 nights. They played UWM's Pantherfest last year and were pretty popular.
  13. http://www.speedtest.net/result/349251292.png through a wireless router...
  14. I volunteer as a poll worker for elections. Looking forward to Tuesday...
  15. I haven't been to Point in a few years....but from what I remember, you could play around on Main Street poking into the little shops. Belts, for sure, if it's still open for the season. Best/cheapest (for the combo) ice cream ever. The student union is brand new - you could check that out on campus. Current UWSP students - do they still have some incarnation of the Brewhaus? That was a fun place to chill. There's a dorky little museum inside the campus library. There are lots of disc golf courses, depending on the weather. Again, haven't been there in a few years. But that's how I used to spend my days.
  16. I've been going back and forth with one company for 2 weeks trying to get my roof fixed. I have a clay tile roof, and most roofers won't even touch it unless they're specifically trained to work with this material. I'm fed up with the first company, and I need to do something - the leak has caused an actual hole in my ceiling, resulting in water dripping into my bedroom. Not fun. I now have to repair the roof AND my ceiling. So, anyone know someone who works on clay tile roofs that will actually return my phone calls?
  17. *fingers crossed* Last year all the hats were $5. I purposely didn't buy any hats this year because I saw all the hats I bought last year at the sale. Might have to pick up some sausage christmas ornaments too http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. Blue is really helpful to people like me that aren't always on the ball http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. I had to write a conspiracy theory paper in high school, and I found a decent amount of evidence supporting the theory that AIDS was created by the US government. Now, being a senior in high school I probably wasn't as critical of my sources as I am now as a grad student, and I don't have the paper anymore. It was an interesting stuff to research though. Here's the link to a wikipedia article. This is really controversial, even offensive stuff - but it's someone's theory.
  20. Yeah Patrick, I spend lots of weekends out in Milwaukee, and I haven't heard of any of those places.
  21. KMart is heavily advertising layaway this holiday season, and there was a story about it on NPR today as well. The credit crunch doesn't just mean people can't get credit - credit card interest rates have been going up for awhile, while savings account interest rates are going down. I don't know the specifics of layaway, but I do know (thanks to NPR) it was very popular in the great depression. Just kidding, found the specifics online. Layaway (at Kmart) costs $5, and is detailed here
  22. Every year around this time I think about getting a snowblower, then decide not to spend the money on it. Spending an hour shoveling each time it snowed really wasn't fun last year. I hate getting up early, and my back didn't like shoveling much either. Still won't get a snowblower though, unles anyone wants to sell me one super cheap http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Here's hoping for almost no snow.
  23. I'm hoping you're right, Hawing, because I'm out of town during this sale, and was really looking forward to the clubhouse sale to get christmas gifts for my nephews.
  24. Any idea if this is in addition to the "garage sale" they have each fall, or if they will be replacing that event with this?
  25. If I remember correctly, our spring training schedule wasn't released until December or January next year. I wouldn't get too anxious yet.
