  1. To be fair, advance group sales to repeat group customers have been available for about 2 weeks, via mail only until February 5, I believe.
  2. No Webkins this year - Easter is before opening day. I'm sure you're all very sad.
  3. I would argue that you'd only need police around for about 2 hours a game. The problem at Blue Mound occurs after the game, not before it starts or during the first 7 innings. Even when the line is backed up for blocks and blocks, drivers seem to handle the traffic civilly on the way in.
  4. Hawing, I had no idea your S.O.'s head was as big as sgtcluels'. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. Lots of changes like this happened and were announced today: link
  6. If the beer is cheap, they will come.
  7. My season ticket rep told me about the Yount thing when I upgraded my package this year.
  8. I'm not surprised that Yount is there. He's also going to be doing an autograph/meat & greet session for season ticket holders on the anniversary posters we will receive for paying off our seats early. Sounds like he'll be quite involved with the team this year.
  9. Flosses like Fossass posted this in the Off Topic Forum, can anyone help here? heading down to spring training for the first time with my dad and brothers. can anybody help me out with some hotel recommendations? here's what we're looking for: - outdoor pool - affordable - $120 max, preferably less (need two double beds per room) - decent proximity to the city (stadiums), we won't mind a 30 minute commute or so - walkable to a bar would be a plus any help you have would be great. we've begun our own search, but first-hand accounts are best. thanks in advance.
  10. If you want to mark your calendar for next year, it's been the first weekend in December for the last 2 years.
  11. If you're still looking for flights, Midwest is running a sale to Phoenix. Flights from Milwaukee are as low as $208. link
  12. We already pay $24 a month to Netflix....the service you're proposing would come at a much higher price. If you're interested in documentaries or tv series, the live streaming is more than adequate. Everything else we get the discs for.
  13. We went during Art After Dark. It was ok....not sure I'd pay the admission fee to go see it. However, I'd go to the far northeast corner of the museum and go into the Infiniti room. That was cool. There's also more warhol stuff back in that direction.
  14. Did American Express specifically say the interest rate increase was because of the returned check? Credit card companies are doing a lot of shady stuff in this economy - raising interest rates, adding annual fees to cards, etc. I'd call one more time and say that since you met the payment deadline you don't believe your interest rate should be increased. If they don't give in, close your card (you can still pay it off while it's closed) and use another no-fee, lower interest card. I don't think you should ever have to pay for your credit if you're paying off your bills (interest aside, of course). On a related note, everyone watch your mailbox for "junk mail" from credit card companies. They may be adding fees to your card, hoping you don't notice. link
  15. My parents found all of our old sports cars in storage....after spending hours and hours sorting through baseball/basketball/football (don't know why my brother bothered with other sports), sgt and I have a nice stack of 1980's and 1990's baseball cards. There's a great looking Paul Molitor '83 Topps....but looks like one of us scribbled on it. At some point hopefully we'll have the time to go through them and see if there's anything of value. At the very least, we'll make a cool collage of all the old Brewers cards and maybe all the major league players with sgt's last name.
  16. The Brewers minor league complex is fenced off, and much of it is lined with green plastic. However, there are holes cut in the plastic that you can hold up and look through. Some areas are visible through just chain link fence. The minor league practice area is just across the parking lot from the major league park. I've seen picture of fans back by the fields, but I've never figured out how they got there. Has anyone else figured that out?
  17. Rapids (my hometown) can draw about 65,000 people from the Wisconsin Rapids/Nekoosa/Port Edwards/Vesper and surrounding rural areas, if I remember correctly. Add to that that Stevens Point and Plover are just a few miles down the road, and the baseball team at Stevens Point as a possible recruitment source, I think the team has a chance. For the town's sake, I sure hope it does. My dad used to watch the Wisconsin Rapids Twins on that field. I have an autographed ball from one of the teams back then, although the only name I can make out is "Mo Hill."
  18. I could see the Cubs or Yankees overpaying him though.
  19. Apparently the Rangers, Mets, and Yankees may also be interested. Anyone but the Cubs, please! Link
  20. technical term is a hashtag. Like, if you search #tcparty you'll see everyone who was talking about Top Chef last night.
  21. UWM is defying the governor's orders and holding classes (there's like, maybe an inch of snow on the East side). Off to work I go.
  22. senuti works well too, but if you transfer over 1,000 songs you have to pay a fee for the software.
  23. Tickets for Maryvale went on sale today. We called our order in so we could be sure to get seats that are mostly in the shade. Something interesting: Parking is $5 in advance, $6 in the lot. But you're charged $1 convenience fee when you buy parking in advance. Geez...
  24. I'd say Duchscherer, but I don't remember seeing him mentioned in any rumor reports. Any idea why not?
  25. Laryngitis is really bugging me today. No sense going to a party if you can't talk to anyone.
