Definitely. You don't want to get your .400 obp guy into the game too soon.

    god counsell is brutal
  3. datrain711
we need to put some decent at bats together right now. Come on Crew you could make the rest of my work day a lot better here if you can pull this one off
  4. datrain711
yeah he went something like 12 starts without a W. don't quote me on the exact number though
  5. datrain711

    Rivera baby!

brian also makes 32 errors every game he calls. Nothing personal against the guy, I just don't see him as a very good broadcaster.

no 1st inning offense today.. lets see if suppan gets it together today

lol anyone hear Jim Powell's comment on the national anthem? "Boy, Hannah Thomas, hope she's feeling better soon." awesome

you probably have someone waiting for you....
  14. datrain711
Yes!!!! That was a flashback to Friday night against us

Anyone else think the Cubs still win this game?
  16. datrain711
wow my heart finally stopped pounding. thank god for that 4th run and the Braves generous defense tonight. You knew Torres was due to get nicked up a bit as he had been untouchable for a while. I'm hoping the near miss will deflate the Braves a little more and we get the sweep tomorrow.

I just have this weird feeling that if Bush gets it done tonight, this could be the springboard we need for a real good road trip. As excited as I was last night, a victory tonight would really get my hopes up for a good road trip. I'm going to predict a 5-3 Brewers win. Bush dodges some bullets, while the Brewers hit some bullets out of Turner. Go crew

whoa...you might want to disappear for a while
  19. datrain711
    this is awesome.

how many walk-offs does that guy have? wow very depressing. Oh well, Crew will be one back of the wild card after tonight hopefully!
  21. datrain711
that is a nice dream!! I'll take us gaining a game in both the division and wild card over the weekend

Some big games today and over the weekend. Battle of Chicago at 1:20 Cardinals go into Fenway tonight. work is slow, so I'm going to put on 670 and listen to Steve Stone's call of a White Sox victory.

And also last year we were exactly tied with the Cubs in run differential at this point of the season. We are getting killed in that category as of now, NOT that it is an end-all statistic or anything, it just means that circumstances may be a little different. It really stings when you look at last year and see how easy we would have had it if we were a .500 road team.

I hate to sound all polly-Nedish, but even if the Crew falters on the road. It's still really early. Look at the standing from this time last year: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/standings?date=20070620 Edit: Activated link. Yeah I agree it is early. My point is more that if we want to really be a contender, we have to improve on the road. I think that this is the perfect time to take some momentum on the road with us and start winning some road series. Sooner or later, we'll have to break out of our road funk or this great feeling we have now will disappear.
  25. datrain711
I definitely love the momentum we have, but lets just hope we don't lay an egg this next series. To me we absolutely HAVE to have a good road trip next week. Hopefully we can hang tough with the Cubs and start chipping away at the lead.
