    wow this game is frustrating. Hopefully we can have some more 9th inning magic, but I just can't believe how inefficient we have been tonight.

    wow wellemeyer only hit 100 pitches once the past 10 starts. That bodes well for us, as getting into that Cardinal bullpen ASAP is especially nice this year. 6-2 Brewers

    now for today's special, we will be serving a cubs' bullpen blowup. This way they can pull the trifecta of losing in different ways.

    Unless they think something is already wrong, I can't imagine them giving Marquis some of Harden's starts. Marquis has been an absolute disaster in the 2nd half of seasons throughout his career. They acquired Harden to get another ace. Giving some of Harden's innings to Marquis would be insane, unless there is something there that we haven't heard of yet.

    i have to say, Harden was absolutely nasty last night. The D-Backs looked like a high school team chasing after his pitches.

    Just wanted to say that i think you are a good addition to this board. Sometimes people on here need a dose on reality when they make bold statements such as the Ramirez one above. I guess it is part of getting caught up in the excitement. Do you think the Cubs will make a move to get a LH bat with some power for the bench? Seems to me that Ward is just about useless at this point.

    i like that CV wasn't used last night so he can step in easily if Suppan can't get comfortable. Hopefully Suppan's rest did him well, as he needs to get up to the level of our other starting pitchers lately.

    the cubs have hit about 6 balls that i thought would be homers. hopefully the dbacks can take advantage and put an insurance run up there

    would have been nice if the Cubs actually had to face Webb and Haren, but instead they miss both again.

    that's what i'm wondering. I hope suppan pitches as well down the stretch as he did last year, but at the same time, we can't afford all these 4-5 inning starts. hopefully the time off gets him refocused and he'll get off to a hot start in the 2nd half. if not, then people will definitely be calling for him to be pulled from the rotation.

    how many starts does suppan get if he keeps pitching terribly? Its funny that all season long we have been waiting for Dave Bush to contribute, and as soon as he does, we are going to cut his starts in half. I just have a bad feeling about all of this. Why are we messing up the routines of 2 pitchers at this point in the season.
