  1. Is the location actually a movie theater? (as opposed to maybe being a movie on an airplane)
  2. Is the name of the movie important? Is the genre of the movie important? Is the occupation of the husband important? (ie policeman in uniform) Are either of them in some uniform/costume?
  3. I'm really surprised that only 1 of you mentioned last season's final game Braun HR. Your original question asked for favorite calls period. To that I would have to respond Russ Hodges call of Bobby Thompson's "Shot heard round the World," and Jack Buck's call of the 1988 1st game HR by Kirk Gibson. "I can't believe what I just saw." For me personally it's Jack Brickhouse's call of Ernie Banks 500th HR. My favorite Brewers moment would be Pat Hughes call of Aramis Ramirez walk off HR against Cordero on June 29, 2007. But that's just me.
  4. Just remember that the world can never end today because it's already tomorrow in New Zealand.
  5. I haven't seen Entourage so that character means nothing to me. I like the way this season is setting up with intertwined storylines. By all rights the mole should be Garafolo, the bleeding heart liberal that she is. Great quotes from last night: Emerson: "No, you are." Chloe: "This is really starting to **** me off." (oops can't say that on this site.) Jack: "This is gonna hurt."
  6. Simple? How about something like this? You can make your own if you have any iron-on transfers. (Don't forget to reverse the image.) http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/4a426cf198438d1fd24242960f4fc44ddafdafc9.peg
  7. Jeez in our area when my kids were in HS it was considered a sign of honor to get your house TP'd but they never went to the store and bought the good stuff. They would take the industrial type rolls out of the high school bathrooms.
  8. First let me say that I agree with the signature in the previous post about Ronnie Woo-woo. He is a despicable individual. I just find it very interesting that so many of you seem to be happier about the Cubs losing than you are unhappy that the Brewers lost. I guess since you hadn't been to the playoffs in 26 years, then winning a playoff game was kind of exciting, but losing 3-1 is better than losing 3-0??? Gimme a break! Fact of the matter is that both teams did a terrible job of representing the NL Central, a division that had 4 teams in the playoff hunt late in the season.
  9. I'll give you two possibilities. Walter Payton's Roundhouse on Route 25 in Aurora. The Foundry is a very large sport's bar (includes an OTB parlor) on the Naperville/Aurora border behind Fox Valley Mall near routes 34 and 59.
  10. You can be positive about it. We who are old enough have a very deep seeded resentment over 1969.
  11. Congratulations Brewers fans. Especially to those of you that were not around in 1982, enjoy it, enjoy it, enjoy it. The Brewers and you fans earned it. And thank you for making my early season prediction come true. (That the Cubs and Brewers would both be in the playoffs.) Congrats again.
  12. Hey guys we helped a little. By splitting the 4 games, we show no favoritism. NO manager in our situation would have played any regulars on a rainy night like last night. But this is the way it should be. You guys have to do it yourselves. You're going to see Dempster (but probably no more than 6 innings), Lilly (ditto), and a yet to be named pitcher (probably Marshall maybe Marquis). You'll see a few guys out of the lineup each day (DeRosa is out for the series). This is exactly what the Mets saw. Give it your best shot and good luck.
  13. Don't be so sure. Games 3 & 4 are Saturday and Sunday. Why not run the Sunday starter out on Monday? He'd still get 5 days off.
  14. One of your brethren here has imortalized that play on an avatar. That play turned out to not be as devastating as it could have been as we did wind up in the Wild Card spot anyway, albeit losing 3 straight to Atlanta. As far as the Torres meltdown, it was really nothing more than a makeup for the Kerry Wood meltdown on May 1st. Sure it was 4 runs vs 2 runs but it was nevertheless a meltdown. (Yes I know you also lost Yo that day but I'm only talking about the 9th inning.)
  15. If anything up to 89 happens, then you also have to consider the Astros as contenders. Totals all include Monday make-up against Cubs. They have 3 with a hot Reds club and 3 with the Braves. 86 4-3 87 5-2 88 6-1 89 7-0
  16. I must say that I really enjoyed reading last night's game thread. And I also believe that I stated on this site early this season that both of our teams would get to the playoffs therefore I agree with RedFlash Go Brewers!
  17. Strictly my opinion: Lou goes with the rotation as it is now set for the remainder of the season. And Jeffyscott is right - Our #1 rival is St Louis followed by that other team that plays baseball in Chicago. Quite frankly, since we've been in the same division most of our battles have been over 5th and 6th place (before last year). That's hardly the stuff that rivalries are made of.
  18. Not necessarily. While it is true that scenario would eliminate the Brewers from the NL Central, the Astros would still be alive with an elimination number of 1 unless they lose either Tuesday or Wednesday in Florida.
  19. Just ask any Bears fan. Coin flip for the #1 draft pick following joint 1-13 campaigns in 1969. Ed McCaskey (late husband of current owner Virginia) called Heads - the flip came up Tails and the Steelers took Tery Bradshaw. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif As they say ... the rest is history. BTW the Bears always call tails on coin flips now.
  20. Yesterday, the talk was to play a day game on Friday and then a day-night on Sunday. Latest word is that the Cubs will head back to Chicago after tonight's game in St. Louis and wait it out. Stay tuned.
  21. I don't see the problem here either. But then maybe it's because I work at the corporate office for McDonald's in Oak Brook.
  22. Good list in the NL. Personally I would discount Gerut because in my mind you have to have been good at 1 time in order to "come back". I don't think he ever was. However, the 3 years off is a good story as it is with Tatis also. Now, I'm going to shock you guys by also discounting Wood. One main reason - Three guys from 1 team all in the running for the same thing (and I say 3 because Ryan Dempster could also be included in the NL group) tend to cancel each other out. Who votes for this anyway? writers or players? Might have to give a slight edge to Tatis.
  23. Not a problem. You just have to find other times of the day and different rooms to have those interactions!
  24. Why is it that this only becomes an issue when the numbers go against you? I'm sure that some team in the division is visiting Milwaukee more than you visit them. And next year when the split goes in the other direction, you won't be complaining.
  25. Hey Series, have you been to the Stinking Rose? I was in SF 2 years ago and I loved that place. (especially the garlic ice cream.) BTW, let me add the Courthouse Pub in Manitowoc - very nice and the owner loves our golf group when we show up once a year.
