  1. BTW you can find 2 of those vehicles permanently parked on Highway 66 in Seligman, Arizona.
  2. I was actually wondering the same thing. Also wondering how you (Valpocrusader) came up with a 6-4 record vs the Cubs. I attended Valparaiso myself and I know that they instruct better than that.
  3. So now the Pirates have both Adam and Andy? Guess I find out tomorrow when they come to Wrigley.
  4. Actually the White Sox have been doing that for some time. If you want a White Sox - Cubs ticket you had to buy a 4 game package (that was the original in 1997) This year you had to buy an "Ozzie Plan" - 13 games. Or you do like I did and go to Stub-Hub and pay $75 for a $25 ticket.
  5. You're quite normal. Over the top giddy when winning Too far down in the dumps when losing A few that are always humorous A few (well at least 1) that think they are humorous but are not An unrealistic belief that the Cubs will lose - because they are the Cubs and you are ultra-conservative (based on two conversations with Brian)
  6. I don't post at NSBB or BCB. Our windycitysports forum here at yuku has unfortunately suffered an identity crises over the years. Too much to go into but we are small and passionate. We actually had 1 guy that had blasted all Cubs fans that went to games for causing the team to not get any better. Called most of the attendees "tourists" then he disappeared for 4 months. Came back the day after we captured the division in 2003 (BTW thanx for beating the Astros that day) proclaiming how great the team wasand what a great fan he was. We banned him on the spot. That's passionate.
  7. You're not the only one. In fact I think that the curling matches led directly to the advent of the bags (AKA Cornhole) craze currently sweeping the country.
  8. OMG! A full 2 year gestation period? Is it an elephant?
  9. Kasper and Brenly were also talking about it on WGN last night. And I'd lay money that the Red Sox announcers were too. So which one of those announcing crews were actually the ones that broke up the no-hitter? Oh wait ... it was probably Marty Brenaman. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. Good one - Literally LMAO
  11. Hey I like that picture of Dempster.
  12. Let me help http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/56c1691249d4d92992789ea46dc92a657dfa00b2.jpg Fondybrew you forgot. It's beer, brats and cheese.
  13. Now there is the one thing that I and a lot of other true Cub fans will agree with you about.
  14. If you're talking about Rickie Weeks, that was a heck of a cross body block he was working around. Maybe he should have held the ball. If you're talking about the umpiring, personally I think the call on Cedeno was correct and I didn't get a close enough look at the Hart play. And even if they were both wrong - we all have to deal with bad calls on occasion. Besides, if you want to talk about a silver platter, refer back to May 1st.
  15. Hey you forgot something in the first post of the thread Carlos Zambrano, RHP (11-4, 2.96) http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/4f3265719c43bd1adac27899047588b910722df6.jpg
  16. Well, we got game 1. But that's all it is - game 1. Tonight should be an outstanding matchup. Last night marked exactly 2 months remaining in the season. Still a loooooonnnnnng way to go. GO CUBS!
  17. I'm not saying this is going to happen, but if you get swept by the Astros and we sweep the Marlins, who would be streaking and who would be in a funk. Don't you think you ought to play this weekend first?
  18. About 205, a little less than me. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Ahem, when we picked him up last year, I thought, huh? Why? Now I know why. When Soriano went on the DL last year and again twice this year, DeRosa has been absolutely invaluable. The guy can play anywhere except pitch and even that wouldn't surprise me. Is he a gold glover. Not even close at any position but, like last night, he is capable of gold glove type plays at any position. Last night not only did he make that catch but he was immediately on his feet getting the ball back in to prevent a possible second run from scoring. Nor is he ever gonna win a silver Slugger award, but as with any good ballplayer he will never let a bad day in the field affect hi batting or vice-versa. I can't think of a utility player I'd rather have.
  19. Personally I wouldn't do that, BUT if I did, I would start Marquis on Sunday anyway, and then Harden (on 7 days), Lilly, Zambrano, Dempster (each on 6 days) and I would really like those matchups.
  20. 2 points about not mentioning "the unmentionable." 1) How many times did you not talk about it and it actually happened? 2) Don't you think that there's somebody in the other dugout, the other booth, watching on the other team's feed that's saying, "Hey, this guy's throwing a no-hitter. Maybe we should try to do something about it."
  21. Since this was posted exactly 7 hours before our first meeting of the year, how do you figure they own us?
  22. 10 day retro is correct - He'll be available Tuesday.
  23. Sorry, but I happen to be a QA tester. Being nit-picky is my life. And BTW Captain? Literal. I was an enlisted man - don't lump me in with those pompous officers.
