    3rd tryout rescheduled, hopefully not cancelled, for this weekend.

    the third tryout is tomorrow... i guess i'm just hoping for the best... plus someone *COUGHdonCOUGH* prodded me into posting on the situation.

    CHAPEL HILL, NC In a wild turn of events, right-center fielder BuckyTuba was offered a stunning contract after an rigorous off-season training plan. Shadows of doubt were cast at the end of last season due to his physical conditioning. "I'm not sure if he would have been able to last a entire season at the weight he was at," one scout said, "however, his training has cut his shape into something more desirable, and if he wasn't given a contract by our organization... I'm sure he would have been given a deal. We had to make a move." It has been said that he had been getting two to three contract offers a week, but decided he wanted to play for a contender. BuckyTuba spent all last season as an Operator at Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant. He did a magnificent job in his first year there, and some said he was the next in line to move quickly up the chain to become a Manager at the big show, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. BuckyTuba chose to put off those chances to be a manager for a couple years so he could play a for a championship with a promising team. What makes this deal more interesting is the fact that the team will be without their starting centerfielder for the first two months due to a suspension. This will allow BuckyTuba to get a chance to play everyday for the first two months of his contract, and possibly find a way to carve out a starting role with a strong performance. (if anyone needs an explanation of the inside jokes or the true story, ask me.... it all makes sense, I promise)

    Chico's Bail Bonds get "slaughter ruled" 15-0 last night. BuckyTuba makes his cleanup debut, and responds with a solid 0-2, 2K performance. I ran into the outfield fence going back on a flyball which became a homer. Chico's Bail Bonds - 0-2 BuckyTuba - 2-5, 1R, 0RBI

    My point is I'd rather see ESPN show more highlights of all the games being played that day than spend 5 minutes talking about this. They're in the habit of showing 20 seconds of highlights from all the games that aren't the Cubs, Yankees, Red Sox, or Mets. If they dispersed the time spent on this crap on the other games, we'd have maybe 30-35 seconds... maybe show 2-3 plays instead of 1-2. These are all reasons why I prefer FSN's "The Final Score" to Sportscenter these days. P.S. - "Titletown"?? Come on, so lame.

    Chico's Bail Bonds falls 11-9 to Dakota Grill due to some questionable defense at 3rd base and Right Center (it was the first time I've played outfield in about 7 years). I went 2-3 with a run scored. I also lured the catcher to attempt a pick-off throw at first base, and he tossed it into right field, causing the runner on second base to score. Chico's: 0-1 BuckyTuba: .667, 1R, 0 RBI

    Since I can't play with you guys, I figured I would post about my season playing for Chico's Bail Bonds in the Modified Fast Pitch Softball League in Cary, NC. This is a team I joined through Craigslist, and I'm really not sure how we'll do. Tonight (4/9) is the season opener, and it's 75 and sunny!

    I was "lucky" enough to have my parents get divorced when I was 3 years old. I didn't have to go through all the crap that you'll have to deal with in the next few months, so I really can't give you any good advice at this point. Best of luck to you and your family through this tough time.

    I agree with dave, 3 date rule really does work. I'm extremely picky with who I date, and most girls don't make it past date 2.

    I saw Bob Schneider open for Ben Folds at Summerfest a while back, and he was Amazing. Everclear had a live disc.... "Live From Toronto" Fall Out Boy just put out a live disc, but it's awful... your live shows don't really turn out well when they have to pump your lead singer's voice through a computer to make it sound good in the studio.
