  1. For the first time in my professional life, I accidentally replied to all on an email. Fortunately, it was just a question directed to my boss on some boring financial tables, but I still feel like a massive tool.
  2. I wonder how much more 2021 college grads are going to earn over their lifetimes than 2020 college grads?
  3. It all depends on how the game unfolds … if it’s close, but the Nets lead wire to wire, then no, that’s what you’d expect from a 2-seed at home against a 3-seed. But if the Bucks lead for most of the second half and then crumble? That would be crushing.
  4. I’m pleased with last night’s outcome, but can’t help but think it will only pump us up with hope before a crushing Game 7 loss. At least our children will grow up with the ability to manage their own expectations.
  5. Phil Jackson often equated a good coach with the value of a team’s 4th best starter. They are going to help win a few games, but they don’t have the same impact as All-NBA guys.
  6. I checked the score before I went to bed and thought I’d be waking up to a different outcome. Very sad.
  7. I’ve never been a fan of Mark Murphy. When he took over in 2007, the Packers already had TT, MM, and Aaron Rodgers. The wheels were all ready in motion and Bob Harlan deserves as much credit for Super Bowl XLV as Mark Murphy (if not more). I was a long time TT/MM apologist, but it was obvious to fans that TT wasn’t well, but Murphy held on to him. Ted should have received the gold watch treatment at least two years earlier. I put their mid-decade slump on Murphy for not making a tough decision when one was warranted. Now do I think he has an excellent business acumen as a lawyer and former Big Ten AD? Of course. As a former NFL player, I think he also has the respect of the players and staff. That doesn’t mean he’s done everything right.
  8. Tonight is the night. If they can’t steal one on the road with the Nets down Harden and Irving, then I’m not sure they’re winning the last two.
  9. [sarcasm]It’s gotta be rough on these teams when they get down to just one ultra mega star.[/sarcasm]
  10. [sarcasm]I feel like this guy is running low on sick days.[/sarcasm]
  11. It's possible you don't like basketball, because this has been a great half of playoff basketball. Maybe I don’t … there are just so many fouls and subsequent complaining about the fouls. (And I think the Bucks just went down double digits after my last post).
  12. This is my first Bucks’ game of the year (no cable). I guess I haven’t missed much.
  13. What’s going on with KD’s hair? He knows he can just shave it, right?
  14. I’ve avoided weighing in on this topic daily - mostly because my feelings have changed several times and the whole thing bums me out. Lately, I’m of the opinion they should hold firm. If Rodgers doesn’t want to play for the Packers, then he can write them a $23 million dollar check for the portion of his signing bonus he didn’t earn and wait 3 years for his contract to expire. The cap savings from Rodgers’ ‘retirement’ is significant. Is it worth 3 first round picks? Probably not, but it unilaterally fixes their cap crunch and puts $23 million back in their coffers after what I assume was their worst season (financially) since Lambeau Field was renovated.
  15. So Budenholzer is done, right?
  16. If it’s coffee or beer, that’s an easy decision. Coffee. If it’s coffee or alcohol, I pray I never have to choose.
  17. I didn’t realize that vaccination status impacted the frequency of a golfer’s testing. Either way, I feel bad for Rahm. At least this is an established pro with 5 PGA tour wins and not someone just on the cusp of breaking through. 6 stroke lead going into the final round? Ouch.
  18. I just got $7 for a bag of aluminum cans. I think I got $3 for the last one a few months ago.
  19. The ‘93 Bulls were 57-25 (with Jordan). The ‘94 Bulls were 55-27 (without Jordan). Obviously, they missed MJ in the playoffs, but that was still a good team without Jordan.
  20. Pippen was an elite player. He was a First Team All-NBA selection during the two years Jordan was playing baseball and an EIGHT time All Defensive First Team selection from 1992-1999. Jordan was fortunate to have him as a teammate and even more fortunate that his contract was well below market. I’m willing to give LeBron a pass for his first Cleveland stint and ‘The Decision.’ He was still a young man and, in his defense, who was the second best players on the Cavs roster from 2003-2010? Mo Williams? But Miami was largely a good situation under Pat Reilly and he bailed as soon as they were capped out and Wade and Bosh were too old to help him chase Jordan. Do you think he goes back to Cleveland if the Cavs didn’t have 3 of the last 4 #1 overall picks? I mean that’s incredible. What are the odds? One of those picks was Irving and the other two were used to trade for Love. Do you think he goes to LA is the Lakers didn’t have the 3 consecutive #2 overall picks? They were able to use those assets to clear cap space and trade for Anthony Davis.
  21. LeBron is like the aliens in Independence Day. He exhausts all of a team’s resources and then moves on to the next asset rich team.
  22. Indeed. Lego knows what they’re doing. There is a full aisle and a half devoted to Lego products at Target now. The selection is great. Plus, unlike when I was 12, I have money now!
  23. Very little these days. I am, however, getting into Legos now that my son is reaching an appropriate age. The quality and variety of sets these days is pretty neat. My wife and I started getting jealous of the fun our son was having, so Santa now brings everyone a big Lego set for Christmas.
  24. Who would have thought a 36 year-old Chris Paul would be in a position to decline a $44 million option next year? He’s probably earned a 3yr/$100 million contract. Also, LeBron is done. Yay.
  25. It’s funny how a golfer can go from winning a major one week to missing the cut the next week. I’m sure Phil is not the first golfer to experience those highs and lows, but I can’t think of another sport with that kind of volatility … maybe a NASCAR race, I guess? And Kudos to Phil for honoring his commitment to play in the Colonial. He could have easily withdrawn and taken a victory lap.
