I find it odd there are national news articles written about high school athletes, but I still click on them. I guess I’m part of the problem. If a child of a famous athlete is outperforming or underperforming their parent, I want to know about it.

I’m just happy to finally be able to see the Bucks on TV. I don’t have cable, so the Saturday night game on ABC is my only chance to watch the NBA and it’s always some combination of Lakers, Clippers, Warriors, Sixers, Nets, and Celtics.

Kudos to all of you who have stuck by this team. You deserve this.

Whiskey + Ginger is a perfectly acceptable drink, it's very tasty. A bit of lime juice can also help take the edge off a poor whiskey. I highly recommend spending a bit more on a decent ginger ale. Or maybe trying a ginger beer and doing a Kentucky mule. Thank you. What’s a ‘decent ginger ale’? Something other than Canada Dry? Does whiskey + ginger beer = Kentucky mule?

Yeah, that’s a tired excuse. It must get clicks.

Thanks. Doesn’t school start in 6 weeks? The popular press runs a lot of stories about the Wade-Union Family, so I’m surprised there haven’t been any updates lately. If Bronny James wore a Kentucky t-shirt, we’d all know about it.

Has anyone heard an update on Zaire Wade’s recruiting? Last I heard, he was taking a post grad year to boost his stock, but had offers from Nebraska, DePaul, Rhode Island, and Toledo.

I enjoy Jack or Jim with cola, so that’s always an option. However, I thought the red label has a spicy/smokey taste to it, which is why I thought ginger ale might pair better than cola.

I just can’t get used to the Bucks wearing blue.

I’ve been gifted a bottle of Johnnie Walker Red. What’s a good mixer? Ginger Ale?

Former North Dakota and Philadelphia Flyers Head Coach, Dave Hakstol, was named the first Head Coach of the expansion Seattle Kraken. If the Kraken miraculously win the Stanley Cup, how many people in Seattle will claim to have been die hard Kraken fans for the last 30 years?

I’d be interested in hearing about experiences with resume writing services. I’m not actively looking, but am considering looking. I’ve been with the same company for 10 years, so my resume skills are rusty.

I think I missed something here. What did they say?

I think if Sam Hinkie had been allowed to finish what he started, he would have been jettisoned a while ago. The should have trusted the process. Hinkie was pushed out in favor of Bryan Colangelo. Colangelo promptly squandered the treasure trove of assets he was handed in order to trade up and take Markelle Fultz #1 overall. They could very easily have taken Jaysom Tatum (who went #3).

‘Futility’ was a poor word choice. ‘Disappointments’ is more accurate. Giant letdowns aside, I’ve had fun watching them go 26-6 these past 2 years.

Nice win for Jon Rahm today. I always root for guys who have been on tour for a while, but haven’t won a major championship. Now he can put that disappointment at the Memorial behind him forever.

I view Murphy differently because the wheels were already in motion for the 2010 championship when he took over in 2007. Technically, Bob Harlan hired two SB-winning GMs.
  18. nodakfan17
So if you didn't think what he said was unprofessional, how has he otherwise missed the bar of professionalism expected of a team president? Just trying to understand the reasoning for those that are viewing him so negatively right now.... He’s just an easy punching bag. TT and MM are no longer here (RIP, Ted) and Murphy has been the only constant in the organization during this decade of futility (besides Rodgers).
  19. nodakfan17
No, but it was unnecessary and a departure from the way he normally carries himself.

Peavey - I’m not a fan of of either right now and I’ve waffled back and forth on who deserves the bulk of the blame for this situation (Rodgers or Management); however, I’m certain the President of the Green Bay Packers should be held to a higher standard of professionalism than any player (including franchise QBs with TV aspirations). This isn’t most franchises where the owner’s relatives run the team because they lack suitable career prospects outside of the family bubble. This is a man who was hand-picked to lead the Green Bay Packers because of his unique combination of education and experiences (NFL player, lawyer, AD, etc.).

I’m a little perplexed at the apparent belief here that what Murphy did was annoying but that nothing Aaron has done is….. The bar for professionalism is higher for a Team President than it is for any player, including a franchise QB (especially considering the former has a law degree and has been a Big Ten AD).

Yeah I'm right there with you. I think the Bucks are a heavy favorite over Atlanta and less of one over Philly but still a favorite. Either West team is absolutely capable of beating the Bucks, but man oh man was tonight fun. I’m cautiously optimistic about their chances. Unlike recent years, the Warriors aren’t coming out of the West, nor do they have to contend with LeBron and his super friends. Kawhi Leonard scares me a little because of his past playoff success.

Yahoo carried the Rodgers’ country club membership story yesterday. I’m not getting too excited. Is it possible it just auto renewed? For someone earning $30 million per year, this might be equivalent to me forgetting to cancel Hulu after the teaser price expired and getting dinged a whopping $7.99 for an extra month. https://sports.yahoo.com/aaron-rodgers-renews-membership-green-172929728.html FWIW, this isn’t even the ‘nice’ country club in Green Bay. That would be Oneida.

It worked!!!!!!!!!!! Well played. I thought for sure this thread would been fired up after Durant sent the game to OT.

Today, I went out for drinks for the first time in nearly a year and a half. Paradise North Distillery is a neat place, BTW. Brand new distillery right on the Bay in GB. Try their bourbon. https://paradisenorthdistillery.com/
