  1. If I’m being objective and not wishful, it’s the Bucks. They’ve got the best player in the league with a core that’s locked up for a few years. I hope they get another one together, but damn, it’s hard. Enjoy this one. Nothing is guaranteed.
  2. I need to go to work in 5 hours. Good night, BF. This is probably the best night in 10 years on these boards. To the die hard Milwaukee sports fans: You deserve this. Enjoy.
  3. I wouldn’t have posted this leading up to Game 6 for fear of jinxing the team, but I was thinking “You better wrap this up tonight before Giannis tests positive for COVID.’
  4. Never did I think the Bucks were ‘one Jrue Holiday away’ from a title. Kudos to all those who believed. Enjoy this.
  5. Honest to God, my 4 year old son knows 3 pro athletes: Jordy Nelson (best football player ever, according to Dad) Giannis & Bobby
  6. I thought the same thing myself. Wow. He played the game of his life of the biggest stage,
  7. What’s with these 2x NBA Champs t-shirts? I know that’s technically correct, but it looks like this team is taking credit for the other one. Let them have their own day.
  8. These owners act like they drafted Giannis and traded for Middleton.
  9. Unsurprisingly, this is expected to be the most expensive ticket in Wisconsin pro sports history with an average price of $1,098. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/nba-finals-bucks-game-6-most-expensive-ticket-wisconsin-history-225436649.html
  10. Nicely played.
  11. [sarcasm]If they win, does Larry Sanders get a ring?[/sarcasm]
  12. If this was the night before a Packer playoff game, I’d be a nervous wreck and wouldn’t be able to enjoy myself until the game was in hand. But the Bucks in the Finals? This is house money. Not quite a Super Bowl in my mind (I know we all weight them differently), but I’m actually looking forward to watching a game instead of dreading the inevitable.
  13. It’s crazy to think the Bucks are one win away from having won the same number of championships in the last 50 years as the Packers.
  14. I’m still in disbelief. It’s crazy to think the Bucks are on the cusp of winning a championship with a bench that consists of Pat Connaughton, Bobby Portis, and a 33 year-old Jeff Teague (and not much else, with apologies to the rest). Last year’s bench had more of a championship look (George Hill, Wes Matthews, Marvin Williams, Robin Lopez, Kyle Korver …)
  15. [sarcasm]I’d go to see his movie, but I think I already know how it ends - he can’t beat the Monstars by himself, so Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh show up just in time to help save the Looney Toons.[/sarcasm]
  16. According to Twitter data, LeBron is the most hated current player in 24 states and receives 4x more ‘hate tweets’ than his next closest peer (Irving). I think the villain label is appropriate. Had he stayed in Cleveland after losing the 2018 Finals, my opinion of him may be different. You’re right, it was big of him to forgive Dan Gilbert and win one for his hometown team. He could have excused Miami as his ‘college experience’ and said he needed to leave and mature for 4 years to appreciate what he had back home. But then he bolted again! And Snapper, this is nothing personal (just sports banter). I usually dig your takes.
  17. LeBron is probably a Top 5 player of all-time and certainly in the Top 10. He made 8 consecutive NBA Finals and went 27-5 in playoff series during that span. I don’t think that level of success will ever be replicated. I’m willing to give him a mulligan on The Decision because he was a fairly young man at the time, but he’s since left his team an additional 2x after sapping up their resources in pursuit of a title. That’s his legacy outside of Cleveland, Miami, and LA. He’s a great player and a decent guy, but still a villain.
  18. Sounds like a trendy take, but in reality I am not sure that really is how it should be viewed. Even if Giannis wins it, it was one time and the only time he (so far) has made the finals. If the asset rich team makes it 9/10 years, but the Giannis type team does it one year...does it really disprove moving to asset rich teams wins championships? You’re right. If Giannis & Co. close this one out, I think it will be an exception and not the norm. That just makes this all the more special.
  19. He took the Cavs to the Finals five times. Once with Mo Williams and once with Isaiah Thomas as the 3rd option. I’ll give him credit for the first trip in 2007. Do you think he comes back to the Cavs in 2014 if they hadn’t held the #1 pick in 3 out of 4 drafts? That gave him Kyrie Irving plus the ability to trade for a 3rd star. He left an aging team that was capped out for an asset rich team that allowed him to compete for more titles. He’s an opportunist (and that’s being polite).
  20. Giannis is one game away from becoming the anti-LeBron. He can prove a true alpha doesn’t need to move to asset rich teams every 4 years to win titles. He just needs big stones.
  21. I’m ready to watch 30 minutes of golf uninterrupted until my family starts waking up at 6:30.
  22. I believe you're referring to Ken Rutgers, an offensive tackle who did exactly that. And that was for training camp I want to say it was a guard for the Seahawks, but Google is failing me right now.
  23. That’s pretty much where I’m at too. I’m hoping they can steal a game in Phoenix while Giannis heals. But this could be a quick series if they head home down 0-2 with Giannis <99%.
  24. I haven’t golfed since I was a teenager, but I’d like to give it another try soon. My wife has even expressed interest in taking lessons as a family. Our son is 4. The ‘golf guys’ at work swear 4 is not to early to learn how to golf, but I think my son lacks the coordination to be successful and would become discouraged before he learns to enjoy himself. What’s a reasonable age to start golf lessons?
