  1. I went to the grocery store yesterday and only 2/3 of shoppers were wearing masks. Until recently, I think it was probably 99% of shoppers.
  2. I just read that Target will stop selling sports cards and Pokémon cards due to concern for the safety of their employees and guests.
  3. I read an article on Frank Gore’s longevity. It’s incredible. In 16 NFL seasons, he’s rushed for exactly 16,000 yards. He’s played in 241 of 256 possible games, which works out to 15.1 games per year.
  4. [sarcasm]Or shaving.[/sarcasm]
  5. It was only a matter of time ... ‘Vehicle full of hoarded gas catches fire after crashing’ https://www.yahoo.com/news/driver-catches-fire-hoarded-gas-121247709.html
  6. [sarcasm]Using a plastic shopping bag to store gasoline? That’s nuts! When hoarding, you should always double bag your gasoline.[/sarcasm]
  7. I closely follow interest rates due to the nature of my job. One data point doesn’t scare me, but a pattern would. I’m still fairly optimistic we’re dealing with supply and demand imbalances that will get sorted out as the supply chain returns to normal.
  8. I’m surprised Packers @ Chiefs didn’t make SNF. I thought the league purposely set the new 17th game format to cajole another Rodgers/Mahomes matchup.
  9. The bye is week 13. Thanks. Demovsky had a weird info graphic that I read wrong.
  10. I think I’d rather have Tim Boyle. This is a good, low risk move in a vacuum, but now we have to listen to the media imply the Packers will be downgrading to Blake Bortles.
  11. That game will probably get flexed out. Where is the game? Home, I think. They say ‘against Minnesota.’ https://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2021/05/12/green-bay-packers-2021-schedule-updates-opener-new-orleans-saints/5043393001/
  12. The Green Bay Press Gazette reported the Packers will play the Vikings on SNF on January 2 ... another holiday weekend where I show up to work tired the next morning instead of well rested. That happen twice last year.
  13. I live in Green Bay and usually try to catch the Panthers when they make their annual trip North to play UWGB. I’ll be circling this game when the schedule comes out for sure!
  14. According to KBB, my used Camry is worth $3,000 more now than it was at this time last year. I figured it was a decent car. Who would have thought it’d turn out to be a good investment?
  15. There’s not a great place to put this, so I’ll stick it here. Pat Baldwin Jr. chose UW-Milwaukee over Georgetown and Duke and will now play for his father (and a Horizon League title). He’s a potential NBA lottery pick. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/college-basketball-recruiting-five-star-prospect-patrick-baldwin-jr-chooses-milwaukee-over-duke-georgetown/
  16. Tebow in Jacksonville feels like a bit of a sideshow, but who knows. I honestly didn’t think he could hit .273 in AA baseball, but he did. If he’s truly serious, I could see him sticking in the JAX as a TE for a few years.
  17. It looks like Apple will be on sale again today. I’m not a big individual stock guy, but I’m bullish on Big Tech and have done well buying the dips on Apple.
  18. I think he could have been Taysom Hill before Taysom Hill was a thing. In fact, once he signed with the Patriots, I was certain Belichick would figure out how to properly use Tebow and make the rest of the league look silly.
  19. Neat story: a Cleveland-based sports radio station cold called a Green Bay Area cheese shop to talk about the Aaron Rodgers situation and the resulting exposure has lead to an influx of cheese orders from Ohio. https://www.wbay.com/2021/05/10/scray-cheese-seems-big-boost-in-business-after-cleveland-radio-phone-call/
  20. This gets weirder as time goes on. I, like most people, wanted to give Favre the benefit of the doubt when this story originally came out (believing it was mostly due to poor talent management). Now I’m skeptical.
  21. Only in Wisconsin do you see people wearing shorts while covering their plants to ensure they don’t freeze overnight.
  22. I recently saw an article on Yahoo! called ‘How to Finance Your Wedding.’ It was sponsored by a bank. [sarcasm]Tip #1: Don’t finance your wedding![/sarcasm] I realize for a small number of savvy couples, this is a leverage play. If they can use the loan to invite more guests who then gift more money, it could turn out to be profitable (I’m not suggesting that’s the goal of a wedding). However, for the vast majority of couples, starting your married life in the hole to throw a party is a bad idea.
  23. Pfizer dose #2 kicked my butt yesterday - fatigue, chills, aches and pains, etc. Today, I’m back around 95%.
