  1. CBS Sports has an article posted today that suggested we might see more coaches jump from college to the NFL this year strictly for the financial guarantees. I guess pro teams are more likely to press on in the face of public health issues, whereas college teams have to pretend like it’s not all about money.
  2. It doesn’t help that Indy will be coming off a mini-bye.
  3. John Lovett is out for the year with a torn ACL. At least that opens a spot on the 53 for Allen Lazard to return.
  4. I learned on Twitter today that Aaron Rodgers has started 182 games for the Packers and won 119 of them. Guess how many games Brett Favre won through his first 182? Also 119.
  5. Are they playing Big Ten Hockey in a bubble? All 8 NCHC (lame name, I know) teams will be in Omaha until at least December 31.
  6. So the Packers are 6-2 at the halfway point (not bad) - where does everyone see them finishing? I’ll guess 11-5.
  7. The Saints are a game up on them and would own a tie-breaker by virtue of winning the season series 2-0. Winning their division got a lot harder after last night.
  8. A KC defender just swatted the ball out of a Panther player’s hand as he was trying to get it to the ref with no timeouts left and less than a minute on the clock. It was clear as day. No penalty. Same crap that happened to the Packers against the Vikings.
  9. I see Russ had two picks today. Rodgers might be pulling closer in the MVP picture.
  10. After watching the Bears and Titans today, I’m convinced Derrick Henry will run all over the Packers in a few weeks. I better start prepping mentally for that anguish to soften the blow later.
  11. Is Kyle Shanahan too old for flat brimmed hats? What is an acceptable age cutoff on backwards and flat brimmed hats? Hard stop at 30?
  12. Was it really that big of a win if Clemson didn’t have Trevor Lawrence? I feel bad for Clemson. They could probably win most ACC games without him, but last night’s game was the one Lawrence couldn’t afford to miss. I wonder if the Playoff committee takes that into consideration? Either way, I think everyone is prepared to accept some inequities this season. I hope the Playoff committee takes the stupidity of Notre Dame fans into consideration when breaking ties. That’s inexcusable.
  13. Just this morning, I read the US advertising industry spends $500 per year for every person in the US.
  14. Mods, feel free to edit if this is too controversial: North Dakota is the one state that could give Wisconsin a run for its money when it comes to drinking. We currently have the highest number of COVID cases per capita of any state in the US and instead of our bars and restaurants closing, they can “only” be open until 11:00 pm.
  15. The Packers have another positive COVID test (no word on who).
  16. Wow, Taylor and Shepherd got 26 and 23 offensive snaps last night, respectively. ESB had only 4.
  17. With last night’s win, Rodgers is now 10th all-time in career regular season wins with 119. He trails: 1. Tom Brady (225) 2T. Peyton Manning (186) 2T. Brett Favre (186) 4. Drew Brees (168) 5. Ben Roethlisberger (151) 6. John Elway (148) 7. Dan Marino (147) 8. Philip Rivers (128) 9. Fran Tarkenton (124) He’ll probably catch Fran Tarkenton and possibly Philip Rivers (depending on when Rivers retires). Russell Wilson will leap frog Rodgers on this list eventually. He’s already at 92 career wins and has started every game of his NFL career.
  18. [sarcasm]Revenge is sweet.[/sarcasm]
  19. 49ers home unis - Top 5 in the NFL for sure, right?
  20. This score could be 31-3 49ers and I wouldn’t be surprised.
  21. It’s interesting that Shepherd is returning punts and kicks with Ervin healthy. They must be trying to save some wear and tear on Ervin.
  22. It’s amazing what a giveaway can do for a team’s chances. The Packers could have really used one last week or in Tampa Bay.
  23. It’s obvious he gets an NFL roster spot because he’s big and fast, which occasionally comes in handy.
  24. I’m just catching up to live action on the DVR. A few observations: 1) The Packers have lost 4 consecutive coin tosses. That’s roughly equivalent to 2 extra turnovers when you consider there’s a 50% chance of losing a possession at halftime (which doomed them last week) 2) California requiring the announcers to wear face masks while in the both is just silly. I wear a mask every time I leave my house and hope others do too, but that’s taking it to the extreme.
  25. Definitely not a gimme.
