The Combined 'We're Trading Greinke' Thread (part 4)
Sixtofan replied to JosephC's topic in Transaction Rumors & Proposals
I know that it is not polite to comment on names but I think Rougned Odor is an awesome name and needs to be included in any deal with Texas -
Good for him. It is a shame that his run in Milwaukee seemed to end with some bad blood. I remember his agent with some odd comments and a dispute about paying for his rehab. I am glad to see him doing well and will always cheer for him (except when he pitches against us of course).

Of course they want Axford back in the closers role. Rodriguez likely won't be here much longer. I appreciate Doug being so honest.

The Combined 'We're Trading Greinke' Thread (part 3)
Sixtofan replied to adambr2's topic in Transaction Rumors & Proposals
A few thoughts: 1. I think most folks believe Cain is better than Greinke or at least it appears most GMs would rather have Cain. We certainly hear that some teams due not want Greinke to concerns about his ability to play in certain types of environments. 2. When the Cain contract was signed, it seems most thought he was overpaid. I know there was a lot of discussion in the SF area about how the Giants overpaid to keep him and have him be happy and productive this year. 3. If you believe 1 and 2 then the Cain contract is certainly something that should be viewed as a ceiling for Greinke -
I have enjoyed all of the Sorkin shows. Yep, they are preachy and that can be offputting but I do enjoy the overall "style" of the shows.

To be honest, it never occurred to me that he would be anything other than the backup to Lucroy. I assumed Kottaras would be included in some sort of deadline deal. Worst case you send Maldonado back down and bring him up Sept 1 but I have to believe our 2013 catching duo in Lucroy/Maldonado

Astros to AL in 2013: It's official
Sixtofan replied to pretendastronaut's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I have really enjoyed the NL style of play since the Brewers moved and truly believe the NL involves a lot more strategy as noted by topper. I have never before really heard anyone state there is not a significant strategic difference between NL and AL. -

2011 General Draft Discussion
Sixtofan replied to colbyjack's topic in MLB Draft & International Signings
No problems with the feed either. Streaming both the game and the draft -
For whom the Bell Tolls! Distinctive opening, nice build up - it can play for more than 15 seconds Second Choice - The good the bad and the ugly - unfortunately not much to the song and it gets tiresome quickly

"That hit and John Axford's 18th save of the season" Axford, of course, pitched two innings and earned the win Witrado stinks

I don't get it, when did it become ok for umpires to do stuff like that?

Perez won't go to the minors. I was watching the Mets broadcast the other day and they where soundly ripping Perez for refusing to go to the minors to try to straighten himself out. Supposedly there are some "clubhouse issues" with him also. Not a great fit for us

The backline had some trouble against Turkey also. This is a little scary. Although it was good to see the US come back and get the win

I was watching the Mets broadcast today and they were making a big deal out of Lucroy and his inability to get on the same page as Wolf. "That is one angry left hander out there". Was this discussed on the Milwaukee broadcast also? There were also several shots of Macha, Wolf, Peterson etc coaching Lucroy in the dugout.

It did strike me as really odd that the article focused so much on Weeks, and so little on the game itself. An AP game summary would have been better - which is sad.

Would like to see them

I am more of a card guy, I won several of the T200s. Some great deals in Mears this time

Just to go back to the original topic for a second. I had the good fortune of being at this game with my sons (10 and 5). Nice ballpark, friendly fans overall a good experience.

No Badgers on the team but Drew Stafford is from Wisconsin

Why hasn't he had a thought of the month since Feb 2009? All that Rush and no introspection just does not seem right.
