  1. I personally would've preferred Willie Harris, just because he provides more versatility in the field. He could at least play 2b, 3b, and the outfield corners. Kotsay really isn't much of an option in the field at all. Maybe at 1b, which won't matter, or possibly corner outfield, but I wouldn't trust him out there anymore. If he ends up getting playing time in CF that would be ridiculous. Gomez and Dickerson are both far superior to anyone on the roster in the outfield and in CF.
  2. It's because Melvin for some crazy reason thinks that Betancourt will be fine as our SS. Counsell can play there some, but not enough to make up for Betancourt being terrible. I agree that we should've gotten some help there as insurance, but it is what it is I guess.
  3. I have no problems giving him a shot in a Catalanotto role as you said. I wouldn't give him any type of major league contract though. I would just give him a NRI. We could definitely do worse for that 5th outfielder spot, so this wouldn't be bad at all.
  4. Holy crap, that makes this even more awesome!
  5. Wow, if the Angels get no money in this deal, they just got completely fleeced. Horrible deal for them that makes little sense. Doesn't seem like anything more than just trying to make a splash, because they struck out on all the big free agents this year. Terrific deal for the Jays though.
  6. Solid move on the Ramirez signing. Not as hot on the Damon signing though, mainly because he will be playing the field. Granted, it will be left field, but still he isn't a good outfielder anymore. Either way, the Rays needed to do something to try to compete in the AL East.
  7. http://www.mlbtraderumors...p;utm_source=twitterfeed Nice insurance I guess.
  8. Off the top of my head, that leaves the Cubs, and Rangers as the only real players left, unless the Yankees bomb again this year, and they spend the money to have him play DH.Yep exactly. Really narrows down the field. I just don't really see the Yankees going after him, especially with Posada moving to DH this year and A-Rod going there in the future. This is a nightmare, but I think the Cubs might get him.
  9. Thought I'd throw this in here. Apparently Fielder wants 8 years, $200 million this offseason. No surprise to me really. Puts most teams out of the running though, including the Brewers. http://sportsillustrated....arbitration.cases/1.html
  10. I hope this extension gets done soon, so I can order my Weeks jersey.
  11. Wow, that's a horrible deal. Typical Yankees.
  12. I'm not really worried about this. It's the Cubs, so they will flop in some way. Garza will likely underachieve and the Cubs fan base will hate him by mid-season. I see Greinke and Marcum both outperforming Garza, and likely the entire Cubs rotation this year. Like what was already mentioned, I'm glad to see them trading away their minor league depth when they have an old team. This will backfire on them a couple years down the road.
  13. Pretty sure they just say that because they have to. I'd think that the people who don't buy season tickets don't really have a chance of winning, or the season ticket holders have a better chance of winning. Otherwise, this promotion makes no sense at all.
  14. I wonder how this will affect a Weeks extension? Not saying he's as good as Uggla at this point, with only one good season under his belt, but I'd think this would at least give them something to work off of.
  15. Haha, Cubs urinal cake. Loving that. Whenever I see urinals mentioned I think about this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L5350r8Kl8. Good stuff.
  16. Thanks Chris! You gave me some good memories, and you had some good years here. Your dedication in coming back from the second Tommy John surgery was remarkable. Couldn't have been any happier to see you back this year. Too bad we have to part ways, but best of luck in the future. I think you still have some good years ahead of you. Just keep on trucking along. You will always be remembered here, and you're welcome back any time. You are a Brewer that we all love. GOOD LUCK!
  17. The Brewers are one of 11 teams interested in Fuentes. I'd be all for this signing, and if it happened then we would have a stacked bullpen. Imagine a bullpen of Axford, Saito, Hawkins, Fuentes, Braddock, Loe, and Parra. That would be awesome. http://www.mlbtraderumors...&utm_medium=facebook
  18. 44 with LA, 24 with Boston, & 40 with Atlanta. Not sure what number he'll choose, but I think it's a safe bet there'll be a 4 in it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif 44 is retired, Gamel is 24, so I guess 40 since Macha is gone.
  19. Reyes, Rollins, Bartlett, and Infante are all free agents after this season. Possibly Scutaro as well. Gonzalez, Furcal, and a few other veterans will also be out there. I think Melvin will just wait until the offseason and grab one of these guys.
  20. Ok, so I say right in the middle at 62-100. 100 losses seems like a good round number to me.
  21. I'm guessing the bullpen will now be Axford, Hawkins, Saito, Loe, Green, Braddock, and Parra. With Kintzler and McClendon as insurance in AAA. I like the depth a lot.
  22. I'm guessing Parra won't even be used in a starting role in the Spring. I think they really like him in the pen now.
  23. Sad to see him go, but we don't really need him anyway. Parra will do fine as our long man/6th starter.
  24. I'd love to see 3TO, simply because I'm a big fan, but I think Gamel should be given a chance.
  25. Can never say no to 3TO. So, I say yes!
