  1. And yes, the blame has to go to McGehee, Hardy and Fielder did their jobs.
  2. They couldn't get the guy at home. When Fielder had the ball he wasn't running, and if Fielder threw home he would've just went back to second, and the other guy would also have gotten to second. By the time Hardy got the throw from Fielder it was too late to throw home without the risk of them both being safe.
  3. McGehee already messed up in the field, how was that better than Gamel? I can't believe he missed that tag.
  4. I don't like this lineup. It just doesn't appeal to me. I just don't see the point of playing McGehee for one. Gamel can hit lefties just as good as he hits righties. But putting that aside, I don't see Hall being productive in the 2 spot because of his free-swinging mentality. Yes, he will see fastballs in front of Braun, but he has to actually hit them for that to matter. I would've left Hardy in the 2 spot.
  5. I don't understand why we aren't using this opportunity to give Gamel his shot at playing 3b everyday. We can replace him defensively late in games like we did with Braun if need be.
  6. I like this. And there are two Bernie's during games anyway. One in the stands, and one who goes down the slide, so no he wouldn't be walking around wet. I think it's a cool idea, and I wouldn't care if I got wet. They can adjust it, so it only does that during hot days.
  7. Irribarren won't get hardly any playing time, he's just here as an extra player on the bench. He'll likely get sent out when Catalanotta is ready to be called up. Gamel isn't going anywhere.
  8. I would have to agree with you on everyone but Hardy. However, I do see Weeks as being a big loss, mainly because he was playing so well. I know that we may be able to mostly make up for his loss, but it still hurts to lose a player of Weeks' caliber. We don't know what else will happen, and I hate to lose any of those players you listed. I was very sorry to see Rickie go out like this again. I think Hardy could almost be replaced in the same way though. He hasn't outproduced Rickie at all offensively. Counsell and Hall could fill in just like they are at 2b, or we could've given Escobar a shot. I really think that losing any of our starting pitchers would hurt pretty badly, and losing Hoffman again would be terrible. It's obvious that without Braun or Fielder we wouldn't be able to compete. We also have no outfield depth, especially in CF, so losing Cameron would be bad, especially defensively.
  9. It's another psychological thing. He's trying to delay our flight to Houston, so we are more tired for the game tomorrow.
  10. It sucks that McGehee will be playing the next two days over Gamel.
  11. Gamel has hit lefties better than righties in his minor league career, so I don't like the move because it took an ab away from him with a 4-run lead. I would've let him hit and then brought in Hall for defense.
  12. When we win this game, should we pull our pants down instead of just untucking our jerseys?
  13. Vs. RHP Counsell Hardy Braun Fielder Cameron Hart Gamel Kendall Pitcher Vs. LHP Hart Hardy Braun Fielder Cameron Hall Gamel Kendall Pitcher That's what it will look like.
  14. We'll have to deal with Counsell leading off against righties, and possibly Hart or Kendall against lefties.
  15. No way we would bring Roberts in. What would we do with him next year? Durham or the like would be a one year option.
  16. Best move if done from within the organization is to platoon Hall and Counsell at 2b, and give Gamel a shot a 3b everyday, because he can hit both righties and lefties. Hall can only hit lefties, and Counsell can only hit righties.
  17. This really sucks. I always believed in Rickie, and then he finally is having a break out season and it ends like this. Very disappointing. My advice to Macha would be a Counsell/Hall platoon at 2b, with Gamel playing everyday at 3b. McGehee can backup Gamel at 3b, and we can bring up Catalanotto or Gwynn as an extra lefty bat and outfielder.
  18. He hasn't signed anywhere. Melvin should just give him a call.
  19. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/45305842.html Melvin says he isn't optimistic about Weeks staying off the DL. Also, Gamel is starting tonight.
  20. Not good. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/45262197.html
