This is an Attanasio type move in my opinion, not a Melvin type move. I could see it happening. Doesn't seem far fetched to me. Trying to make a splash again. I would imagine Weeks would need to be dumped on someone willing to take on any of his contract if this happens.

I'm with both of you except that I think the bullpen looks like this. Henderson, Kintzler, Vet RP (K-Rod?), Wooten, Gorzelanny, Smith, and Hand or Figaro as long man.

I tossed my vote in for Reynolds. Banking on Mike Minor starting Opening Day for the Braves. I still think it ends up as a platoon with Francisco and Reynolds.

To put things into perspective, Mark Attanasio bought the entire Brewers franchise for $223 million back in 2005. Nice market difference there.

Trading a bat like Davidson for a closer is just plain stupid. Closers can be found pretty easily. And no, I don't care how young Reed is. It's not like he's Kimbrel or something. This is a great trade for the White Sox. They can roll with an in-house option like Nate Jones, or sign someone like Benoit to take over the closer's role. I really like what the Sox are doing this offseason. The Brewers should take note. I would love it if they shopped Henderson. Granted, he wouldn't bring back a return like this, but I'd take anything of value. -
The whole point of finding a new 1B is so there is an actual 1B playing 1B this year, and not a bunch of 2B, SS, 3B, etc. attempting to play there. There is absolutely no chance that Weeks will be tried at 1B. He'd be horrible there defensively just like everyone else that was trotted out there last year. There's a reason 5' 10" guys don't play 1B, not that that's even one of the main reasons he'd be bad there.

He missed an entire season with a severe knee injury, I don't know if I'd call him anything close to a sure thing. He appears to have more upside than LoMo though. I should've said sure thing production wise, and when healthy obviously. That should definitely be taken into account, but Morrison hasn't been the picture of perfect health either.

There's absolutely no way the Angels let him hit free agency, so that may affect the amount of money he gets. Will be interesting to see what kind of extension he'd agree to.

Not anymore. The Red Sox re-signed Napoli, which they obviously weren't expecting. He ended up taking more money to stay there. That makes the Brewers as the most serious suitors for both Hart and Morrison. It'll be interesting to see what happens. Morrison is more cost effective, and a possible longer-term option if he pans out. Hart is the more sure thing. You know what you're getting, but also he's only a 1-year solution.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Keep an eye on what happens with Logan Morrison. He's a more cost effective, and possible longer-term option if he plays well enough. He'd be worth a shot if the price is right via trade.

They signed Kelly Johnson. He'd be a good platoon mate with him at 2B. It's not out of the realm of possibility. They'd also be a good fit for Ramirez with A-Rod likely being suspended for the season. Trade them both players for prospects. The only problem would be finding a replacement for Ramirez since the goal is obviously still to compete.

Runs saved. Gomez: 38, McCutchen: 7. Gomez is better defensively in almost every way possible than McCutchen, but yet I have no faith that he'll win the Gold Glove over him. Voters are stupid.
