  1. Yeah, please no. They can beat the Rams, but if Jimmy Garopollo is a Super Bowl winning QB this season, I'll freak.
  2. Stunning win for Bengals. Burrow is the man.
  3. I wanted Cincy going into this, and I like Mahomes but I want the misery loves company effect of seeing Mahomes suffer a horrible loss.
  4. Man, I think it's time for you to stop making guarantees...lol
  5. And yeah, the Chiefs really are what the Packers should have been about 10 years ago. They sure know how to finish.
  6. Not watching but I thought this game would stink. Bengals had a nice run but I got the sense their path wasn't all that rough. Raiders and then the 1 seed that I felt was clearly worse than both the 2 and 3. I have a weird feeling SF is going to win though
  7. Substitute teacher be damned, the Raiders are making a huge mistake. In 99/100 scenarios that team would have imploded. He was very highly regarded around the league when they announced him as interim coach. Trying to way too cute and going with another big name retread. It will blow up in their face in predictable Raiders fashion.
  8. Yeah I don't know, I lean with those thinking the Packers are likely unimpressed with Love. I'm all about the guy getting his fair shot somewhere, but at the very least they don't seem to have the confidence they had in Rodgers all those years ago. I think they drafted Love thinking he'd start this coming season, and not thinking Rodgers was going to sniff an MVP again.
  9. Okey dokey. Fair enough. I will simply agree to disagree. Given the current state of the Bucks roster, I’m glad he’s on the Team. The two aren't mutually exclusive. I'm glad he's on the team, but he's the kind of player you can only like when he's on your team.
  10. He punches people in the crotch. And trips people when the official isn't looking. Nobody is coming out of the woodwork. This is the same take most people had here the day he was signed.
  11. I don't know. I think job #1 is as basic as "when there are 6 rushers over here on this FG we don't block them with 4 guys."
  12. Eh, I'm not so sure about that in regard to Stafford. It's assumed LAR will extend him beyond that and that's much easier to do once you already have him. I'd guess that happens this off-season. If anything I'd guess they get something very similar to what Detroit got. I don't think it's going to be significantly more if at all. I know most think Rodgers is playing until 42 or 43, and he very well could, but teams are going to weigh that risk and use it as a bargaining chip. True that he hasn't had any serious injuries and hasn't really shown decline, but at 39, that can show up overnight.
  13. Well, think about it like this. Jarrett Bush was on the Packers for 9 years. Almost nobody liked that guy playing CB. He was a lightning rod. Year after year he made the team, 100% because he made a living playing ST. Until a bunch of guys got hurt, Jeff Janis couldn't get on the field. But he kept making teams, again, because he was good at downing punts and forcing fair catches. The Packers haven't really retained players like that for quite some time. Their ST unit is pretty much entirely fielded by guys that are on the team for some other reason. Just because the roster is only so big, there's bound to be some players like that. But there ARE teams that hold a spot or two for players specifically because they're really good on ST. Nick Bellore is a god-awful LB. His game tape from SF was embarrassing, so bad in fact that he started playing FB after that. But he keeps making Pro Bowls on ST and has stretched his career 12 years because of it. You can get players like that for $1m a year or less, but I can't recall the Packers ever really trying.
  14. Season-end rankings are dumb because they rarely tell the whole story. The Packers championship team finished 10th in scoring because they were terrible for a large part of the year but by the end they were putting up 30s and 40s on everybody. Truly tragic how good the defense looked against SF with some bodies back, too. I don't know what on Earth happened to the offense that night but they could have had a slightly better worst game of the season and still won. And I think they'd have won the NFC, but, that's not where we are.
  15. I agree, this is why when a part of a football team becomes this terrible, this becomes more of a head coaching issue than just blaming things on one coordinator. They went all-in, had talent up and down the roster, star QB, and lose in the divisional round mainly because punt and field goal team, while all special teams units struggled all year. And it wasn't just bad like bottom third or bottom 5 in the league. This might be the worst overall unit top to bottom in a decade in the NFL. I honestly think a loss like this should be the end of the head coach's job. Especially with back to back years of horrible playoff choke jobs. I mean he's just not going to be fired so that's out. And the only choke thus far was really this season. '19 they were big time dogs, '20 was basically a 50/50 game that they lost on the last drive, and this year, yeah, they choked.
  16. No. There hasn't been good personnel for about 15 years because they don't care about the ST unit. They load the roaster with developmental OL and TEs. They also had some awful injuries over that time period which forces some ST players off ST.
  17. One of the big problems with trading Rodgers is that once GB is entertaining those calls, it's presumed that they basically have to trade him. The Lions didn't really have to trade Stafford. Maybe I am going to be way off. But My guess is something like a first, a second, and two thirds.
  18. I doubt anything like that happens. This would be it for Rodgers; I don't think he'd be keen on top WRs shoved off the roster of the team he's going to.
  19. I don't think Twitter or anyone else knows why he hasn't been fired or even if he will be fired. There were a couple egregious blocking alignments that arguably alone would get a ST coord fired. But to play Devil's Advocate: What if Mo Drayton spent the whole season campaigning for better/dedicated personnel? What if he warned early on that their roster had severe limitations in regard to ST. The easy answer is that it's his job to make them at least mediocre. That's fine, not really my point. But we don't actually know anything about the inner workings of the team. Isn't it also entirely possible he's already been told he's fired and it just hasn't been a public announcement? Don't you think if they're firing him they already have a candidate(s) in mind, perhaps one that is a lower profile and not likely to be poached elsewhere? One thing I'm fairly sure of, whoever they hire, most people will hate it, just like they hated Joe Barry.
  20. Yeah...I'll file this under "who cares". The only thing firing him immediately does, I dunno, I guess give fans on social a media a good excuse to vent spleen.
  21. Yeah I don't know what the point of saying that is. He's not as good at catching as Cooper Kupp? OK. Well a lot of #2/#3 WRs aren't as good as Cooper Kupp. For someone as good at WR as Lazard his, his run blocking is likely to extend his career. The Packers offense specifically asks for their WRs to block a lot; most of them not named Adams are enormous.
  22. FWIW, PFF had Lazard as the #1 run-blocking WR in the NFL, among 108 WRs, since 2019.
  23. His ego couldn't handle the notoriety that McGwire and Sosa got. I don't know even know if it was so much the notoriety; just the fact that he knew they were cheating and weren't a whole lot better than he was. If he cheated, he knew he'd be a monster. And yeah, he was. He was also pretty old and falling apart by then too. He would have been even more ridiculous had he juiced earlier. Don't really care as a fan who is nice and who is mean. Dude was a remarkable player though, not just the kind of volume hits player that Rose was. Bonds was incredible, maybe the best we will ever seen, and he could field too.
  24. Bonds used roids, lol, c'mon. What's particularly sad about his case is that he was going to be remembered as a Top 5 player of all-time without ever touching them. You could already argue he was the best ever before them.
  25. I don't think what Schilling has said can be classified as "politics."
