    Maybe. There's no way to make that sack number look good, but he's 19/121 EDs in pressures this year with 51, respectable. He has also stayed near the top in run stop win rate after being #1 in it last year. Combo guys that play the run do make a lot of money. I can definitely see him getting cut. I'm less sure it's a slam dunk. I'm also not sure the Packers ever trade for Parsons if Gary was playing at the $28 million level he's going to be at next season. He's a solid, albeit overpaid player. His snap count has also kind of always been oddly low, but yes it was lower than usual. He is kinda this year's Jaire. Neither outcome will be surprising.

    Very hard to feel good about where this team is headed. This season is shot, but the bigger problem is money tied up in Banks, Hobbs (my God what whiffs), potentially Jacobs...the two young stars, Kraft and Parsons, coming off ACLs. The OL has issues. The secondary is a mess. Not great assets to improve other areas of the team. It's not looking good. This was definitely a go for it type season and it looked like it might pay off until 2 weeks ago. Looks very different now.

    Malik is fine and everything and maybe he's good, he was at one point evaluated as a top talent. But it's amusing watching people call for him to start here as if he's actually done much of anything. He has never really had to play against anyone good. Never been extensively scouted against. And I don't mean to knock him at all, but some of these performances people have worshipped him over, he's gone like 5/6 with 70 yards. He's done everything and more the Packers could have asked from him, but in no way do I believe he's better than Jordan Love.

    Yes and the 60 minute game was headed for disaster for Denver until 3 of the Packers top 10 players were hurt in 5 minutes. Sold their future? What future did they sell? Another Jordan Morgan? Van Ness? A WR they won't play and will be lucky to finish with 400 yards? I think any GM on the planet makes that trade for Parsons. You're upset and spleen venting. I get that - but I don't get your thesis. The Packers literally were a contender 2 weeks ago. They were literally sitting at the 2 seed, with a 9 point lead and the ball in the second half against the AFC 2 seed. I don't know how else you define contender.

    Oh please dude. The Eagles scored 10 points. Hurts threw for 180 yards. "Split against Flacco" in another game when their offense scored 10 points and had a FG blocked. You can't be serious. The Bears had two field goals for 58 minutes. They were on their way to beating the brakes off Denver until the season unraveled in a 5 minute span. It's hard to play elite QBs when there are like 3 of them, you must not have been paying enough attention to notice it's kind of been a storyline in the NFL this season. I get it. You're upset how the season unfolded. It's expected to feel like that.

    There were coaching warts well before Parsons got hurt, which was the final blow even though there certainly were crushing injuries prior to that. They probably should have been at least two games clear of Chicago before playing the second game. Cleveland never should have happened. Chicago never should have happened. The offensive guru came through with 7 points in a home game against Philadelphia. The conservative stalling in Dallas that forced settling for a tie that they almost didn't even get. Carolina was another debacle but I won't pin it on him, just an OK team that obliterated us up front when it counted like many teams have. The dumb challenges that seem like emotional decisions. Consistently stupid use of timeouts. Not doing anything about his ST unit because his friend is the coach. It's not like his 2nd year either. I would have liked to see how this season goes with Wyatt and Parsons, sure. Maybe it saves him. But it didn't happen and I don't think we need another year of the other stuff.

    This game should put to bed any talk of the Packers going on a run and comps to 2010. The injuries aren't the same. There was a quantity of injuries that year but they were not on par with the significance of these. This is a dead team walking and unfortunately they will be put out of their misery by the Bears. A cruel fate for a season that looked promising just two weeks ago. I do hope it's the end for LaFleur. The schtick has run dry. Please don't make the mistake of running it back because of injuries. This guy isn't the answer.

    Golden must have awful practice habits or something. I don't know. But he either absolutely sucks or did something to upset LaFleur. He may as well have been sent to the minors this year.

    Scoring defense means points. Yeah, who cares about that! They were 5th in yards per rush. 6th in total yards. The defense was good. It's not really debatable. I could engage this "who did they play" thing but I know the difference between someone trying to make a point and someone just spleen venting disingenuously.

    The corners suck and everyone knows they suck, they have a nickel CB punt returner masquerading as a CB1. The entire defense was predicated on pass rush. That's a huge problem when Wyatt and Parsons are done. Doesn't help on top of that when your safeties don't catch the ball.

    The Packers did well signing Watson. They should extend him again because he is by far the best WR they have and it's not even close. I always thought he looked every bit of a star and just couldn't put it together but he's there. Willis also looks very, very good. Good enough to give you crazy ideas regarding the future that couldn't possibly ever come to fruition.

    I'm as big a fan of Jacobs as anyone. I really like him and his heart, but he should be released this summer.

    One thing I will say about this edition of the Packers is that they NEVER had two facets playing well at the same time. There were weeks the defense looked incredible and the offense would show flashes but they were almost never happening simultaneously. The only times I remember it happening were the 2nd half in Pittsburgh and tragically the Denver game until the moment Watson got hurt. As for their defense being mediocre and competition stiffening, 🙄. They were 5th in opponent yards per rush. 8th in scoring defense. 6th in opponent yards per game. They were bad in two things all year though: Opponents red zone touchdown % and turnovers. They were 25th and 26th there. Not good. But saying the unit was mediocre at best is just hyperbole and objectively not true. Anybody can cherry pick 2 or 3 of 15 games and write the story they want, but the facts just don't support it. A maddening season, honestly. It'll be forgotten by time, but more than any other it was just decimated by too many significant injuries. I can't remember a season turning as quickly as this one did in Denver. Just too bad.

    I remember when people's solution to LaFleur was Hafley. Looks like another in the long line of Packer DCs who has a promising year and gets people excited before inevitably reverting to Dom Capers. Kinda like what Dom Capers did.

    Agreed. People forget he was recruited to play at Auburn and was a projected top 10 pick before falling where he did. There have always been people who thought he was a top talent. And Gute must have been one of them. I like Gute, I would be totally fine with retaining him and firing MLF.

    I think he's very likely to get canned, and this is purely speculative, but I don't think Ed Policy loves him and will use this limp to the finish line as the excuse he needed. I don't see why he'd make the comments at the beginning of the season otherwise. Or I think Policy has guys in mind to lead the next era.

    His resume involves being carried by Aaron Rodgers and then being the 7th seed three times. A slew of some of the worst in-game gaffes and comically stupid challenges anyone's ever seen. Are we actually sure he's not terrible?

    I've only seen the box score but the Packers have pass plays of 40 and 39 yards, 7 points, haven't thrown an incomplete pass, 2 runs and they are ... down by 10 and soon to be more? Hope the fans are booing. And I hope this collapse costs LaFleur his job just as it should regardless or who's hurt, because none of that explains what's happening.

    The 17-game season is such a dumpster fire. You have the ENTIRE NFC ad AFC field set 2 weeks before the season ends with only the seeds up for grabs. Sure, the battle to be .500 and win the South, but realistically not even most of the seeds are very likely to change much or matter if they do. Week 17 used to be one of the best of the season. I have no expectation of the Packers to win a playoff game, this season sucks and fell off the track 2 weeks ago in devastating fashion, but I feel no point in watching tonight's game anyway because there is nothing at stake. It's stupid.

    All true, but there just isn't a clear NFC team that is going to trounce them. I would have thought LA, but now they likely are playing in the elements the entire playoffs in some cold climates. The Bears have a solid chance.

    The argument is that if you're a "hands" WR who is so scared of a hit that you turtle on the game's most important play when the play design is that you use your best skill, you probably shouldn't be playing anymore. The guy sucks anyway. What's his career high? 600 yards? That plus he's a head case. He can go any day now, I'm good. The latest in a long line of scrubs that fans randomly adore for some reason. He sucks. When he's done playing he'll hold about as much lore as Robert Ferguson. Trash pick, trash player.

    That's been half their wins. Feels like their year. It's been 40 years since anyone else in the division has won the Super Bowl. My life seems destined to result in me watching all of my rivals in every sport win something. Why not. Don't care anymore. Good luck Bears, we completely squandered Aaron Rodgers, so have at it!
