  1. Called timeout after a spike, ran a negative pass play in bounds to keep the clock moving...but still made the 59 yarder to tie.
  2. Lions just called timeout after a spike.
  3. The Packers are 5th and 4th in points and yards, respectively, on defense. They have had some bad moments situationally, none probably worse than being gashed by Carolina on a game-losing drive, but the weak side of this team is very obvious and it is not the passing defense.
  4. Well, I don't know how impressive the Packers are, and I could see them losing in the Wild Card, but I also think this is probably the best chance they've had to win the NFC since Aaron's last MVP. The defense will always give them a chance.
  5. Wilson is better than Jacobs. I've been saying it most of the year. There are other things RBs do that I'm not qualified to analyze, but when it comes to rushing the ball, he's better. He's more explosive, can turn a bad play positive if breaks down at the line. I'm a huge fan of Jacobs, but I think he is nearing the end of his useful life as a star RB. Not knowing the cap dynamics of anything either, but Jacobs would seem to be a candidate to be released this off-season and they go young at the position.
  6. Parsons is every bit as good as he was hyped to be.
  7. We should win the division. I am not taking Chicago seriously. They could win it, it does feel like a year where they do win it randomly, but I would welcome a playoff game against the Bears. A Thanksgiving win would probably bury the Lions. Either way they just aren't what they have been. Our defense is good enough that I think we'll be in any playoff game. We'll be in the mix for sure, just not the clear cut favorite people wanted us to be in week 2.
  8. This offense is just so dysfunctional.
  9. Packers are just a very, very bad team against the run. I'm confused very often why teams pass on them without ever being stopped on the ground.
  10. They probably already have the deal in hand that they are willing to offer him. No clue what that is, my guess is something that takes him through around age 35, with the years outside of this one at $15mm AAV. Something like 3/$50m. They can keep having that conversation now without losing him.
  11. They did but I will at least excuse that they never saw him play for them. They had a year of looking like a SB team under Darnold. Side note on Jones, I definitely blanked on how long he's been in the league. I don't know why I thought this was year 3 or 4 for him.
  12. That's as much their fault as his if it happens again. They need to look around the league and do what's necessary to have him available for the playoffs. Your seeding just doesn't matter and we are inching closer to NBA territory with every expansion. He should disappear out of the rotation sporadically throughout the season with mysterious injuries. The 83-79 Reds made the playoffs.
  13. McCarthy is a dud. You don't go from this bad to competent starter when you are already throwing to one of the best receivers in the league. I'll grant that their OL has been constantly hurt, but the days of QBs taking years to develop are over. He isn't going to get 3 years of mediocrity to prove he can play. And he hasn't been mediocre. They made a mistake with Darnold and will pay for it. I don't think Darnold is terrific either, but he's competent. It would have been one thing to let Darnold walk if he were 34, but he wasn't, he was a top pick that suffered with a dysfunctional team. Another game the Packers should dominate, particularly with this front 7 against an awful QB, but that of course it means it'll come down to a last-second FG.
  14. I think they're going to keep Peralta and go for it. Hopefully Woodruff suffers a hangnail around July 20 that he just can't quite get to heal until September 27.
  15. I guess I'm not. I don't think anyone was going to give him $23mm. I could have seen something like $28/2, but I think the Brewers made a strong offer. At his best Woodruff is an elite guy. Had we spent $22 million on a replacement SP it would be someone of the Jhoulys Chacin variety. I'd rather just bring him back.
  16. Yeah, I'm dumb. Went off memory and it was just not correct memory.
  17. Adding 12, not 10. Likely has no influence at all on the coming season financially, other than he's playing for us and we likely got a much better player than we would have gone out and signed/traded for had he left.
  18. 2nd half in Pittsburgh they looked very good, looked like the start of a run, but turned out to be the start of "the runs."
  19. The reason for optimism is that nobody is really that good and clearly separating. I would have to say the Rams are #1, but we just lost by 3 to Philly who you'd have to say is #2 and we have a win against Detroit. Thanksgiving will be telling, how we play a divisional road game against a solid team. The Seattles and Chicagos can certainly beat the Packers, but those aren't teams where I think we're getting run out of the building.
  20. The one time Matt should run it for 3 yards he does that.
  21. Back to the Super Bowl, baby
  22. Winston with another gift and we accepted this one.
  23. Yeah any team is probably doing it in this wind with multiple missed EPs. At 2-8 there's absolutely no chance they're kicking it.
