  1. My thoughts exactly. Why not give it to him 4 times? Like I said pages ago. There is this odd tendency for MLF to use Jones in obvious bruiser type situations. It's like he has to put Jones out there to sell the pass.
  2. I'd rather be up 3 with their ball at the 1 then up 6 and kicking off.
  3. I'd rather not have the penalty there. Like the chance to get another first without scoring.
  4. It definitely has that feel but there is a ton of time left in this where we miiiiight get the ball back.
  5. Always so impressive to me how Jones falls forward being such a relatively small back.
  6. Way too easy after giving up that 4th down. I figured they'd score again but that took no time.
  7. I tried to place a bet on GB to win straight up before the game, but it's been years since I've done it and Fan Duel doesn't take bets from my location and sportsbook apparently only takes BTC now.
  8. Jones is good and I like him a lot but one thing I wish I could sit down with MLF and ask is why he seems to insist on not giving obvious bruiser plays to Dillon and insists on Jones.
  9. Correct. That's why I've always thought it to be a silly criticism, especially in the first half. So let's say that a QB sees a bad personnel matchup on the field and calls a timeout. Boo! What a waste! Yes an audible is preferable but for any number of reasons he opts for a timeout, something I personally trust Rodgers to do. It's a pretty unmemorable non-play for a viewer at home but what didn't unfold on that play could change a game. Let's say a much worse QB doesn't and throws a pick or gets sacked. But they take 2 timeouts to halftime because a better chance to use them never comes up. Per your article, there are no "wasted timeouts" for that team. It's a pretty glaring flaw with that system. I just don't think that fans really have enough knowledge as to what goes into personnel groupings and pre-snap to actually know when a timeout gets wasted.
  10. When you make a claim about a team doing something at a significantly higher rate than the rest of the league it is probably best practice to not use a losing season from 3 years ago with a different HC and offense. Or at least not speak in absolutes and claim to know something you don't actually know. I didn't speak in absolutes. I said "I'd be shocked if X isn't true". Obviously this is obscure data that I can't just pull for every season off a quick Google search. You said, "No, we do it more" and use 3 yr old data. That's absolute. This isn't my point anyway. The link you posted doesn't really address what I said. The writer makes his own arbitrary definition of a "wasted timeout" but the problem is that fans don't actually know WHY a timeout is called, which is what I said originally. Maybe Rodgers avoids turnovers by calling timeouts. Without knowing why a timeout was called, it becomes hard to define a "waste." It may not be as simple as "saving" them. Sort of the same principle in using a reliever before the 9th, as you may not ever get to the 9th (though certainly not the same level of impact as a reliever.)

  12. I think at some point we'll get more life from Murray than we've seen. Hopefully too little too late.
  13. Yeah this isn't even the same coach. I'm sorry but you have to do better than this.
  14. I would be kicking this and I'm a go for it guy. The offense is badly out of sync and the 3 looks valuable tonight.
  15. Just keep it on the ground and get the dang 7.
  16. You don't think this team frequently not having timeouts for an effective 2 or 4 minute drill is a legitimate critique? I find that to be quite an odd take. It seems regularly acknowledged by most that this team wastes too many timeouts. I understand the occasional presnap timeout in key situations but it's definitely excessive with this offense relative to league averages. I think it's one of those things that most teams do but something people only notice their own team do. I don't really stress about the use of 1st half timeouts. They sometimes end up unused anyway. I don't like using to avoid a delay of game in the 3rd quarter, but I feel pretty confident that all teams do the stupid "we have the wrong personnel group" timeouts in the 1st and 2nd quarter. Just that nobody cares when the other team does it.
  17. I'm OK with them running time down there. I've seen enough of the Packers last 45 seconds of the half defense to last a lifetime.
  18. I'm sure AZ fans think we should have 3 fewer points if their PR had just stayed 2 inches further from the ball.
  19. Wasting timeouts is always a funny critique to me, particularly in the 1st half. We literally have no idea why they are used.
  20. Weren't you calling for a blowout loss? You should be happy with a 3pt lead at half. Yeah. I was. That literally has nothing to do with me not liking them settling for a Hail Mary Is it settling for a Hail Mary if you don't get past midfield? There is in fact a defense in the way.
  21. Man, I won't name names, but guys, everything isn't always horrible and pathetic. The opponent is trying really hard too. The Packers have played a really nice defensive half, moved the ball OK sometimes but sputtered a bit...yeah, should probably have had 7 the last time down and not 3...but we are down a LOT of guys and up 3 on the road with an undefeated team. Even if we lose this game, if it's close, it's still really encouraging to me that we didn't laughed out of the building in prime time against a really good team, which has been an MLF calling card.
