  1. Game 1 of the NLDS is going to have wildly different fan interest than a hypothetical game 6 of the NLCS with a 3-2 lead. 4 years ago I would have been beating down the door to get to any NLDS game. Now it's certainly exciting but i don't NEED to be there as we've been this far quite often recently. Yeah I won't be going to the NLDS. I'm not participating in the pre-sale this time but I'm just selling my strip, potentially until a clinch game of the NLCS and then I'd probably go to as many WS games as there are. I have some prior engagements 10/8 and 10/9 but winning a NLDS series a third time in 10 years isn't something I have to see in person.
  2. Pretty certain the WS was the same 4 seats but only 1 game.
  3. I think attendance is fine, Brewers are 10th in MLB in attendance this year. They were 8th in 2019 and 10th in 2018. This year they are outdrawing several other first place teams including the White Sox and San Francisco. In my view, raw attendance numbers are never going to return to pre-pandemic levels. That era is over. Attendance across all sports was already in decline by the late-2010s and the desire for people to be in crowds or watch sports from bad seats has never been lower. The good news is that the attendance drop will surely force some much-needed changes to the sport and it will happen sooner rather than later. The Brewers certainly aren't helping themselves with how slow they play--they have played 17 home games this year with a game time of 3:45 or longer. It's fine but there are 10k empty seats for Sunday matinees with bobbleheads and a team 30 games over .500. It hasn't been like a regular year. I don't anticipate 10k empty seats for the NLDS.
  4. I made thousands off the NLDS in 2018. There was a window where the assumption was the Cubs would be here and the day they were eliminated I sold a batch of seats to that game for something like an 800% mark-up that were field level along first base. They lost the WC game that night. I can't remember if they locked people out for the NLCS. I'm pretty sure they didn't start doing that until the World Series. And they let you back in if you promised to stop. I wouldn't expect them to be forgiving this time around. One thing I'd be interested to know is what the penalty is if I sell WS pre-sale tix. There is no next round to penalize me with. A next season I guess, but who cares?
  5. Idk, I think part of the reason attendance is down is because there is not much suspense and hasn't been for months. We've been in first place with a large cushion and there is clearly a postseason so I'm sure lots of people have the same idea of just waiting for this. I think they'll be sold out. Also, IIRC, at the World Series stage, you're only able to buy ONE game during these presales.
  6. They won the game and the Lions Lion'd the whole 2nd half. With 15 games to play the team may have a new identity by the end, but it just really feels like more of the same. They'd have to beat SF for me to feel optimistic. You have some confidence that MVS has more to offer, the secondary can sort of round but, it's really hard to get past the reality that the middle of that defense is atrocious.
  7. I mean he was 16/20 tonight before that throw. Passing for 1 yard was pretty high percentage. If I were them I'd have just thrown over the top though.
  8. I think we will end up winning this game and Detroit really hasn't looked bad in either game this year. But it's hard to be inspired by our Packers thus far.
  9. Why was everyone all chummy at half like the game was over? Lol
  10. The pressure in that last play lol
  11. Lowry has been one of the most disappointing signings of the last decade.
  12. King sucks, but the Joe Barry show is not much better.
  13. It's time for Kevin King to go. It's not reactionary. He's a total liability.
  14. I think Deguara is out with a concussion and ESB's brother is on the Lions. It could be just be for the gesture of suiting up for a nice moment + possibly contributing on ST.
  15. Agree but Pitt was generally seen as a descending team with a washed up QB, then won a nice game in Buffalo. I don't think them in GB is a game we should lose...unless we're actually as bad as we looked. SF has a good argument for being a strong team. Losing is acceptable. Another 30-pt drubbing isn't.
  16. I'll bet they start 3-1 and everyone calms way down. Pittsburgh isn't even good. SF probably is, but it's time for the anointed best team in football doing its last dance to start winning games like that.
  17. They were pretty badly destroyed by Seattle in the opener in 2014. Not quite to the level of last week's hapless embarrassment, but beat up and the game was never really in question. That was a superior opponent, but they ended up having a very good season (and should have won their rematch.)
  18. Booing the team at half because they suck is a far cry from booing Rodgers during introductions. I'd fully expect a standing O from about half the stadium...if he gets introduced, both because it's probably his last year and because the team needs a bit of a pick-me-up. I'll be completely shocked if he were booed pregame. And I personally don't care for him at all.
  19. No way he'd get booed. Standing ovation more likely. We're a fickle bunch, but not that fickle. Next season visiting as a Raider or something? Yeah probably.
  20. The Reds are the like late 90s/early 2000s Redskins. They are going to be good this year, just you wait and see...
  21. It's been one game. But it was an unpopular hire and there's been absolutely nothing to convince anybody otherwise, not in the preseason and certainly not last week. I think it's unlikely a guy is fired mid-year in year 1, but if they are the 29t-ranked defense I could see moving on from him quickly. Especially with next year about 95% likely to be transitional anyway.
  22. King sucks. But it was a bunch of other washed up garbage names that were being tossed around as a replacement. I guess you could have just gone with the guy you drafted, but that doesn't always yield great results. There's still 16 games to play and honestly you just have to win about 10 games and be playing well at the end. But the Packers don't really deserve the benefit of the doubt on defense. If they continue to be bad this year, I think the reality is that a lot of that "talent" isn't really THAT talented. HHCD is a perfect example in a long line of Packer defensive "stars" that everyone can see blows chunks immediately upon leaving town. It's not unique to GB but fans a) overestimate their own players and b) never account for regression. And the DC might also suck too. I don't know where the blame is, but all of these things are possible to me.
  23. I'm definitely Packer fatigued. I'm having a lot harder time getting fired up for this season. Just feels like the Bucks and Brewers were down for so long and the Packers were the "look at me!" team of Wisconsin sports. Now that they aren't overshadowing the others anymore, I feel more of a "great, then win something already" attitude when it comes to the Packers for some reason. I didn't watch Week 1 and I don't see myself watching many games live unless the matchup is really compelling and the Packers get it going. Been doing a lot of home reno, I had it on in the background so I knew how it was going overall but I didn't really see more than a couple plays. I have noticed after the Bucks run that getting excited for regular season sports has been really hard. I've been sorta bored in a way by the Brewers being 10 games up that it's just sort of a wait for October for me.
  24. It's Week 2 and I'm already at "I don't really care if we look good against a team like this." I'm just Packer-fatigued at this point I think. It's better than losing I guess, lol.
