  1. They are being met with that reaction because it's such a departure from what that relationship used to be. Maybe that's a good thing. But most people over 30 grew up in a time where your coach was more of a drill sergeant than a therapist. It's a D1 program where you get free college to play basketball. That said part of being a great coach is getting your players to want to play for you and it doesn't like they were there.
  2. What about an .850 OPS bat from his last actual season? Not saying it is likely but I'm not sure he's a .281 OBP bat. He's a guy you could almost always count on to at least make a pitcher work. Usually I'd be saying just let the guy go, but this offense is bad. He's not coming back though.
  3. I personally hope he comes back as I think he would still make this offense significantly better in almost any role. At the beginning of the season I thought there was a 90% chance he'd come back in July if they were competing, and be with the team some time in August. I think he is more done with the game than I thought. He can come back and have a special day as a retired player, but I feel pretty certain he's checked out of the game now.
  4. I actually thought this was worse than the usual ribbing. They really went on about this for quite a while with basically each person chiming in on why Milwaukee is awful. I haven't watched those shows in about 15 years but it just smacks of smugness. I hope they do come and visit the Deer District but they don't have the guts. I'd love if this took off and there were Terrible City shirts or something.
  5. The only thing I'd like to know is who recorded that. My guess would be Alando Tucker and if that comes out, yikes, kiss your coaching career goodbye.
  6. I've usually found that when someone says a large city sucks, it's actually that person that sucks and not the city. It's a silly concept in itself. How can an entire city suck? Much less one on a lake with some pretty nice restaurants, pro sports and attractions, and without the logjam of a truly giant city. I don't live in Milwaukee but I have nothing but good things to say about the 5 years I was there. Sure it had problems, my car was broken in to and what not, but those things are run of the mill for major metros.
  7. I'm not a Badgers fan but the players sound insanely emotional. I can't believe D-1 scholarship athletes have this expectation of their coach. They sound like babies.
  8. Game 2 was a joke, you can throw that right out. But the Bucks shot far better toward the end of the series than the beginning. Do I think they'd have won the series without Kyrie's injury? No, I don't, but it looked like it had a good chance of going seven games a few seconds before he got hurt.
  9. I feel like this isn't getting said enough. Instead of " the bucks beat the nets without kyrie and a wounded harden" how about " the bucks beat the nets despite Durant putting on one of the greatest playoff performances of this generation"? I think the fact that the series went to 7 games is sort of blocking out the reality that the Bucks went 4-1 in the final 5 games and the one they lost was Durant putting on one of the best performances of all time in Game 5. Then he did it again in Game 7 and they still lost. What's more, the Bucks had found something right before Kyrie went down. They won ugly in Game 3 and had a run going in Game 4 with a lead when he got hurt. I'm not saying the Bucks win the series if Kyrie stays healthy, but the narrative that they won because Kyrie got hurt is bit too hard of a swing in the other direction for me. I think it's fairly likely we would have had a Game 7 even if he hadn't been hurt.
  10. I just can't see a way for Atlanta. The Bucks have multiple options for neutralizing their best player. I can see dropping Game 1 just because it seems to be a one-off sometimes, but I just can't see them beating the Bucks four times.
  11. Simmons likely played his way out of Philly if they are able to get rid of him which might be tough. That Doc Rivers presser was pretty bad when he was asked about him. And yeah, I think the series is a huge mismatch, but Atlanta is talented and seems to be really developing in the playoffs. I think they probably get 2 games just on fumes.
  12. This is somehow, possibly, worse than him having trouble down there. This is when he's starting to look like a AAAA player.
  13. I guess I kinda thought Philly was something of a paper tiger all year. I never thought the Bucks would get by Brooklyn once they were a lower seed. But I had several friends who thought Atlanta would win this series. I thought Philly would out-talent them but Atlanta played well...but I don't think they can do that to the Bucks 4x.
  14. Bucks in 5 or 6. Depends on the first two I think. If we split those I'll go 6 but I like our chances a lot.
  15. Huerter looks like someone who will be annoying to play.
  16. I think you're slightly exaggerating how ineffective Harden was. He was immobile in Game 5, but he was still chipping in nicely on offense since coming back. He was an assist and rebound away from a triple double last night... The Nets have zero depth. He was their 2nd best player on the floor last night. That team isn't built around 1 star with a decent bench. It's built on 3 superstars and nothing else. If we want to pick a Net that really blew it for them, it's Joe Harris without a doubt.
  17. I also think Philly wins but Embiid just can't tow the kind of load that KD does. It won't be some walk in the park but I like our chances.

  19. Yeah lol, I don't think he's too worried about paying the dues.
  20. Bucks in 6. I'm really pulling for ATL. I thought Philly would roll over in Game 6 but based on the fight they still have I'd strongly prefer just getting the home court for ECF.
  21. Yeah I'm right there with you. I think the Bucks are a heavy favorite over Atlanta and less of one over Philly but still a favorite. Either West team is absolutely capable of beating the Bucks, but man oh man was tonight fun.
  22. Not just that but it looked like they had about 5 different Wisconsin moments to lose it. I cannot believe they did it.
  23. KD's foot definitely on line again on the miss.
  24. Gotta be Wednesday. It's set up for Wed and Fri to complement the West from what I see.
