Did Patrick Ewing bring that ball up as a PG half the game and stand around the perimeter chucking 3s? My point wasn't that those guys are the same player, my point was that you don't see those guys doing stupid things outside of their skill set, like Shaq handling the ball at the top of the key. Obviously Giannis has a better handle than Shaq but the Lakers were keenly aware of his limitations. Obviously having Kobe helps a little. It's time to be honest about what Giannis is. What he needs to develop are post moves, not his 3-pt shot. The Bucks are never winning a championship on the strength of Giannis shooting 3s. And yeah, sorry, but, Giannis is much closer to Shaq than Garnett or Durant. He can't hold Durant's jock if we are talking about as an overall player. Durant is a closer you want shooting the ball the entire 4th quarter. With Giannis, he's unstoppable in the right circumstance, but you end up watching the game hoping he doesn't have the ball in his hands at the end, a) so he doesn't take a stupid shot, like that ridiculous fadeaway over Gimp Harden, and b) when he gets fouled you wince and hope for 1 point. I thought this was pretty brutal and on-point this morning: https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nets-bucks-giannis-antetokounmpo-is-not-that-guy-and-mike-budenholzer-is-not-that-coach/ I love Giannis, I think he's a great player. NBA first-team is deserved. But there are things he can't do and we should stop asking him to do those things. The free throws need to improve, but the rest of these things are limitations that need to be schemed around, not just attempted over and over with the same result.
