  1. It wouldn't surprise me if the bending over is the movement that hurts routinely, but even if that's the case, swinging the bat would be a great way to make things worse. It may not hurt every time, but get a bad swing just once and you could create a world of problems. This team hasn't been all that inspiring, but if I said they'd be one game over at this point with Yelich essentially missing the whole season, I think most would accept that.
  2. Here's to hoping the season that the Bucks just don't seem that good and aren't favored is the year they actually break through.
  3. If this helped prevent retailers from laying off staff, which it almost certainly did, then it worked as intended. For now.
  4. He really doesn't. He didn't run on that play because he wasn't even close to having a path to the end zone. The initial TV shot was somewhat misleading, but Patrick Mahomes isn't scoring on that play by running.
  5. They helped me with allergies too.
  6. Ding ding ding. It's a craze, heavily inspired by social media influencers. There are Walmart employees who buy up the boxes as soon as they are shipped in. There's a bit of a trading card bubble going on right now. It's become the new thing to flip for profit.
  7. He lost running skills... no where near as quick or fast. Also, it’s amazing how wide open guys can be when the running game is working. Still amazingly good at 37... can’t play better than last season... impossible. I dunno. He's slower at 37 than he was at 27, but he is still plenty mobile. Favre was pretty quick on his feet when he was younger but he wasn't winning any foot races at 37. Favre was always incredibly elusive but not really mobile. The physical decline in Favre was a lot more noticeable, even though he was still able to be very productive overall.
  8. There was an extended period of time where his footwork had become noticeably worse and everything just seemed "off" whether it was trust problems, happy feet, or whatever. What I never saw was noodle arming, loss of athleticism, etc., that other aging QBs hit a brick wall with later in their career.
  9. I never really bought the narrative that any of Rodgers's skills had eroded in the years prior to last. That's also just not even accurate. He was lighting the league on fire again in 2017 and then got hurt. 2018 was arguably the worst Packers team during his tenure, and he was good in 2019, just not MVP. Those sub-par seasons are kind of laughable because they get most guys on the radar for being top QBs. I'm not arguing he played fantastic football in 18-19, but it seemed to be more of him just getting away from fundamentals, and trying to do everything alone, then losing any kind of ability. I just haven't seen that happen.
  10. Offense was doomed to be awful without Yelich and Hiura doing literally anything. There is just no way this group can compensate for that. It's incredible this team isn't 12-24.
  11. Don't underestimate the possibility that Rodgers feels scorned and is hesitant to agree to a deal, even if it includes what he wanted, for that reason.
  12. I'd strongly prefer the Bucks wind up #2. Philly just seems far more beatable to me than Brooklyn, and if they can get home court over Brooklyn I think it helps. Any edge they can get.
  13. We don't really know anything for certain but if one believes Rodgers can be really, really good for 3 years, I would say the time to trade Love is now. If Gute thinks he is the next great thing, then not trading him makes sense. If you're not certain, I think the tail end of Rodgers career is still worth a lot. Even if you traded Love, he became a star, and Rodgers still put together a good 3 or 4 years, it's hard to fault the team for doing it. But the Packers seem to be playing both sides of it and pushing that decision until the last possible second. It's prudent, but you can get why Rodgers is putting the brakes on that, even if he's being a bit of a diva. It's not all that dissimilar to what happened with Jimmy G in New England. I believe Belichick was enraged with that trade. I guess what I'm saying is that I just don't see a resolution where Rodgers and Love are both on the roster. Gute getting fired is the most pointless piece of gossip in this whole thing. There's a 0% chance it happens. It's more likely Favre comes back to fight for the starting job again.
  14. If the stories about Jordan Love being Plan C or D on draft day are accurate, it's weird to me that the Packers are digging their heels on him. Unless they know something about him we don't, which is totally possible.
  15. I just can't see a resolution on Rodgers's terms that doesn't involve trading Jordan Love. Rodgers will not show up if it's obvious this is a one year and dump, and the Packers will not sit Love down for 4 years. If you're Gute and you want to be GM for 20 years, you're probably not going to trade Jordan Love. Something has to happen this summer.
  16. And perhaps I'm reading into this too much, but Rodgers has never been insecure about backups. Very buddy-buddy with them in fact, Boyle, Hundley, yes they were drafted later, but he seemed much cozier with them than he had to be. It makes me wonder if Aaron knows Love is actually good. Otherwise, why care?
  17. Favre and Rodgers are literally the same guy. It's amazing. The Gunslinger book had all this stuff in it that Favre pulled when they drafted Rodgers, most of it with Favre being incredibly thin-skinned and insecure. Rodgers is exactly the same. The only difference, so far, at least that we know, is that Rodgers isn't an outright jerk to Love. My personal opinion is that Aaron doesn't want to actually leave, but will if he doesn't get his way, and thinks he will get his way. I'm over it. Issue a statement, stop doing these proxy whispers through your buddies. Talk or go away. Trade him for a bucket of Gatorade. I am just over the guy.
  18. FWIW I also think ripping the Braun contract is just a bit dishonest. I think people way overstate the negative aspects of that and don't look at the big picture of what he's meant to the team. And it's not like he went Chris Davis on us. He was pretty good, for the most part. Just not the MVP. It could have been so much worse than it was.
  19. When he's healthy, yes absolutely I'm still stoked about that, because it's the most bargain-bin long-term contract for a star player in all of MLB. Sit him down for a couple months if need be. 1) He's not healthy, that's the reality, and if he's got chronic back problems now, it's fair to wonder where his health will be in 5 years. 2) It's not even close to the most bargain bin long-term contract in MLB. Acuna has that by a million miles, healthy Yelich or not. I'm on your team now. And I thought Yelich's injury was super minor. This is not good.
  20. Speaking of, what happens with Cain's contract after his opt out? Does it extend for 2021, 2022 and 2023? Just a wash on last year?
  21. Game is most definitely not happening, but the names in that lineup card are nice to see.
  22. Rodgers vouched for Kumerow and then he was gone. Rodgers specifically mentioned this, during this past season, when asked if the Packers need to add a WR. Instead of just saying no, I love our guys, Rodgers said it was a great question but the last time he vouched for someone they wound up in Buffalo. Less to do with a sub-par player being released and more to do with the fact that Rodgers liked him and they didn't care. That alone wouldn't do it, but A + B + C + Kumerow = pouty Aaron is a possibility.
  23. Is it actually 'going on,' though? All of this is from unnamed sources. Today is the first business day following the draft, which was almost certainly the SOLE focus of the front office this weekend. I'd argue that there hasn't been a realistic chance for their to be a resolution to any issue at this point.... This would be my take, but there is too much smoke here. The Packers have said a lot about this, MLF calling it a disappointing set of circumstances...I think there's some conjecture and gossip, but Rodgers would have thrown cold water on this by now. I think it's safe to say he is at least upset.
