  1. Well, my point was that it's a non-starter for a lot of people. As a pro athlete he can have his pick of the litter for services. So if there are no male therapists in there, that alone wouldn't tell me much of anything. Even if he had a preference for only hot female therapists, which I would guess a lot of young male pro athletes do, he can afford whatever, so it's hard to take much from it.
  2. Fantastic and frankly shocking bit of news.
  3. A lot of men don't want male therapists. A lot of women also don't want male therapists.
  4. Don't know anything about Watson's case, but these types of incidents never have anything to do with being unable to find a willing partner. It's a perversion, or in prostitution cases, paying for silence, not "the act."
  5. Does anyone know anything about mlb.tv included with SSH? I swear I read that feature was still live but when I login it says I don't have an account. Is there some extra step you had to take or is this dead now?
  6. Because one is essentially a 2x MVP with an actual track record and the other is a decent rookie season and then a cliff dive?
  7. Sorry but I refuse to jump on the "Yelich isn't fine" wagon when we are talking about a 60 game clown show that I basically wrote off completely and the first 20 ABs of the season. You can be concerned if you want, I'm not at all. I am concerned about Keston Hiura looking like someone unplugged his network cable when trying to hit an 89 mph fastball.
  8. Yelich is fine. He'll be fine. Hiura is a real candidate to see time in the minors. He looks terrible.
  9. It's Arcia. Everyone that hasn't already tempered expectations, should.
  10. Don't forget waiting in a line for a paper ticket you insist on getting. That's also too much.
  11. The plans I'm talking about are likely even less expensive than what the typical non-smart phone using customer is already paying on one of the big 3 or 4 providers. But I don't think cost is really the issue at all here. It's simply change = bad. You wouldn't need a smart phone if your brother/dad/son/coworker/friend had one either. This just sounds like a mountain of a mole hill. The non-smartphone ticketholder attending a game alone or with nobody with a smart phone is what % of people attending games this season?
  12. Issues? I don't have a smart phone. I use my phone primarily to text and phone my wife. That is what a phone is for. I paid $150 for it and about $15 a month. I don't need it for anything else. I realize society is going in that direction, but I hesitate to drop $800 plus whatever monthly charges just to text my wife that I'm on my way home. Oh well. I have a BYOD used smart phone purchased via eBay with full text capabilities. The service is $20 a month with extra GBs of data available for $5. There are several companies that do this, in fact mine isn't the cheapest. This thing being repeated here now several times that you need to spend $2k to have a smartphone is just not reality. Smartphone isn't synonymous with iPhone 20 or whatever they're on now. They aren't new. People had them 15 years ago.
  13. People generally won't do something that makes them uncomfortable until they are forced to do it. Most of the issues in the past are, as I said, user error, or unfamiliarity with a system because typically they Brewers gave you an option to print paper tickets. So when someone hasn't ever done that until they show up for the playoffs, naturally there will be a bunch of problems with apps loading and connectivity, etc. Over time people adapt without an alternative and they figure things out. The Brewers gave everyone a multi-year curve on this. It'll be fine.
  14. It probably will get better because they are clearly doing away with any alternative and people have to learn it. I am more than willing to bet than in most situations, uses error is the reason someone can't get something to work. All connectivity problems can be solved by just screen grabbing the barcode and using the photo of it. I can see a situation where someone from far away doesn't have signal and doesn't have data.
  15. That and tons of things are e-ticket only now. I would get the uproar if this were sprung on everyone a week before the season but this has been years in the making. Also don't think people are giving "old people" nearly enough credit. They'll be fine.
  16. It probably won't be a big line especially this seasons since most people know what they're getting into. Without carry-ins, masks, etc., I think the vast majority will not bother with that if printed tickets are an issue for them. In other words the drive, the protocols, etc., will be the reason someone doesn't go. Not an e-ticket in the majority of cases.
  17. Yes, incompetence: not having or showing the necessary skills to do something successfully. It's the same kind of person who shows up at the airport without a boarding pass on a budget airline then gets indignant about paying a re-print fee even though it's expressed they will have to do so about 600 times. Someone showing up at the gate and being turned away because they didn't plan a solution to their smart phone problem, or weren't aware of it, is being incompetent. This policy is everywhere. It's not hard to find. This task is a very low bar to clear.
  18. Oh, I don't doubt that people will be walking up to the window for help. I think that the majority of those people are being incompetent, especially this year due to what you'd have to know just to get a ticket. I am sure there are genuine cases where someone had no idea, mainly older folks that tag along and nobody in the group informs them or something...but I think this will be a non-issue in the vast, vast majority of cases.
  19. You know not everyone is like you (or most people) and not everyone has a smart phone. Maybe they can’t afford a smart phone or maybe they have no use for one so they don’t spend hundreds a year just to have one. I can’t imagine not having a smart phone and being able to use e-tickets...but I’m one blob of millions in this country, not all of us blobs are the same. Bolded part is unnecessary snark but anyway...this person without a smart phone is going to games by themselves, or in a group where no one has a smart phone and has NO means of getting in the building with an e-ticket and despite knowing this is the policy for months in advance and that the team's (and all live events) been trending this way for years? It's on them at this point...and FWIW...you don't need to spend hundreds on them, I don't. Gobs of used phones for sale in a million places and discount plans...or, even more simply, a friend with a phone. I have a hard time believing this person even exists in any significant number this season with all the hoops you'd have to go through to just to get a ticket and be aware of pods, masking, etc. All that said, if you walk up to the window I am betting they don't tell you that you're out of luck.
  20. If months of advance notice on a ticketing policy that's already been in place for years is that big of a problem, I tend to side with user error and competence being the issue. I can't even imagine the issues that would come up if I had a phone that can't be scanned at this point.
  21. They are encouraging ordering those items through the app. Over time, I'd guess those vendors will disappear and it will just be someone runners taking things to sections all the time. In the mean time they probably will do card readers on lanyards like the waitstaff in club.
  22. What are the e-ticket issues? I have probably attended 60 games with multiple e-tickets per game, and never, not once, has there been an issue. I would never want a paper ticket or prefer to bring or use cash at a game.
  23. It is rated R, so I don't think that was even on the radar. The 2022 Batman film doesn't look to be all that funny so it's clear that DC is moving away from camp and trying to be darker while leaving a few silly characters like Shazam and the Flash to be lighter.
  24. Funny, I watched it today as well, and finished it probably around the exact same time. Huge improvement over the first one, which was so bad I couldn't finish. This one was better and exciting, but still some oof. The entire epilogue was WAY too long and fell into Snyder's old bad habit of trying to cram too much into too short of a space, which apparently is still possible in a 4-hour movie. I thought Martian Manhunter was really clumsily done, personally. Just awkwardly forced into the story. Gal Gadot really can't act. If the first movie didn't exist, I think this would have spun off the universe nicely, but they are moving on from this regardless. It's a shame what could have been but at least WB has shown they can make a passable film. I'd give it a solid 4/5 for the genre. It was a lot more fun. Still some misses on Batman's character but it was enjoyable.
  25. Exactly. It's a complicated situation that needs time and game situations to figure out and making a decision on it a year before you have to doesn't make any sense. Unless you think Rodgers will sabotage 2021 because he's bitter.
